Apple. We ain’t trippin

It’s what you expect from Apple, personally my phones get beat on pretty bad, I’m in the dirt, mud, rain, snow, from 90* to -30, everything MN weather conditions have to offer not to mention it gets dropped, tossed and just treated like a red headed stepchild.Other than being dipped in acid my phone is everywhere I am and I don’t use the bulky waterproof, crush proof cases, just a screen protector and a decent case.I’ve had Apple since the iPhone 4s and the only time I’ve had a problem is when it was my fault. As long as apple keeps the cost fair, stays up on the quality end of the spectrum and maintains a (keep it simple stupid) approach to their engineering so my Neanderthal brain can operate them, I wouldn’t by anything else.

I needed to replace my old iPhone so looked around and decided the iPhone 14 was the best fit for me. It is the entry level phone but still packs a punch, with new features and faster processing power.I love the fact that the whole screen is now viewable and there seems to be fewer issues with apps crashing. You cannot deny the cost makes it a 'considered' purchase, but there are options to buy and cash back on old phone etc.I chose John Lewis as they provide a 2 year warranty although the sales people did not have the full knowledge and understanding as the Apple Store team.Overall I am really pleased with the phone and looking forward to another 5years of usage 👍🏻

The battery on my 5.5 year old iphone 7 was failing so rather than buy a new battery I decided to put the cost of a battery replacement towards a New iphone and buy the latest iphone 14.This is quite an upgrade on my old phone, bigger and clearer screen, Facial Recognition, no Home Button, much improved camera are the main points but there is more.I wasnt disappointed, it is a considerable upgrade, not having changed my phone for so long saved me a lot of money but I certainly appreciated the significant improvements. Apart from the visualimprovements in size, screen quality etc the main improvement is battery life.Overall, I'm delighted, I cant fault it, if you can afford it, buy it.

Excellent product
25 January 2023

Better than any other iPhone I have had.Faster to respond and fairly easy to understand for an octogenarian like me.I'm still a bit of a technophobe, but my wife helped with the very easy set up and transfer of stuff from one phone to the other.Battery life is great-as you would expect from a new phone, but this does seem exceptional to me.Display is clear and easy to read. I do have a bit of trouble with my eyes these days, but this phone is good is great and easy to read.Taking pictures is a doddle and quality of photos is superb.Very pleased with the phone so far.

First Iphone and it seems fine.

This is my first iPhone I have ever bought for myself. I have worked on plenty of them and as both Android and iPhone evolve, I am starting to see a lot of likenesses with some differences. Honestly if they both take from each other we could all have the perfect phone. If you are a regular iPhone buyer, don't upgrade from the 13 unless you are worried about getting in an accident. If you are an old iPhone user, this is a great upgrade. The face id is nice but some of the latest Android phones use face id and drop you into your home screen, not the iPhone it unlocks it and you have to swipe up. This does not bug me but if that is important keep it in mind. I like to close my back ground tasks which Android has a close all, but iPhone doesn't. The App store does not really compare the iPhone takes down Android and everyone else. Like Android, iPhone tries to keep you in the garden which is fine, but Apple is flexible enough to allow all your android services to move over to your iPhone which is nice. The hardware is on par with some of the top Android phones in some areas, but Apple is superior in photo and smoothness. The top Android phones do have the smoothness and quality photos but do not have the extra features for picture processing. You won't suffer having either, but the iPhone pricing is on par with the top Android phones and why not go with some superior hardware? Some feel they get better support with Apple; this comes at a cost, but I understand it. Apple like Google makes sure that you will likely run out of space and will offer to only charge you a nominal amount each month to increase your storage. I call this a toss up, because both companies do this practice. As far as moving from Apple to Apple or even Android to Apple, it was very simple as long as you know your passwords going into the process. I hope this helps some of you decide, the larger screen of the plus is wonderful for my older eyes, but my son prefers is regular iPhone.

Happy with new iPhone despite being an old technophobe!
16 March 2023

Took a while to commit to changing older iPhone - irritated by Apple ceasing support - but now pleased with new upgrade. Relatively simple to transfer data etc. but would have been nice if there had been a warning that some apps needed to be reconfigured once installed. Bigger screen is advantageous for viewing, however the size needs some getting used to as it is no longer pocket size.Impressed with camera - we had a major 7000 plus starling murmuration near our property and were really appreciative of video function.Shame Apple cannot provide a screen protector as standard given the financial outlay!Great easy transaction via John Lewis, excellent delivery and the cash back for old phone service was fine. Ended up with a small TV as well.

I miss my Motorla Android
4 April 2023

Ok, I'll admit that I'm still getting used to it. But here's the thing, my Motorola G7 battery would last a full three days, and even when the charge got below 15%, I never worried about it. The iPhone 14 eats battery like there is no tomorrow. You pretty much have to charge it every day. It seems like the iPhone is using lots of resources trying to read your mind and giving you suggestions. Yet, when you really need to do something, you have to look up 'how to' online. Yes, the pictures are much better, and the storage is huge. Those are the best things I can say about it. It annoys me that you can't archive texts like you can on Android. The combined email app gets on my nerves. Even at the bargain price, the iPhone costs four times your typical Android with ... MoreOk, I'll admit that I'm still getting used to it. It's Ok
4 March 2023

I upgraded from an iPhone 12mini in which I loved the size but could no longer see very well without reading glasses even with its enlarged text) so I could have much better enlarged text and for the crash technology. I ride horseback alone alot so I was hoping this would be good in case of a bad fall but it states can NOT detect all crashes so disappointing in that respect. It also seems to have some of the same quirks that the old phone has. I do like the battery life. Haven't had long enough to use other features. At least I seemed to get a good a good trade in value without having to change to a more expensive plan so thank you Verizon (I am a long time customer)

Love this phone!!
14 December 2022

I love it! I was a little leary of getting a new phone do to having learn all the things that I took for granted on my iPhone 6 plus. I have been pleasantly surprised. Learning this phone has been so simple. Things have run so smoothly and as much as I hated giving up my iPone 6 plus, I am glad this is the phone I chose to replace it. One many of the things I have found to be easier is not having a home button. It actually gives you more freedom by not having to push the home button to do things. The only downside I have found is a couple of apps I use are not available for the 14 plus. They will be but not yet. I rate this phone a 10 because in my opinion, it has earned it.

Very nice, but ...
16 February 2023

I've got used to the larger size and other differences from my beautiful pink/gold SE. BUT there's no slot for plug-in headphones. This is not only annoying, but a design fault. EarPods do not always connect when it would seem they have - my husband has the same issue - and as I'm often listening to the radio at 4am I need to be sure there's no escape of sound. So I have to keep my old phone for nocturnal listening. Add extra functions by all means, but don't remove useful old ones. The sound escape from EarPods is also an issue. I can often hear a mumble from them when my husband is learning Italian, supposedly silently. Otherwise Apple is great. Brilliant after sales service, best in the world in our view.
