I use it multiple times a week for pasta sauces (you can replicate an authentic bolognese with the pressure cooker, using only about 45 minutes of cook time!), soups, making homemade french fries (talk about cheaper than buying frozen!), chicken strips (my favourite fast food item I no longer buy because I can make them just as good at home), rice, chicken thighs, lentils, etc! This purchase has been so worth it.The circulation of air from the lid is better than I expected. I was hesitant to believe it would be very good considering the air flow is coming directly from the top, however it is effective. I'd say its best to put the things that take longer to cook on the top layer, as they will be closer to the heating element and will cook faster. I will even put potatoes on the bottom and chicken on the top layer to cook a meal for one all at once. The size of this instant pot is fantastic. I live alone, however cook family sized meals to have lots of leftovers for lunches and to freeze. The fact everything is dishwasher safe saves me such a headache from cleaning after meals. The settings are easy to use and understand. I am happy to have the brand name instant pot now as most recipes you find online will only correspond to instant pot buttons and settings, meaning higher accuracy with cooking. The pot depressurizes quickly and on its own, meaning you can flip the switch and it'll depressurize while you do other things (which is better than other brands which require you to hold the depressurize button for 1-3 minutes).Considering the size of the instant pot with the air fryer lid, I'd recommend having lots of storage or simply making space on your counter for it. I leave the air fryer lid on it all the time, meaning storing the pressure cooker lid doesn't take up much space.Overall, I definitely recommend this appliance. Nothing is more satisfying than cooking an entire pasta dish, pasta and all, in one pot, and then layering cheese on top and switching to the air fryer lid to get a crisp, cheesy crust. One pot, no preheating of ovens, no transferring from pots to baking dishes, just delicious comfort food all in one appliance. No regrets with this purchase.

An appliance with seemingly endless uses!

I have been considering purchasing this product for a while but just couldn’t seem to justify the price. I ended up buying when it was on sale because it was cheaper at appliances online than anywhere else. I was very happy with the price! The machine itself has so much capability. I use it on a daily basis to air fry the kids dinner, use the sauté function to brown meats for casseroles, made the best juiciest and crispiest pork belly in the air fryer and have used the slow cook function. And that’s only barely scratching that surface of what this machine is truly capable of! It’s already cut down the time it takes to cook my kids dinner from 25mins to 14mins and the pressure cooking/steaming function cooks vegetables beautifully in no time. I’m yet to find something in this machine I’m disappointed in. And I love to cook so if there is something I don’t like I find it almost immediately. One thing I’ve noticed is you might need to purchase an additional steamer basket to use which is probably the only downfall I’ve found at this stage and I’ve had mine for around 4wks. The instructions are easy to follow and the machine guides you the whole way what to do once you turn it on and press a button. In terms of Appliances Online I am actually astounded with this company. I bought this product at 10:30pm and it was on my doorstep before 10:30am!!!! I think that’s the fastest order to delivery turn around I’ve ever had. Absolutely wonderful in my opinion and I will be shopping with them again!!

