Be aware! Leaks from faulty seams

I bought this boat in the fall from Cabellas in Nanaimo B.C. I inflated for the first time in the Spring. Big leaks in each pontoon. No possible warranty because I did not use it within 2 months.Cabelas and Mariner just brushed me off. I took it to a professional dealer for Zodiacs who tried to fix it. But the leaks are deep inside lapped crevices where there is no possibility of apatch. I am surprised that Cabellas continues to sell such an inferior product. Mine is now in the landfill.

Bought two of these boats and both started leaking along the seams within a couple of weeks after I started using them. Given it was a couple of months after purchase, no warranty on the product. I am very disappointed given these are essentially now heavy pieces of plastic junk.

Fails at the seams where inflatable perimeter meets floors. Developed many slow leaks that are on seams and cannot be repaired. Happens after warranty period expires, of course. Save your money for a proper dinghy that will last years and can also take a higher power motor.

I have heard a lot of good things about this boat and after doing some research online along with many youtube videos I decided to make a purchase.I bought this boat on sale in Abbotsford BC a week and a half ago. Came home, inflated it, within 1 hr the right tube lost all the air. Well, I'm not one of those guys who would go and return something over a pin hole which may possibly could have been punctured by me somehow, who knows, so I found it, patched it, held for 3 days! Here comes the weekend, so today drove over to a local marina with the boat inflated on top of my pickup truck and as soon as I dropped it into the river, water started to sip through the seams where it was originally folded.Lesson learned. Never again. Never again. At this point in time I can't return it due to the patch, and I don't think it's worth my time to try and patch something that had let me down twice now. I better use this time to work and save money to buy quality product.

Very good value, excellent quality for the price. Easy to inflate with the pump provided, just remember to put the floor in prior to inflation Just follow the procedure as per instructions and you wont have any problems. I also bought the motor mount for this and a Minn Kota 30lbs thrust electric motor. Everything works fantastic and it is very relaxing exploring the canals and rivers in virtual silence. The important thing to remember is you do require insurance and a licence to operate this boat on the inland waterways. I got the insurance for 20 and the licence for 104, this allows you to use the boat 30 times during the course of a year, if you buy a full year licence youre looking at 500 If you decide to have an electric motor dont forget youll need a leisure ... MoreVery good value, excellent quality for the price. Intex does not supply replacement oars
6 June 2021

I bought this boat last year (2020) and broke one of the paddles. They are impossible to replace. Over the winter I ordered replacement paddles directly from Intex for $30 CDN. They come from Europe so the shipping was another $30. They shipped the wrong oars and to return would cost another $30. This year Intex are not even listing oars in their catalogue. So basically the boat is now useless and I have had to purchase another brand. I have tried sourcing oars from Amazon and eBay but you need 54" oars that mount on the oar lock, which I have not been able to locate.

Only good for one season
9 June 2020

I bought this last year, in the middle of summer. I got to use it 4 times last summer, after which I folded and stored it as per the instructions, in my basement for the winter. I pulled it out to go fishing this spring, and there are 3 pin holes in the side walls. I then applied the supplied patching tape, as per the instructions, and the tape did not hold air for more then 3 hours on the water. I have reached out to Cabela's, who just pass you off to the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer multiple times, getting no response from Intex either by phone or online form submission. Be warned, do not deflate this boat to store it, and neither company will help you out if anything goes wrong. I wanted to love this boat, now I just don't trust it.

Solid and Stable Inflatable Boat
21 December 2021

Bought nit in the summer. Used it three time so far. It was solid built and stable on the water. I put a trolling motor in it and went on to river. It was fun. The only problem is that it is bit heavy and could not carry it by myself after inflated. It will be great if a trolly is available to move it around.

Very nice Intex Mariner 3
6 June 2021

I had good luck with this Intex Mariner 3 boat. This Intex Mariner 3 color looks extremely nice and clean in person. However, the flooring is white can get dirty very easy. But there’s product you can buy to keep it clean and shiny after each used. My suggestion is when you get it in a box delivered to your house. Let it sit for 72 hours before open the box and inflate the boat because during hot and cold weather it can cracks or splits PVC. Also follow the instruction and use a measure piece that comes with the boat to measure the lines when you inflate the boat. Do not over inflate the boat because in the sun is hot the PVC boat will expand that can results in PVC to splits. It was a great buy for me. For trolling motor I had Minn Kota C2 30 lb thrust mounted on this boat. The motor push this boat well but moving slow other word is better than paddle. I switched to Minn Kota C2 40 lb thrust and I think is perfect for this boat. Don’t go crazy and get 55 lb thrust motor because is bulky and too heavy. It will sag on the boat.

You have to read my review....

So after considering an inflatable “raft” for my wife and I to float down the river, I decided to spend a bit more and get the Intex Mariner 3. Dealing with businesses and products these days has left me a bit jaded with the stores and a bit sceptical of the claims made for many products. Still firmly rooted in my scepticism, I picked up a Mariner 3 at Cabelas while it was on special. To my surprise, Cabelas had plenty of stock, and sold it to me with a smile at the sale price (which is often not the case at a large Tire store in Canada...)!Now to try it out. To my surprise, Cabelas had plenty of stock, and sold it to me with a smile at the sale price (which is often not the case at a large Tire store in Canada...)!Now to try it out. I had in mind a plastic “raft” style floating device useful for lazy floats down the river, and was genuinely surprised at what I got. I took it to my favourite fishing pond for a shakedown cruise, and followed the instructions for inflation. The only hitch: put the hard floor in BEFORE inflating the chambers, the rest went exactly as the instructions outlined. Why was I surprised? This is not a toy raft, it is a BOAT!Thick, reinforced, rugged vinyl walls, sturdy, well attached lanyard points, excellent handles, a thick, strong, stable floor, well designed oarlocks, and a comfortable, stable boat that will even take an outboard motor. And best of all, no trailer, no registration, a bag that stores in your garden shed, even after the second use, leaves me smiling. This boat is certified for use in Canada, USA and EU, is it is well made and safe if used according to the instructions. Even the manual pump works well, I had pre-judged it and bought an electric pump before even trying it, I may not have needed it. It even deflates the chambers with a simple switchover of the pump tube, sucking extra air out to make more compact folds for storage. The only accessory I have purchased is an anchor with 50 feet of rope. Maybe this year will see a motor. If you fish, get an anchor, the wind does move the boat around somewhat. I rowed for quite a distance, the inflatable keel keeps it straight and makes for good handling. Two larger people is probably as many as you would want, not for capacity, but for space reasons.I unload, set up, take down and load it myself, with all accessories and pieces in the bag. However, it is best to consider it a two person job to do that, it can get pretty heavy.Unless you go boating a lot, forget the 14 foot aluminum boat and trailer, and just get one of these, maybe the Mariner 4 if you need more space. Then get a Minnkota 30 inch 30 lb thrust trolling motor and a motor mount kit. Get a deep cycle battery and go fishing. You will love this economical, practical quality boat.
