This always the 1st thing to buy after ordering a new iPad. I use this on my 11" iPad PRO, 1 TB with Nano-Texture glass. So no matter where I use my iPad, indoors on the sofa, or on a sunny day looking at a trail map during a hike, I'm always well-prepared.The new iPad PRO is much thinner than my 2nd Gen, so when paired with the Magic Keyboard, it is thinner as well. The track pad feels smoother that previous. The hand rests, since they are aluminum, are always cool to the touch when typing, hence comfortable, at least for myself. It is thinner, so it fits in my work bag, man bag, and backpack easier. It feels lighter as well. It also provides protection. If you buy one, after purchasing your new iPad PRO, you likely won't regret it. The new row of function keys ... The fit and finish of this keyboard are top-notch, but for the price, a few things are lacking that should be standard on a premium product. For example:1. Opening the keyboard is difficult, especially with the pencil attached. There should be a tab or indent built in to assist with opening.2. There is no protective flap to secure the pencil. This, in my opinion, is an inexcusable omission as the pencil can get knocked off and lost with almost no effort. With the price of the pencil, it needs to be better protected from loss, and this should be part of a premium keyboard if the design is for it to sit on top of the device exposed. This is especially true for a product advertised as "Pro" that will be used daily where the loss of a key piece of kit could ... There should be a protective sleeve with this keyboard if removing the device is the only way to use it.Although this is an excellent keyboard, some design elements are lacking, and for the price, should have been considered or included. I still recommend the keyboard but know that there are limitations that you may be frustrated by, especially when paying a premium price, and that also creates the need to buy additional items to make up for, such as an additional sleeve/folio.

Paired to an M4 iPad Pro 13, it’s the perfect companion to truly turn your tablet experience into a fully realized computer experience. The keyboard is large enough to type comfortably once you get used to the key arrangement, and it’s definitely a plus that you can not only protect your iPad from damage, use a USB-C pass-through to charge your tablet, but also allow your viewing experience to adjust on a slight swivel (although limited). The only con is not being able to fully collapse the keyboard and case to 180-degree angle for a full booklet experience, but this is a minor gripe. The keyboard itself includes all of the necessary function keys and is illuminated. The trackpad is wide and very responsive, too! Moreover, it’s the sleek sensation of the whole case ... Either way, you won’t be disappointed in your investment once you take the plunge to grab this absolutely necessary accessory.

I like the new design of the keyboard buttons with the extra rows for your shortcut keys. The trackpad is as big as a MacBook Pro's now which makes it great to use. Not saying that the older gen was hard to use, but having a bigger trackpad, it makes it easier. I like that it's lighter and that the USB-C port now supports 35W. If you are buying the new M4 iPad Pros, you don't have a choice as the older version will not work due to the new arrangements of the magnets now. If you are planning on using this as a semi-replacement for your MacBook, then you will need this keyboard. Again, $350 is too expensive, but I haven't had a chance to try out the other ones like Logitech or ESR to be able to recommend those. One thing to keep in mind is that since they change the ... One thing to keep in mind is that since they change the hinge area to make it smaller, the iPad has a greater chance of tipping over as it becomes top heavy. So just be mindful of that and maybe don't angle it all the way.
Knocking a star off for the ridiculously high price tag on this. Otherwise, it’s completely amazing. Navigates like butter and has a really pleasant way of being attracted to a likely click point like a magnet making it easy to point and click. I’ve used it quite a bit with Logic Pro for iPad and I really love it. The keyboard transforms the m4 iPad Pro into something more like a computer. It’s so good, I wanted it to run macOS, but as of now it still cannot. Yet, the iPad Pro 11” and Magic Keyboard are an attractive alternative for creative minded people. The pickup and use factor is much greater for me on the iPad which is what it is all about. I’ve done lots of recording already and I am going to make a lot of music with this setup, and it is very powerful. I ... MoreKnocking a star off for the ridiculously high price tag on this. I’ve done lots of recording already and I am going to make a lot of music with this setup, and it is very powerful. I pick it up all the time where the laptop collects a lot more dust. The Magic Keyboard makes the experience so much better than touch screen alone for me. Buttery smooth navigation and the keys feel great. I have big hands and I can still make it work. It balances very well I think. You can use it in your lap unlike a standard surface pro. One minus is that I feel fixed to landscape view and feel like I would need to purchase an extra case to ditch the keys if I wanted to draw in portrait mode for example.
