I was able to prepare the ingredients, close the cooker and go about my day starting the cooking process remotely from my driveway. Additionally, the app allows you to monitor the warming time, cooking time, and release time which uses to require consistent monitoring of the appliance -not anymore. Perhaps my favorite feature is the Manual Venting which allows me to choose between natural (pressure releases on its own), quick (the rapid release we’re familiar with), and a new feature pulse release (which releases in bursts). I used the pulse release feature when making a stew, there was a noticeable increase in the depth of the flavor. Side note: the app also allows you to toggle between the options should you get inpatient. Additionally, thousands of recipes are available via the Instant Brands app (hello Crack Chicken) coupled with a favorites feature that allows you to save your recipes of interest (see photos below). Lastly, the LED screen is just beautiful providing an illuminated sleek, modern look that you won’t mind sitting on your countertop. Although these new features might not be for everyone, the tech-savvy cook will quickly appreciate the flexibility and added convenience the Pro Max provides.

It has defied expectations though, and stays pretty spot and fingerprint free without me having to constantly wipe it down, even living next to my sink and getting splashed frequently. Excellent job with materials, Instant Pot!Functions a lot like my old model, with some cool improvements to safety and functionality. I no longer have to physically vent it, since I can opt for the pot to do that itself. The one downside I haven't found a workaround for is that I used to sometimes release pressure, add more ingredients, and then put the lid back on and reset to cook more. Without being able to manually open the vent, the lid is tricky to get back on while the pot is warm. There may be a way to easily do this, just haven't found it yet! Really nice not to risk putting my hand in a jet of hot steam though! It now has a protective grate over the metal on the lid. This is a huge safety improvement for klutzes like me (they warn you the metal gets hot and it does!). The controls are pretty intuitive, though I did check the manual for one or two things. Pressure cooks just like my original, which always was excellent! Saute is such a fantastic feature, and works much better with the new liner pot that stays put and doesn't spin. No more trying to hold a hot liner still while browning ground beef for chili! I haven't tried canning yet, but as someone who loves to pick berries in summer, I'm looking forward to having some homemade jams without taking up freezer space. Sous vide is the one feature I'm both excited about and a little skeptical of. On one hand, it seems to work fairly well, BUT the temp isn't totally accurate (test with a digital thermometer and adjust as needed, seems to hold temp pretty well though, which is critical). I do also worry about even heating without water circulation. Going to have to keep testing that before giving up my old circulator and plastic pot. Time will tell if it works well enough to ditch them. Definitely would be nice to not need separate bulky equipment to sous vide though, especially in a very small kitchen!I've long given my Instant Pot a spot n my counter despite limited space, because it's such a great multitasker. I make so much, including my dog's meals (he eats fish, which I hate, and I love that I can't smell it cooking), in this gadget. So far the changes generally seem to improve safety and make it smoother to use. The added bonuses of canning and sous vide are great, especially if you are just venturing into either (will be my first time canning!). This version has the added bonus of looking pretty fab if you have it on your counter all the time like I do. A big plus in my book! Unlike some companies that really start jumping the shark with product features, this doesn't have anything that makes me shake my head and wonder what they were thinking. It's simply a great product spiffed up and made even better! I was an instant fan when I got my first pot (pun intended!) and this new one definitely keeps my love going strong....(Was sent this item to review, but opinions are 100% mine and honest.)

The WiFi works as expected, though the App’s delay timer won’t update itself right away if you alter the delay time on the touch display. Having said that the App did provide adequate information on cooking progress. There is a learning curve as this was my first Instant Pot, but I have gone quickly from steaming vegetables to sauteing and made my first absolutely delicious soup in less than a week. Easy cleanup, lots of recipes online or in books and pretty simple operation. The operator manual is a bit cryptic at times or leaves a detail out that would be helpful to a new person to this tool, but some common sense and digging on the internet made it less intimidating and my confidence is high now. I am extremely happy with the price for what I got, it is very easy to clean and my wife loves the meals I'm producing with it. A great fun, versatile and productive tool in the kitchen. Yep, an hour. I controlled the entire cooking process from the app on my phone and it was an incredible experience. The meat was nice and tender and practically fell apart. The potatoes and carrots were soft and delicious. The entire meal was great and my family ate it all up.The only downfall about this unit is that it is going to replace my slow cooker and my rice cooker. Is that really a negative though? I'm just thinking of all the space this unit is going to save me when I put those other two items in storage.I am loving the app and marking recipes that I would love to try with my family. I think I have been converted to the church of the Instant Pot and that is a good thing.

