Works great and we love the instant hot water, but these units are mostly non-repairable with a life of 8-10 years before they leak and need to be replaced. I'm on my third in 20 years. Good news is they haven't changed and a new one drops in in less than five minutes. After the last one started leaking, so I took it apart and traced it to a gasket that had hardened and developed a split. Of course, it was a specialized gasket around the thermostat not available to order from the manufacturer or third-party. Had I been able to order one, I could have fixed the tank for less than $10 and it would have been good for another 10 years, as the tank itself was in perfect condition. Instead, I spent $300 for a new tank. The hot water is nice, though.

A must have for my kitchen but it only lasts 5-6 yrs max

When I bought my house 32 yrs ago, it came with an Instant Hot, because the previous owners had small children including an infant.I've come to love this appliance and can't live without it. However, over the years, it's clear to me that the unit has a limited life span of no more than 5-6 yrs.A new unit costs $200-$300 plus another $250+ for a plumber to install it. Therefore, it's not an inexpensive investment. I wish the life span can be improved.

Does the job

I had the same unit but it failed after about 4 years. The water began leaking thru the electronics' temperature dial, and down under my sink.I have to say their website was continually down, so I wasn't able to read up on the latest models. They also have the same unit with various model numbers and configurations yet searching the web turns up little. I ended up just buying what looked like a replacement model on Amazon. So far, it's working fine. Super easy install.

Easy replacement
28 September 2024

My 10 year old Insinkerator hot water dispenser stopped dispensing water. I called Tech Support. They helped determine that I need a new tank. I could order one for $525. They said I could buy a new dispenser for much less at a HW store.I bought one and installed just the tank. Very easy.Good that new tank compatible with old dispenser. Not so good that I could not order just a tank for less than a complete dispenser.

It is not as good as my other one
22 July 2024

This is my second home and I have a hot/cold one in my other home. This one makes too much noise. I can hear it boiling the water continually. Also, after not using it for 5 months, the water was brown when it came out of the tap. I turned the temperature down while we were not here. Should I have turned it off instead of down? Not sure what to do when it is left for months at a time without use.

Love our Multipure water filter system!
10 April 2024

We moved to a new state. The water here tested pretty poorly. We love how many things the Multipure filters out. It's much better than any pitcher style water filter or than any filter you can buy at Lowes. It gives me peace of mind to know we are drinking good, clean water. You can definitely taste a difference. And the convenience of the filter and spout at our kitchen sink is so nice. We don't buy disposable water bottles. We have it hooked up to our hot tap as well.

Product never gets better
30 March 2023

We built our house new in 2005. We purchased our first inSinkErator and unfortunately for us not our last.We have had to replace it 6 times!! Yes, six inSinkErator's.We switched to a Westinghouse brand and got only 2 years out of that one.Had no choice and had to get another inSinkErator October of 2022 as we could not find any other brand. This inSinkErator lasted 5 months!!!!This brand has got to be the absolute worst in all aspects. My husband is a commercial contractor and knows how to install this product so before anyone claims that is the issue, I assure you it is not.Now we are off to find another brand so I can have my Tea/coffee.

This product works as intended. Does not leak provides instant wonderful, hot water. Hopefully will be able to use it for tea soon..
18 March 2024

This was a gift from my children, because I had wanted one for so long as my mother had had one for years and we loved hers. The main thing I wanted to use it for was my hot tea and coffee. It does not leak, it was easy to install and it works beautifully. I can use it for everything except the one thing I wanted it for which was hot tea, etc. It just has a terrible taste. I’ve run lots of water through it and used it for all kinds of things, thinking it would just take a little while but that has not resolved yet. I do love the product very much but I’m very disappointed. Thank you

WORST Quality PRODUCT!
16 April 2024

Do not buy the 150 model. I have two of the others and have never had an issue but this model started just spewing out hot water at random. They don't warranty the product after 1 year and it just happened shortly after a year because we didn't use it that much. I had two plumbers out and they just adjusted the temperature and said to release the water occasionally. That DIDN'T work either.Product should last a long time!

Pros: Our sink takes forever for hot water to get to it so this is great for instant hot. I use it almost every day.Cons: I will probably need to put insulation behind it where it rests against cabinet because it's sort of loud when it is heating up. I assume insulation between it and the cabinet will help.Installation was horrible. They do not include a part you need but that may be due to different sized water lines and they want you to buy what fits your house not just their product. Fine, whatever. However, the copper fitting would not go over the copper tube/pipe. I bought a second fitting same thing. The pipe is either a hair too big or...idk. I had to mess with it for over 30 minutes and finally got one of them on. I had to buy another length of hose so that the T could reach over to the copper tube. So it looks a little jacked up under the sink but it works.Lastly, I wish the faucet could swivel and that the control for it pulled towards you rather than having to pushed away.Overall it's cool. I hope it lasts. I plan to get an alarm for under the sink in case of any leaks because I've heard they can start leaking out of nowhere.
