Cheapwr alternative, keeps kids cool

Bought this two years ago, and again this year. We accidentally nicked a corner with the lawn mower, so that is why we bought another. It is a good pool in my opinion, contradictory to a lot of the other reviews. It's a blow up pool so it obviously isn't meant to be roughed around with, sharp items need to be kept away and when it is blown up, should be on a flat surface away from poke-y things (sticks.. crushed stones.. fences.. etc). My kids are 11, 11 and 13 and take care of this thing like gold as it keeps them cool and they do play in it quite a lot. It isn't a big pool but it does the trick. My dog even goes in there and has pretty sharp dew claws, and hasn't poked a hole in there yet. If you use it carefully it will last you a few summers at the least. Easy to clean, no need for expensive chemicals etc. I really do think it's a good product. I also like that it's big enough to hold enough water for a decent cool-off session, but small enough to move around the yard so the grass it sits on doesn't have to die.

I then bought another one this year, the model is slightly different, with a design on the blue part of the pool but nonetheless, pretty much the same. The first time I blew it up and used it, the top ring deflated overnight. The bottom stays inflated, the top, does not, after the first use which was disappointing since I live in Port Dover and drove to Stoney Creek to buy this due to it being out of stock pretty much everywhere. So basically, buy at your own risk. You might get one that works or one that deflates. Leaks air, weak material tears easily

The pool could have been great if they just used slightly thicker material. As it is - the walls of the pool are about as thick as that of a cheap beach ball. In addition, the material keeps expanding after days of usage and becomes more and more fragil - until it can be easily torn with a fingernail. After a week of using the pool we had to patch two holes in the sides and three in the bottom. The pool was placed on foam and the kids always washed their feet before entering it. How much more can the thing be pampered?! The top ring valve is also defective and leaks the air - we have to pump the pool up every 2 days or risk all the water spilling in our backyard. I do not recommend this pool even on sale if you value your sanity and time.

Love it in theory...
31 July 2022

I bought this for my two kids (9 & 11) to splash around in. It's a perfect size for them to cool off in and they were very excited to get it all set up. We let it sit for a few hours with the intention of letting it warm up a bit before they went in it. Unfortunately, they never got back in it as there is an air leak somewhere I can't find and it will only stay inflated for a limited amount of time. Great idea and a great price, but it unfortunately didn't work out for us.

Ok pool for the price
9 August 2021

Ok quality for the price. Pool is a bit smaller than our last blow up we had but it cools the kids off and they have fun jumping into it (ages 9, 7, 3). There was some chemical or something on the bottom that burnt our grass after the first use. Undetectable until we deflated it and took the water out. We cleaned the bottom really well and it still killed our grass a little after the second use! We only keep these pools up for a max of 2 days before we empty them and move them to another area of the yard. Overall it’s an ok purchase but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

Ok, but clearly not expected to last
21 May 2021

Bought this for my toddler as it's large enough for 1 or 2 adults to sit in as well. Inflation is simple with a compressor, but I wouldn't want to do it manually. Found we needed to shock the pool with a capful of bleach every other day and empty and wash it out with mild dish soap once a week to prevent algae growth. Having spend one summer in full sun, it held up well, although with only gentle use. Don't know how it would fare with more rambunctious use. The bottom also seems to be made of a thinner material which could be prone to puncture. After removing it from storage and setting it up for the second summer, I'm unsure if it will last the season. There seems to be a small slow air leak, which should be easy enough to patch if it can be located. It's ok for gentle use, but it's definitely spurred investigation of a more permanent solution for our family.

Perfect for a small garden pool for the kids
20 August 2022

Having read some reviews we thought it best to read the instructions in full so as to avoid the dreaded punctures etc.We did, the pool inflated fine with a plastic tablecloth underneath to avoid any small stones etc. It's bigger than we expected, firm sides but not to sit upon, and the pool held the water fine (on flat ground of course).Great value at Smyths price too. Our 2 grandsons had a great time in it.

Very disappointed, at least it was cheap!
7 August 2022

I bought this pool a few weeks ago on sale and set it up this weekend as my granddaughter was visiting. Initially it looked good for the price but fortunately I had a patch kit on hand. There wound up being nine tiny cuts located around the inflatable rings of the pool that looked like identical puncture marks which I fixed but there were obviously more holes than I had patches. At least she enjoyed it for three hours and when I looked outside a bit later it was mostly deflated and emptying itself. Not impressed.

What an AWESOME little economy pool!!
18 July 2018

I bought this pool about three weeks ago. I absolutely adore it. I keep it tarped at night with the help of some rope and tent pegs, and its usually about the perfect temp to hop into and cool off in. I've read other users complaining about leaking(hasn't happened with mine)and some air escaping from the top ring, making an awful lot of people complain. First of all, the sides are not seats; they're SIDES. They're not meant for sitting on. I changed the water, cleaned, and refilled the pool three or four days ago and just today topped up the air with a little handy dual action hand pump. Lots of inflatables lose a bit of air....just top it up a bit and you're good to go. Lots of inflatables lose a bit of air....just top it up a bit and you're good to go. My neighbors are jealous....especially in plus 32 when they hear the splashing coming from the yard. I'm just figuring out how to extend the water life so I don't have to refill as often(i.e, seeing how much or even if I can add some pool chemicals to it to keep it fresh and clean longer). There is nothing wrong with this pool, for what it is. Its a fun little thing to have in your back yard for the hot days. The people that are complaining might be a bit rough with this pool. Easy does it, don't jump on the sides, don't abuse it. Because it is a vinyl material, I think when it comes time to pack up for the winter, I'll be cleaning and drying it out and CAREFULLY packing it up and bringing into the house to keep it safe from frigid winter temps, since I have room to store it in the house. I'd assume our minus 40 winters would be awful hard on this material if its not kept sheltered and protected. This pool holds more than enough water and is large enough for at least four average sized adults. I'm 5'4 and can sit in this, submerged to the middle of my diaphragm, and can stretch out with room to spare. LOVE THIS, but it needs to be properly taken care of. This is not a pool for rambunctious kids. If your kids want to roughhouse in the pool, get a much larger quick set or metal sided pool. GET THIS. You won't reget it; just take proper care with it. Cheers.
