Beautiful hot+cool water tap!

I dont know why these Insinkerator taps cost so much, but this was a beautiful upgrade to the 12-year-old HC1100 we replaced because it started to malfunction. The HC3300 works with the same water heating tank we were already using. Works with the filtration system, too you just have to plug one of outlets from the filter: the HC3300 only needs one copper line to serve both hot and cool options, whereas the HC1100 needed 2. We also switched from the F-601R filter our original tap kit came with, to the thinner F2000S filter system. This required also buying a 3/8 to 1/4 reduction union compression fitting, since the new filter system uses the smaller-diameter line, which doesnt match up to our larger diameter shut-off valve without the reduction union. Without the filtration unit, you may still need a reduction union if your shutoff valve is 3/8. If you already have the older/wider filter system, that should still work - you dont have to switch.

I've owned and replaced many over 30-35 years and this, by far, is the best of all brands I've owned or seen in other homes. This one comes as close to 210 degrees as you can get without boiling the water away, which is important for making coffee and tea. I make fresh filtered coffee in the same time it takes to make instant coffee. While it's not a rolling boil, it makes black or green tea instantly and perfectly. Run it through an under-sink filter system and you virtually eliminate the need for bottled water. Installation is not for the faint of heart or those not mechanically inclined. It requires an under-sink outlet and a knack for a plumbing connection, but I wouldn't buy any other brand or model. If you really wanted to, you could run the tepid line through an under-sink or basement chiller and have truly HOT and COLD instant filtered water at your finger tips. I did just that in my last home. The box comes with most things you need, but not everything. You may want Teflon tape, edible plumber's grease, plumbing tools and a whole set of electrical tools and supplies if you intend to do the wiring yourself. While you're there, install a quad or double duplex so you can install a garbage disposal, if you don't already have one. that outlet will need to be switched.

While it is nice and elegant, it did not last. Started leaking with limited use. We have it installed in our summer house and it is used for 2-3 months out of a year. By the time we hit 5-year warranty, it started leaking. There is no repair or replacement option. Your only option is to buy a replacement, which costs $800. Waste of money. I am replacing it with an alternative instant hot water tank and hot/cold water dispenser, which combined costs half as much as replacing this dispenser only. AVOID IT, IF YOU CAN.

Design flaw led to a flood of our house.

The product works flawlessly. The issue is the housing that holds the filter. The housing is designed to fit very close to the wall that it attaches to. Dispenser will leak and cannot be repaired
17 July 2022

We bought this dispenser because it matched our kitchen faucet. We liked the idea of a single handle to dispense both hot and cold water. When using the dispenser the water will continue to dribble for 5-10 seconds after releasing the handle for either hot or cold. We made multiple calls and were provided with tips to alleviate the problem. Nothing helped and we stopped using the unit. I recently replaced our water filter and decided it was time to start to use our dispenser again. I don’t know why I thought the results would be any different and they weren’t. The unit continues to dribble water for 5-10 seconds when you use it. Many people have complained about this and that the only fix is to replace the entire faucet, which is a big expense. Excellent instant hot water tap
4 November 2021

I bought one of these taps after considering a ZIP system for a long time. The ZIP's are $2.5k and there aren't enough cups of tea that can justify that cost for me. This one priced at $1k is perfectly cheap enough and the external tap looks good enough that anyone else would naturally assume you've got a ZIP system. The hot water boiler/container unit is small enough to fit under most sinks, either top or bottom shelf. The box comes with a screw on water filter that's attached to your cabinet, separate to the heating unit. You need to make a hole in your benchtop/sink about the size of a 50c piece to fit in all the hoses and tubes coming out of the tap, so consider this when thinking about placement, and ensure you have the correct tools to make the hole before ... MoreI bought one of these taps after considering a ZIP system for a long time. You need to make a hole in your benchtop/sink about the size of a 50c piece to fit in all the hoses and tubes coming out of the tap, so consider this when thinking about placement, and ensure you have the correct tools to make the hole before you begin.Connecting the hoses to the boiler and water filter is easy and straightforward. My box came with two instruction booklets, one with a lot of diagrams and not many pictures, and another the complete opposite.Key things to remember: Run the tap for 3 mins straight (power off) after you’ve completely connected it, don’t mount the tap so you need to pull the lever into the sink to activate it (you’ll end up burning yourself that way), install the tap and feed the hoses down through the hole before you decide on a final resting spot for the boiler, remember there will be a few mm drop from where you drill the holes to where the boiler ends up resting on the screws, measure the hole depth for the screws properly so you don’t drill through the back of your kitchen cabinet.

Great solution for fast hot water
27 July 2023

An excellent unit, very neat on the sink. We bought it to provide faster hot water maonly for rinsing purposes than the 60(!) seconds it took for hot water from our on-demand gas heater. So we run it at minimum temperature, which is 82 deg. Installation straightforward if not exactly easy; but my biggest problem was ongoing drips after tapping into the cold water line (no fitting is provided for this). Also the generally tight access under the sink. High quality tap. We also got a filter, maybe overkill for our very hugh quality water.

This product is great while it works.....

I love the system when it is working. I have had it for 8 years and have had to replace the tank at 5 years as it started to leak at the gasket in the boiler tank and there is no replacement gasket. The gasket looks like it would cost 5 cents to produce.I am now getting dripping from below the handle when using the cold water side of the faucet. I presumed like other high end faucets I have had over the years that there would be a replacement stem available by the manufacturer. I am very disappointed to learn that I will essentially have to throw out my current 400-500 faucet and replace it. This seems like a complete waste of time and resources. I can think of many parts available such as for an automobile engine, furnace, or gas stove that are made available by the manufacturer despite some risk if installed incorrectlyThis seems in line with others experience both on this site and online. I guess the business model is to make them semi disposable as to continue to sell new units.

We love it
31 October 2022

Love this faucet. Great to get rid of kettle to save on bench space and it’s been surprising how happy instant boiling water makes us! The filtered water is a great additional benefit. The size is great. It fits well alongside our standard size faucet and doesn’t look odd. The high spout is good so that you don’t have to place your mug too low when filling it up. The swivel of the faucet is also handy. The handle is easy to use for hot and cold.We are yet to work out how to stop the water sputtering out and spraying a little (cold and hot) after a not using it for a while. You can’t heat water to highest temperature, otherwise it sprays pretty violently. Luckily, the setting just under maximum creates a piping hot cup of tea. We’ve been using it a month and love it.

We love this faucet that dispenses water from our instant hot water dispenser. We purchased it as part of our kitchen update and have used it for 6 months now. While its not an exact color match to our Delta Trinsic Pro faucet in Arctic Steel, the style and color are rather darn close. And, it dispenses hot and cold filtered water, depending on which direction you pull the knob. Originally, we were going for just instant hot water, but thought having access to both hot and cold on the same tap made it easier to get the exact temperature of water for different needs without bouncing back to the kitchen faucet. For example, I want nearly boiling hot water for tea/coffee, but prefer a mix of hot and regular for my morning warm water therapy first thing. This dispenser is wonderful! Well worth the price of the part and the professional installation. Would highly recommend.