Disappointed: expected too much from a single appliance
2 February 2022

For years all of my friends have raved about the instant pot. We finally decided to buy one, and decided to buy the biggest and bestest. We love using our traditional air fryer and our traditional pressure cooker and our dhydrator and we HOPED that this ALL-IN-ONE would clear up a lot of space on our counter tops.. Let the games begin: First thing we tried was the pressure cooker. It worked GREAT. Despite having returned this all-in-one DUO crisp we will buy the normal 8QT instant pot pressure cooker only. The Air Fryer was HUGE dissappointment. Unless you are cooking for one, the air-fryer cylinder is not big enough. You end up stacking food on top of itself which of course makes you a slave to the device as you must open/turn every few minutes. The Air Fryer was HUGE dissappointment. Unless you are cooking for one, the air-fryer cylinder is not big enough. You end up stacking food on top of itself which of course makes you a slave to the device as you must open/turn every few minutes. The dehyrdrator, like the air fryer was a disappointment as well. For pretty much the same reason. The cylinder does not allow food placement for equal distribution of heat. The reason we had to return it though was because the pressure cooker top somehow got "stuck" while I was simply hand twisting it for seal on pressure cooker. It ultimately required some leverage (3' fulcrum) to release. In doing so something in top was damaged and we found the pressure release valve would leak, thus requiring us to reseat the top multiple times before pressure cooker would work properly. I believe this "jamming of the top" was due to engineering oversite in allowance for 2 top types. In my opinion, this issue is likely to occur in this specific model To be honest, if I were to tell this story to any of my friends who had recommended Instant Pot it would immediately be considered blasphemy. And as I said above, I will buy the PRESSURE COOKER only version and let my other appliances do the jobs they were designed for. I recommend INSTANT POT, but not this specific MODEL if you REALLY want to do AIR FRYING and DEHYDRATION

Great device and even better customer service

Get ready for a story! I originally purchased the Instant Pot 8 Quart Duo Crisp in 2021 during Black Friday. Fast forward one year, my sister was visiting and placed water and beans into the Instant Pot but without the stainless steel pot. This led to water and beans flowing out from underneath and getting stuck inside. Luckily, we had warranty. Took it it to get fixed or exchanged. Best Buy was great and exchanged it for a new one and shipped it to our home with an anticipated shipping date of 12/19/22. Best Buy is so good at their job that the replacement arrived on 12/15. Having 11 functions in 1 has minimized items in the kitchen and made life so much easier.

More than an airfryer, this is my go-to appliance
22 August 2022

I had been looking for an airfryer for a while. I was also looking for a few different appliances as well, a pressure cooker, steamer and dehydrator that would help me to change the way I ate and what I ate. This was an ideal appliance because it replaces numerous other single function items. It is also convenient and simple to use, as well as being an energy saving option as I only cook for myself, so heating up a big oven for just 10 or 20 minutes of cooking time was wasteful (and time consuming, waiting for the oven to get up to temperature.I am yet to fully explore all the possibilities of this appliance, but already know it will help me to cook healthier food, more easily, and with less mess to clean up.I was considering a cheap standalone airfryer, but ... MoreI had been looking for an airfryer for a while. I look forward to experimenting with the dehydrator and pressure cooking modes even more in the coming months.Delivery was fast, the price was very right (it was on sale, but would still be well worth the money at full price)

Terrible for air frying
10 April 2023

Its a lousy air fryer. Your food is either undercooked or kinda burnt. My cheap basket air fryer worked so much better. This one is very heavy, I can’t use parchment liners because it only has air flow from the very bottom, and it’s incredibly awkward to get the food out of the scorching hot container. My cheap one had a handle where you pull out the basket and shake or dump the food. This is a witches cauldron, comes with an extra piece designed to set your heavy lid on so it doesn’t melt your tabletop, so it takes up 2x as much space when it’s actually in use. I haven’t tried the pressure cooking or roasting etc etc features, maybe it will wow me then. Had a huge dent in it too, but that doesn’t affect anything other than my pride in having spent 180$ since it ... MoreIts a lousy air fryer. Your food is either undercooked or kinda burnt. I wish I had passed on this crazy deal.

Versatile, economic, easy to use & performs as advertised

I chose this model after a lot of research on air fryers. Although towards the upper end of price range by comparison with competitor models it has not disappointed in any respect. The two different heads (pressure cooker and air fryer) and range of easy to use cooking controls confer great versatility and the ability to cook almost anything to perfection once you've familiarised yourself with the instructions and experimented for a couple of weeks. Its just the right size, large enough to cook a whole chicken or a joint of meat for a family but equally effective at quickly cooking a pie, pastie or meal for one. Superb roast potatoes or chips indeed anything we've tried. Well worth the investment if you can afford the initial outlay. Highly recommended.