No more spinning pot, no more burning fingers, NONE. It makes a huge difference in my use of the pot.Next thing up is trying out the sous vide functions. I recently passed my large and cumbersome sous vide oven to my neighbor when I heard the new IP had a sous vide function. Yep, before I even tried it. Maybe I am crazy, but I am so excited, if you haven't prepared veggies sous vide, well, you are missing out, I will be trying it out this weekend.|Slow cooker? Yes please. Another appliance I was able to get off my counter. The new display is easy to clean - no crevices to spill chili in (it's happened) and really easy to read. Plus you can control everything from your phone if you want. It's ridiculous and brilliant at the same time. The only downside? When I tried to take a photo it's so reflective I am reminded I need to clean off my kitchen island first. HAHAHHAH.Loving the new IP! Can't wait to play with it more.

Not My First Instant Pot - I LOVE the new features

I've been using my new Instant Pot for almost a month now, and I really love it. This is my third Instant Pot, and there is a ton to love about this one compared to the 6 quart Lux and 10 quart DuoCrisp + AirFryer. I like the simplicity of being able to set the pressure to low, high, or max, depending on what I make, and the twist the button to change the time is a HUGE win compared to the DuoCrisp where I have to press the up/down button to change the time - a frustration when I go from making 5 minute hard boiled eggs to 2 hour chicken stock. I also love the handles to lift the inner pot, which makes it much easier and safer to pour whatever I've made into another container, something I do frequently. My absolute FAVORITE feature though is the notification when the pressure is fully released. I never have to guess if it's done or not - especially when I have a lot of liquid in the pot - and the sound is unique enough that it penetrates my awareness when I'm doing something else. There is also a visual alert at the top that I can see exactly where it is in the process - heating the pot, cooking, releasing, etc. That helps my kids especially who never remember what the number on the front means.I am also SUPER excited that there is a canning feature on this Instant Pot, though I have yet to use it. I make homemade marinara, blueberry syrup, pickles, and more all the time, and I would love to be able to can them. The instructions behind this are lacking, however, which is why I have not yet attempted it.I'm a little confused about the size of this Instant Pot. It states that it is a size quart IP, but when you look at the inner liner, you see a marking for 5 quarts pretty much as the max fill line. I haven't verified by measuring which it is, but whether it's truly 5 quarts or the marking confuses it, I would appreciate more clarity behind that. There is a protector around the pressure valve is great to prevent you from accidentally releasing the pressure. However, you have to fully remove it to manually release pressure, which seems silly. I also didn't securely reattach it the first time, and it fell off when I removed the lid and I almost lost it. That seems like it could be improved. The manual helps, but there are some places where I would love more detail - the canning function, nutrition boost, etc. But I know I'll be able to search for those answers as time goes on.There is also a bluetooth connection so you can control your (plugged in) IP from your phone, which sounds super handy, but I have yet to utilize this either. Granted, when I use my IP, I'm generally in the kitchen, so this is not a make or break feature for me.This is definitely my favorite Instant Pot I've owned so far in terms of features. If I were to make it a 10 quart and incorporate the air fryer lid, this would let me get rid of my "other" Instant Pot. I did already give away my Lux to a neighbor as this one definitely is a much better model and more useful for me.

Quicker meals

I bought this Instant Pot model because I had read reviews saying it cooked food faster than the original Instant Pot. It does, indeed, do that. The pot comes up to pressure more quickly and cooks all foods faster. I noticed this especially when making soup where I had filled the pot to the max line. I also like that I do not have to run to the kitchen to release the pressure for quick release venting because it is automatic on this model. Thirdly, I love that the pot has handles; it’s so effortless to lift the inner pot from the outer casing. As far as the app goes, it works as stated well but I don’t use it often as I’m usually in the kitchen prepping other things so I don’t bother to use program the instant pot with my phone. The only feature I wish it had was the ability to program favourite recipe cook times like one of the other models has. I have yet to use the canning setting but will try that soon. Out of the three models I have worked with, this is definitely the sleekest and fastest. The only issue I’ve had so far is that the inner pot had pock marks after only a few uses but the Instant Pot company sent me a new pot immediately after I contacted customer service. All in all, I love this model and use it at least 3-4 times a week.

Scam Seller
26 August 2023

Do not buy 3rd party - seller advertised as new, bought as a wedding gift, arrived 1 day late and then imagine my surprise receiving a mangled box with a previously USED item; remnants of food and stains still inside. Oops the seller says they "forgot" to mark it refuribished. It was unclean with food stuck on it and for waisting my time, ruining the wedding gift they offered $15 credit. They should be ashamed of themselbves and walmart should remove them.
