about My use: I upgraded from 11 pro--> 14pro. I use it for messaging, email, internet, rare social media, reading articles, watching videos, zoom meetings, and day-to-day photos of things like pets/family, nice sunset. I'd say I'm an "average" user, nothing fancy.Pros: Photo quality and zoom are very good. Excellent screen vibrancy. The "dynamic island" is a cute touch but not life-altering or worth the hype (yet).Cons: it's heavy! The battery dies quickly (way faster than my 11 pro), + the processor seems slow despite stopping background apps! I cannot seem to figure this out. It is no faster than my 11 pro and the "5g" network is always congested. I just expected better with this upgrade. Looking back I would have been happy with the 13 pro, or maybe the 12 pro.

I am very upset about this phone. I upgraded from IPhone 8 Plus which I loved, but it was going to be unsupported this year. I’ve had nothing but issues with this phone. The main reason I bought this phone was for the camera. The camera is awful! When recording if you zoom you can see horrible jumping between the lens, makes the video very choppy. Also mid video it goes blurry all the time and messes up a lot of my shots. I’ve attached a compilation of a few of the many messed up videos. I took it to apple and they replaced the camera, and still didn’t fix it.There is a clear connectivity issue, many times I have 2-3 bars showing but I don’t get service or data! I switched from the 22 Ultra to the 14 pro. I can say majority of my friends and family have apple. I was sucked in. I don’t know how Apple does it but the battery last so much longer than the Ultra which has a 5000MAH battery. Going to work with the ultra and taking the subway I listen to music. From the moment I leave home and arrive to work the ultra is down to least 85% battery which includes playing games on the train as well or using apps. Using the 14 pro doing the same thing my battery is at 95% arriving at work. Text messages is fluid and I can see when it is delivered compared to Samsung and just take a guess. This phone feels great in the hand, it’s not too Heavy nor is it too awkward when you’re holding it. I LOVE the dark purple color. There are some things that I am uncertain on how to use, and some of the features are returning without any significant change. Some are completely different. Not having the home button took at little getting used to and getting it to power on and off is a bit different. Over all, I love this phone. Except for one slight issue. The glass on the phone. It’s supposed to be this exceptional “tough as nails” unbreakacle type of glass. The industry lead and all that. Well let me tell you, it didn’t last a whole day!!! Dropped from a height of about 3 feet, it didn’t land on a corner, it landed flat. To be honest I was quite miffed. My biggest complaint is it auto adjusts brightness so every time I’m on it it just randomly adjusts to another brightness. I use my phone primarily at night so when I’m having to be blinded by my screens brightness being auto adjusted it gets annoying. Another huge issue is it edits your photos. I’ve screen recorded and sent it to Apple and they said it can’t be fixed it’s in the programming. You get better audio, cameras (depends how the phone feels not the conditions) a huge screen improvement (can kill your battery based off settings) It charges faster.I would say if you're leaning towards upgrading, I would possibly do a 14plus or wait for the 15 series, if I had the option I truly wouldn't have upgraded as it was a pretty bad experience, and I am experiencing screen issues already 3 weeks in to treating this iPhone more carefully than any other.

I know this is definitely personal preference, but having come from the sleek & thin XS, this phone feels like a boxy downgrade and all the side controls feel like they're in the way. I know this return-to-old external design was rolled out with the 12, but if you've got an 11 or older and are bothered by sensory things/tactile experience, go to the Apple store and try this out in hand before you buy it. The main plus for me is the dynamic island. It makes viewing critical info from other apps a breeze. Still on the fence as to whether I will return this. I don't usually go for the newest tech but it made sense financially with the trade in value, otherwise I'd have been paying the same price for older tech. So I'm hopeful iOS and third party apps will catch up and the 5G connectivity issues will be resolved.

The only issues I had was transferring my data from the 13 to this phone. I had never had as hard of a time as I did this time. However, I think it as user error. The other issue is there no 5g in my area yet. Fortunately, I use my WiFi majority of the time so it’s not a dealbreaker. The battery life is great, even with the always on being on it. I treat my devices very gently and always purchase protective covers etc. I’ve only had my device a week and noticed 2 chips in the camera lenses, which eventually created a crack across the lens. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Steve, the store manager, and he wouldn’t even look at the phone. He says it was obviously struck. I assured him that it was not struck.
