Insta360 Ace 8K Pro Action Camera - Brand New

First impressions it felt like another GoPro but I got this on 66 and bought it for my trip to go diving. It performed really well on the trip as specially underwater, the big sensor and AI produce really good images. I think Insta 360 she has a way to go with improving the postproduction software and interface to reduce work after the imagery has been shot. Delivery promise five days until it arrived on time, but delivery updates were only made if you follow up with the shop or check regularly because they may not email or send you notifications. Ace Pro Review

Pros:- I think it has better picture quality than the Gopro 11 Black and 12.- Easy to operate, assemble, and use (similar to a GoPro).- Footage time isn’t partitioned into individual videos with a time limit of 20 to 30 minutes like the GoPro 11 Black.- Battery time is more then an hour.- Recharging time is roughly 30 minutes for a full battery.- can upload videos from your phone, by wifi, at 5Ghz speed. It will be attached to my snowboard helmet via Gopro mount.Sidenotes:I think it is worth the price of purchase. It has more features and better quality than the GoPro 11 and 12, but the assembly mount and accessories are subpar at best. It is recommended that you purchase the card reader from the Insta360 site to transfer footage from camera to laptop the fastest. Two batteries would be enough unless you are taking footage all through the day.Hand gestures and voice commands are gimmicks. You can bluetooth most wireless audio devices to this unit for audio capture.

Best action camera ever.

Definitely the best action camera in the market right now. I used to be a GoPro fan, untill I tried this one, so I switched. Had it tested for 2 weeks every day, in every light condition, low, hight, night, etc. Low light performance is amazing, plus detail in images is close to some Sony point and shoot cameras level. The 8K recording works great, screen is so hight quality, body feels premium, and magnetic mount ease your life so much. Right now this camera is way ahead of GoPro and DJI, regardless your preferences, you definitely have to at least try it out.Now, missing star for this one, is due to a serious issue, that, in my opinion, has something to do with the lense, which is so rare, because Leica is a master company when it comes to Lenses and precision ... MoreDefinitely the best action camera in the market right now. Minimum focus distance is too high, which means, subject needs to be farther than normal to be focused. So when you're recording, main subject is a little out of focus, but rest of things are well focused and sharp. I hope they fix that issue soon, because rest of the camera is just amazing.

Good camera but don't trust BestBuy employees

The camera has been great so far but it is frustrating how little knowledge BestBuy employees have about BestBuy products. I asked specifically about the camera mounting system and the employee I talked with acted as if he knew the answer and was very confident that this camera had a standard 1/4" threaded mount. In fact, it does not. There are compatible mounts you can purchase but he assured me it had this in the box...it does not. Keep in mind, this was the camera "expert" who I had to ask around for and wait for him to have time for me.Why are there "experts" in different BestBuy departments when those experts don't know (and then make up) answers about the products they are supposed to be experts in?

Love This Camera!

I bought the Insta360 Ace Pro to take along with me when I'm on trips.I used to take another great camera on all my trips and was very happy with my Sony RX100. It has served me well for 9 years with great pictures and video. After I bought the Ace Pro I took experimental video and pictures on both cameras in the same conditions simultaneously. The Ace Pro balanced out high contrast hot and cool areas of my pictures and videos. The Sony had overexposed areas of sky and sunny areas contrasting with shade areas in both video and pictures. I recently took the Ace Pro on a trip and I could not be happier with its performance with stills and video!!

Night Video Beast!!!

I do understand the negaitive reviews that some users have left. The Mobile app is massive and the camera will not function till it is linked to your account through the said app, however this camera blows all the other action cameras I have used out of the water.I do videography for Fire/Rescue and lets just say that finding a camera to work in this setting is hard. The flashing lights of the emergency vehicles and the contrast differences between a dark night, flashing lights and Flames shooting out of a roof make video extremely hard to capture. The Ace Pro nails it and is not just the best Action Camera for this work but the best video camera. The camera is super easy to operate, has features that are truly useful such as pausing a video recording and resuming the recording in the same video file at the touch of a button. The magnetic mount makes removing the camera from a tripod or other mount seamless and super quick. Other action cameras require you to unscrew a long screw to remove the camera. When seconds count the Ace Pro is hands down the fastest to mount and unmount.The available attachments are nothing to shrug off either. The Mic Adapter is easy to install and remove and there are not shortage of brackets and adapters directly from Insta360 to get done what you need done.If your not worried about the need to register your camera and all the firmware updates to get started this is the action camera for you.

Overheats at 8k24, after 17mins recording.

My Insta360 Ace Pro just overheated, after nearly 17 mins recording at 8k 24, it just shut off. When I turned it back on it was warm to the touch and will no longer recognize the SD card, restarting it multiple times taking the sd card out and back in multiple times, the camera still doesn’t show an SD card is in there. I waited about an hour for it to cool down and it seems to be working normally again with the previous 17mins 8k clip still on the card. Doing another test now to see if it happens again. 3 stars because this feature is important to me and assuming everything else works as hyped. Will update review if allowed.

Tested All 3

Just received mine today and I’m returning it in about in hour ..you need to have log profile or there is no point of it being called pro. It wasn’t made for pros..tried color grading flat profile and it just was just no cutting it, Thats where the 10bit color would of assisted.Standard and low light is the best looking modeBut doesnt compare to the competition as to the over sharpening. Picture Quality shown on YouTube is not what you will see from the ace.Bought Hero 12 first but it couldnt handle low light well. Bought Action 4 was surprised how Good it was . Bought ace pro last and it was not good at all only thing I liked was Gesture controls. Flip out screen was cool but got tired of flipping it out you just need a front screen.

Vlogging Camera Not Action Camera

Bought this camera because I saw a lot of sponsored hyped up videos on youtube. Purchased it immediately because I have a vacation coming up soon and i wanted to use it. Video in low light was okay but not amazing enough to purchase this camera for that. I plan to take the camera under water and the things i noticed were the doors unlatched easily because there are no locks on them, the magnet feet mount was also a struggle to put on and required some pressure to secure it, the flip screen was cool but it was annoying to flip up to see yourself and flip back down to see what youre trying to record. Camera feels like its aimed more for vloggers and less action or abuse. My phone can do everything this can do.

Worth every penny!!!

I love this camera! It's so easy to use. The video quality, editing tools, compact design, and low light ability is exactly what I was looking for. It beats using my phone to record. I can easily mount it to pretty much anything. Having a long battery life and memory card slot for expansion is great for all day or multiple day recording. It's also a bonus that it's waterproof and the rear screen is adjustable so I can see what I am recording from various angles. It's one of my best purchases!!!
