Sure, this 3-hole punch is adjustable. However, it is absolutely impossible, no matter how you adjust it, to get the three holes in the right place for A4 paper. Firstly, the frame itself prevents you from positioning the paper correctly with the default setup. "No problem", you say, "I will adjust the bottom hole position up higher to increase the distance from the page edge". Okay, but the centre hole and top hole can ONLY be adjusted 'downward'. Basically, with the holes the correct distance apart for most 3-ring binders, this device is already at its extremes of adjustment. This device offers hundreds, nay thousands, of ways to punch three holes in the wrong places, but absolutely zero possibility of punching them in the right places.

I bought this to do A3 paper for an A3 3-ring binder. But, it has one end closed so that you cannot get the paper into it where you need it lined up. STUPID DESIGN! Then I tried it on A4 - basically the same problem. cannot linen it up where you need it to line up.My tradie husband took the grinder to it to make it work (see pic for the tradie hack)If you want this for A3 (and don't have a tradie to hack it) then find a better hole punch! Don't bother with this one!

No paper guides (despite the packaging specifically saying there is). The individual punches are movable and weren't even correctly aligned, meaning the punched sheets wouldn't go in a ring binder. Holes are punched too close to the edge of the paper and thus the sheets tear out easily. Truly awful product.

I also didn’t see any reviews as I bought this in store as it was the only 3 hole punch they had. Holes didn’t line up with centre of the page as the paper can’t pass through 1 end.Solution: angle grinder with thin cutting wheel, small file and careful cutting to match the opening at the other end!You shouldn’t need to do this so please review your options Officeworks
This is without a doubt the worst hole punch I have ever used. The "Adjustable Paper Guide" is what? That you can move the position of the holes? There is no "Guide" the only guide is trying to line the paper up with the end of the punch each time, and that's the BEST feature! The WORST feature is that the ridiculous hole punch mechanism allows paper to slide UNDER the punch knife contact plate. This means you are never sure if you will get 1, 2, 3 or 4 holes in each piece of paper AND you can get different holes in different pieces if you try to punch more than 1 page at a time, like, 4 holes in the top 2 sheets, 3 holes in sheet 3, 2 holes in sheets 4-6 and 1 or no holes in the rest, or ANY COMBINATION of possible hole patterns!!! I bought this today and was very disappointed. The unit does not have a paper guide, making it impossible to get each punch in the same location. For larger documents (more than 8 pages) the document ends up out of alignment in the binder. Also, the punch would randomly miss some holes. It wouldn't matter if you are punching 1 page or 8...sometime it would punch, then randomly it wouldn't. Very frustrating, will be returning for a refund.
I assumed that if this was the only 3-hole punch available, they would have ensured it fits the standard size paper used here. But due to the bottom edge that is supposed to give you a consistent guide for aligning your paper, it is actually impossible to centre the holes to the page edge for A4. It would suit fine if you're using smaller page sizes, as you can move the hole locations. But the design doesn't allow adjusting the holes in the direction needed to fit Australian A4. I believe the size it was designed for is American "letter." Unfortunately, the packaging doesn't specify this. The construction of it seems sturdy enough, but I won't know how long it lasts because I'll be returning it as unsuitable to my needs.
I bought this product today and will be returning tomorrow.Much like the other reviews, the holes are out of whack and causes the paper to sit high in the folder and above any dividers you might have.The middle hole is not adjustable like the others so there is no easy work around and for the price, not good enough.
All reviews bad, and it's still on the shelf. Do office works staff read the reviews? What a waste of my time going in, and now to return it.The central hole, won't punch in the center of the paper. Jesus!J. Burrows is supposedly the Australian Officeworks own brand, and we only use A4 in Australia, but Officeworks is selling equipment that doesn't work with A4!?
I came to the reviews after I bought this and couldn't work it out. I have since realised that it won't punch holes so that your paper is centred in the folder. It will punch holes so that your paper sits perfectly at the bottom of the folder. Having your paper in the folder sit in line with the bottom of the folder and directly on the shelf actually makes more sense to me. If you are having any trouble working it out just search 'how to use a three hole punch' on youtube and you'll find a video to help you out.I had over 300 pages and found the hole punch often didn't like more than 7 pages at a time even though it said it would do 10.