I upgraded from the 11” iPad Air M1 to the 13” iPad Pro M4 with the intention of also replacing the MacBook Pro I wasn’t often using. On the other hand, I use my iPad almost more than my phone. The Magic Keyboard is the piece that really brings this idea together nicely.I’ll admit, I didn’t use the previous ‘soft touch’ models, however the new aluminum one feels like typing on a MacBook. The function row is great, the track pad is big and it just feels great to use.My only ‘cons’ are that the iPad is a little top heavy so if it’s in your lap on the couch/bed/recliner, and can want to tip over if your hand isn’t on the wrist rest area. Also, the aluminum looks and feels great, but you have to be careful not to scratch either device with metal to metal contact. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase and ultimately deciding to give up my MacBook in favor of this setup. I hope to see some more function from iPad OS 18, but am just as happy is that doesn’t happen.Oh, one last thing. It’s very expensive for a keyboard. It’s still, just a keyboard. That isn’t functional wirelessly (the dream).
I bought the keyboard with high hopes of liking it and it some ways I did. Apple added a row of function keys which is great. I ended up returning it for the following reasons. I saw some YouTube videos where the keyboard scratched the screen. I guess you could put a screen protector on but I never have and wasn’t going to. The hinged is shorter than the last model which makes it hard to attach the charging cable but that’s not a real big deal. The hing being shorter lends the keyboard to be less stable. When touching the iPad when on the keyboard the iPad falls backwards. I wanted the keyboard but I don’t really need it for what I do but would have kept it if not for these drawbacks, it very expensive not to be totally happy. I will look at some other options.
Ok… enough said with the price, we all know it’s VERY expensive! But ok, we bought them and we will continue, it seems…. So let’s talk about the keyboard and not the price. The best trackpad ever on these type of keyboards!! What makes it great? The haptic feedback and the size! Apple continues to make the best trackpads, now doubt about it. The keys are really good as well, I like the travel and feel of it… and did I mention the function keys?? It’s cool that they are here! Like, I wouldn’t make a big deal on the previous ones… they weren’t there and I was like meh, but now that they are here it’s a welcome commodity.I also love that now we can fast charge on the bottom of the Magic Keyboard instead of on the iPad itself. So yeah, it’s the best one yet.BUT!!!I find the metal exposed hinge harsh, slippery and annoying! The previous models wouldn’t slip while placed vertically to open it…. Yes I know, perhaps I shouldn’t open it like this but I do 9 out of 10 times. I guess I’m gonna have to get used to setting it flat on a surface and open it like a MacBook Pro. But I would never have the need for this with the previous ones. So, yeah, is it a huge deal? Yes and no, I hate this issue but do I hate it enough to return it? No. I will keep it. Ni modo :/
This is honestly the best part of the new iPad Pro M4. This keyboard case is such a great upgrade over the previous version. The keys are just as good, but you get the added function row and the trackpad is larger and has haptic feedback. It’s everything I could have dreamed of. I especially like the added touch of aluminum on the palm rest. It really makes you feel like you are getting what you pay for. I only wish that the aluminum Carried over to the bottom of the keyboard. Now that would be an awesome touch. The rubbery material on the outside of the keyboard does tend to attract fingerprints, so I decided to put a skin on is right out of the box.My only gripe with this keyboard, which if I’m honest is nit picking, is that the newer hinge seems to have a ... I think it’s because the iPad is further back when open on this new keyboard. They did design the hinge to be flat and exposed on this model, but it may have needed a bit more tightness in the hinge. But, overall, It really doesn’t bother me. The keyboard is absolutely fantastic and is the best companion to the new IPad Pro. I honestly haven’t used my MacBook at all since I bought this keyboard with my new iPad. It truly is such a a great upgrade and was what made me want the new iPad. If you haven’t seen it in person, go check it out in stores and you will see what I mean.
I recently upgraded from a second gen 13-inch iPad Pro to the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro, and this meant updating all my accessories. I previously had the Magic Keyboard for my iPad and although I liked the way it worked, I didn't like how easy it was to show signs of dirt and wear, both inside and out (I actually had to purchase a second Magic Keyboard mid-life because the first one tore at the seam. With the new one I find a MASSIVE departure from those experiences. Firstly, I went what would've been considered in the opposite direction for a person that loves to have their tech impeccable and chose a white case. After reading reviews and watching multiple YouTube videos, almost everyone mentioned that white cases stood up much better to daily wear and tear. With nearly 2 months of having the case, it's perfectly white and doesn't show a single fingerprint on the outside.Inside is where it shines. This actually feels like a MacBook, with keys that are more responsive and an actual aluminum body that surrounds the keys and the trackpad. When opening it you feel the heft (yet not so stiff as the previous gen) and when closing it looks like a metallic book since the edge of the iPad lays perfectly flush. And another plus is that the keyboard has its passthrough USB C charging port on the right, while the iPad has it's charging port on the left, which means you can always charge it conveniently regardless where your power plug is sitting.I did purchase an open-box model in Excellent condition to save a few $$$, so this offset a bit of the steep price tag for the keyboard, but definitely worth it.
