A little bit of history:The Lockheed Martin-Boeing F-22, a 5th generation stealth fighter, is currently in service with the U.S. Air Force. It is distinguished by its innovative concept and design, equipped with two Pratt & Whitney F119 afterburning turbojet engines capable of generating vectorial thrust through the movement of the nozzles. The stealth of this aircraft is based on carefully studied shapes and the use of composite materials designed to minimise the radar signature. Great attention has been paid to the design of the air intakes and nozzles to reduce the heat generated and noise emissions.The armament, both air-to-air and air-to-ground, is housed in bunkers inside the fuselage, minimising the frontal section and reducing detectability by enemy radars. The avionics on this fighter are extremely advanced, capable of detecting, tracking and acquiring targets even at long range.
