I was looking actually for a 12600k but unfortunately it sells like hotcake Sht. Then I happen to check a 12700KF instead in one of the stores here in North Shore. The batch (V138J753) that I got is the same as the one that "Hardware Unboxed" (Intel Core i7 12700KF Review, Core i7 Goes After Ryzen 9!) posted on youtube. it's running now on my Asus Rog Strix Z690-A at 5.1 Gigahertz with core voltage @ 1.296 volts. CinebenchR12 Test stability tested 100% past. Where Can you get wrong, right? So hurry for those first batches of processors. You don't know the next batch if it's a lemon batch or not.

I've had this for a few weeks now and super happy with it. Got it clocked to 5.0 for P cores and 4.0 for E cores at 1.200v override and works great. Getting about 23500-24100 in Cinebench R23 which is fantastic. At 100% load no higher than 80-85 degrees with my 360 AIO (not even running at 100%). Of course CPU's are like snowflakes. No two are the same so your results may differ but from what I've all read about it everyone seems to think it's a great CPU. Cause it is.

As usual it is snappier than DDR4 platforms

I recommend this 12700KF with no graphics chip for the price over the 12900 , with or without the graphics chip. I have only 16GB (2 x 8GB patriot) of 4800 ram, but now the computer feels like a full enough computer for me to get around the internet on. I can try some inexpensive Oloy 5600 next when my two other boards get populated with some Team 3600. I do buy from NewEgg as they are the most releyable for returns when you get memory errors while performing memtest, quicker turn around.

Easily the best CPU rn

The K version has a IGPU which is interesting although completely unnecessary. The KF allows you to over-clock but doesn’t have the IGPU which basically means it’s a regular CPU. It’s a powerful CPU which ( disregarded because of misinformation ) is better than most i9s.

Fantastic

I built a new PC recently, moving on from my old one which had a 5 year old processor (1st gen Ryzen from 2017) which I had been having various problems with due to instability with it and system RAM. The difference is night and day. Everything is so snappy now. Runs at low temperatures. Specs wise with regard to performance it even exceeds the i9 of the previous gen (the 11900k that is) so a pretty good processor. I had really been considering the 12700k but was at my budget on parts and couldn't justify an extra £100 for what User Benchmark says is a 4% performance increase! The 12600k absolutely seems like the best bang for buck CPU at this moment in time.

I was hesitant to go 12th gen Intel when new Ryzen was around the corner, but unfortunately I had components fail on my PC which 'forced' me to replace. After using it for a month or so I can happily say that it was a great choice and smokes my previous Ryzen 7 3700X (no surprise there). I'm using a H100i 240mm AIO and my idle temps are between 25-33 degrees Celsius! I suppose it's mostly the i7 and i9 that struggle with temps because this things runs perfectly cool.

Monster CPU
16 February 2022

Its an absolute beast of a processor. Quite unique from the previous versions. The extra cores and threads really push Intel back to the top of the cpu arena. I came from a strong octocore i7 9700 which is still a good processor. This is nearly 3 times as fast on most task. :-0 Worth the outlay in my opinion. Though Im sure the 12600k would be a decent look too.

I pre-ordered this at the moment it became available after the Intel announcement because I needed to upgrade from my Ryzen 2600 which has been a big bottleneck in my system. Ive been rooting for AMD since Ryzen launched but when I saw the 5600X pricing of basically £300 I decided I'd wait to see what intel brought to the table. £260 for a CPU (12600KF), that contends with the almost £400 5800X, is the clear winner. I have no brand loyalty because corporations don't care. I go wherever best value lies I'm using this with an MSI RX 6800 XT Gaming X Trio and a 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3600MHz CL16 Ballistix kit tuned to 4000MHz CL18, and it been running great. All games pushing well over 100FPS and the CPU itself isn't that hard to keep cool. All games pushing well over 100FPS and the CPU itself isn't that hard to keep cool. I've got it under a Noctua NH U12A Chromax Black, which comes with the LGA1700 bracket in the box, and the 12600KF settles at around 65c in majority of my games which include titles such as: COD MW2019, BF1 and BFV, Forza Horizon 5, GTA V, Mafia Definitive Edition, RDR2, and others I am running it with MCE off which means it uses stock clock speeds. I have seen some cores hit 4.9GHz for a few seconds in very low loads but in gaming the P-cores stay at 4.5GHz and the E-cores bounce between 3.4 and 3.7GHz. Total package power in games stays around 50 to 75W I haven't got other CPUs to bench this against but according to reviews from sources such as Gamers Nexus; LTT and Hardware Unboxed, this i5 beats the 5800X in almost every game, definitively beats the 5600X in all production workloads, and even gives the 5900X tough competition in gaming. For the current pricing it's a better buy than AMD's offering

Very capable, but slightly handicapped without Windows 11

-Last time I built a PC I went solidly mid-range on processor. Given that it's about the most difficult component to replace, I went high-end this time. I wouldn't say I regret getting this one, but I really would have been fine with a 12600 (i5) instead and could have saved $120. I mainly do high-end gaming and photo processing, and I barely tax it at all (at least until I do the big batch exports). If you do more video work or numerical simulations it may be more worthwhile. It'll probably last me a few years longer than my last CPU did, but still not convinced it'll be much difference at that point against the i5. -This CPU seems about the limit of what your average air cooling can handle. With a single-fan CM Hyper 212 Evo 2, it gets to ~80° C ± 5° when running Folding@Home full-throttle. It'll work, even for hours at a time, but you may want to spring for an AIO, or at least a 2nd CPU fan if you're running at 100% max turbo power all the time. -Windows 10 has a few usability issues with the hybrid architecture. It seems any "below normal" or "low" priority processes get sent to the E-cores by the thread scheduler. Most of the time you won't notice, but sometimes high-load tasks are assigned these lower priorities to keep things running smoothly, and in such cases they'll get stuck using just the 4 logical processors on the E-cores and none of the 16 available P-core logical processors. There are tools like Process Lasso to help automatically reassign processes to P-cores, but Windows 10 users will need to keep an eye on task manager to identify if high-load processes are getting stuck on E-cores. This is more a knock against Microsoft than Intel though. Still feels like hybrid architecture is worth having so high-load stuff can go to P-cores and the system still has E-cores to manage essentials and avoid getting choked down. -Fun fact: just the 4 E-cores on this seem faster than the entire CPU that I'm replacing (i5-3570)

I feel bad not overclocking this as it is a K series, but it is already so powerful. It scored 21000 tho lol. so, i would recommend a LARGE COOLER with GOOD AIRFLOW IN THE CASE. This is a hot one. ALSO it will consume far over the 150 watts. Power draw with Cinebench had it at around 205 watts.
