My husband found this on Steam for us to play together. I'm not usually a video game person, but this is adorable. The story hit home with us; married couple with a young kid dealing with money, work, and time. But even if it isn't your story, you'll love the worlds and images. The characters were well thought out and it feels very immersive. The main story is enjoyable the side games are very cute. This is a true co-op where you have to play together and help each other, but can also have some fun small competitions. It was hard to stop. We got to almost 100% completion. We played it just the two of us until we finished the story, and then had our 8-year-old play it with us too. He enjoyed it as well. Highly recommend for couples.

I am so glad I bought it it is amazing. It’s a husband and wife in the game and they hate each other and it’s so funny they have to fight squirrels and do different things together and in the end they will love each other. But it’s so funny and there’s so many different worlds and if you’re looking for something cool to do with your husband or boyfriend girlfriend partner this is the game for you. Best Couch Co-op In A While

Title says it all - this is the best couch co-op game I've played in years. My partner and I had been looking for more co-op games to play together, and after seeing trailers for this we grabbed it on sale to try out. We had such a blast! You truly have to work together and cooperate to complete each puzzle in the game. We were impressed by how creative and imaginative each of the levels were, and the storyline and character growth were both engaging and relatable. I would recommend this game for adults or older teens. We started off on the PS4 version and about halfway through realized we could upgrade to the PS5, so we finished the playthrough on the 5 version. Both versions handled well, but I enjoyed that the PS5 version took advantage of the unique DualSense ... MoreTitle says it all - this is the best couch co-op game I've played in years. Note that only one person needs to actually own the game if playing online. Of course, both players do need to have active PS+ memberships. Perfect game to play with your partner. Wholeheartedly recommend!

Good, meaningful game

I saw a bad review saying the game is "demonizing divorce" and it gets "impossibly hard" early on. The game is about a divorcing couple who plan on going through the act but haven't thought that their problems could actually be solved if they paid attention to the details in each others lives and bothered to communicate. The couple just bicker and never took the time to communicate nor fully took the time to respect each other's passions and interest. The point isn't to "demonize marriage;" it is that sometimes some problems are not as bad they seem if the time is taken to communicate and embrace and analyze the problem. Also, I am not sure why someone would buy a game without reading up on it? Implusive purchases, impulsive decisions in general will lead to ... MoreI saw a bad review saying the game is "demonizing divorce" and it gets "impossibly hard" early on. Also, I am not sure why someone would buy a game without reading up on it? Implusive purchases, impulsive decisions in general will lead to disappointment. As for difficulty, if you have played video games for awhile, it is not really difficult. It is a mixture of several genres, like third person puzzler/platformer, shooters, raceing games, fighting games, and more. my significant other bought the game and I played it with her. She is not at all accustomed to gaming, nor skillful at games, especially with a controller. She didn't get to play video games growing up. We managed to beat the game despite her constant struggling, and she thoroughly enjoyed the game and would play it again. She came out of the game with improvement on her overall hand-eye coordination and reaction time, evident in other games in which she struggled more in before. I absolutely had no issues with controls, nor did I find the game really challenging. I was able to solve most puzzles and challenges before my significant other even got time to think about them. I don't know if the person who left a poor review because of difficulty is a child, or simply struggles with video games, because as mentioned, my SO is like a child in video games; she made it to the end with me. Maybe they played alone, but the game is meant to be played with another person to get the most enjoyment. I had to leave this review, because negative review I saw does not do the game justice, and lack of skills in gaming is the players fault, not the game, as the game really isn't that difficult. Unjust, non-constructive reviews taint products with unwarranted reputations, and this is a great game to buy and play with someone. It has a good message to it too. I think the negative reviewer took it personal, as maybe they divorced and thought the game was attacking them, which eas not the intention of the game

Great game for couples!
1 May 2021

I've always loved couch co-op games and it's sad that they aren't made as much anymore. So when a couch co-op game gets released, I have to buy it to support them. I purchased A Way Out when it came out from this same developer in the past and that was a well-thought-out game. So, when I heard that they were coming out with another couch co-op game I had to jump on it. My wife and I both played through A Way Out together, so it only made sense that we played through It takes Two together. I believe that's what made this experience playing through it takes two so great. The story of it takes two is about a married couple trying to rekindle their love for one another as they traverse around their home as dolls. The story was amazing and there are a bunch of fun little mini-games scattered throughout the game. The only real negative I have about this game (same with A Way Out), is there is really much re-playability unless you want to experience the same story again. They do have the mini-games that you unlock and can access from the main menu, but I can't see putting too many hours in those. Overall this game is great if you love couch co-op games and I will continue to purchase to encourage these games. The story was great to experience, especially with your significant other. There isn't a lot of replay value, but the story does take a while to get through. It's worth the price at $40 and anything less is a super bargin.

Learn a lot about how well you work with someone
7 June 2022

Some people say you should live with a person before you get married. Others say you should take a trip riddled with delays. I think you should play this game. It starts off sad. The storyline is of a couple divorcing and their daughter wishing that her parents would put in the work rather than giving up. The rest of the game (or at least as much as we’ve played) has been that work. This game takes communication between both players, coordinating tasks, encouraging each other, patience, so much cooperation. Played with my fellow mid 30’s friend. He’s experienced with video games, I am not. We both have been having a lot of fun and had a hard time stopping for the evening.

Perfect little game
29 December 2021

This game was so fun, it was the perfect little gem in what is a dearth of local co-op games being available for the PS4 generation. It has so much bantering and joking. I was worried hearing about the initial plot being a spoiler, but it happens within the first five minutes of the game (the two parents are getting a divorce). The gameplay is great with different levels/worlds offering something new. Some of them felt a bit smaller compared to other levels, especially toward the end, but every part of the journey was magnificent. I'd also like to add that this game was also fun for my SO who is normally is bad at games. She did okay-ish in Little Big Planet and didn't like Borderlands nor racing games. This one we found as a good one. Your friend can join your online session without needing to buy a copy. This game is seriously fantastic!

Currently watching my brother and his girlfriend play this Christmas gift I got, and we are all very grateful for the diverse creativity the artists who created this game have. It is so fun, clever, and so far no two experiences in the game are the same and it keeps us engaged. The animation style and score are also worth admiring as they add cute character and beauty to the game. The storyline so far is perfect for the overall theme, and it’s cool seeing how it’s bringing out the practice of collaboration between the players too. Still waiting to see how the story turns out and further character development since we’re still mid-game, but wanted to be sure to applaud the game thus far for others to enjoy without hesitation if you’re wondering whether or not to get ... MoreCurrently watching my brother and his girlfriend play this Christmas gift I got, and we are all very grateful for the diverse creativity the artists who created this game have. Trash.
29 December 2022

Worst game I have ever played. The movements are difficult to pick up and not at all intuitive. The concept is great but the execution is trash. The game becomes almost impossibly difficult very early on. If you want to experience ridiculous frustration over a stupid game, this is the one to get. Also, there was no warning or indication that this game is about divorce. You’re playing a couple that is clearly unhappy who have decided to divorce, and the goal is to learn to work together, so that you can learn how to be a better couple and not get divorced. It demonizes divorce and lays a heavy guilt trip on divorced parents in particular. This game is trash and I wish I could get a refund.
