A valuable lesson to read reviews before purchase

At first I bought it online because I thought it looked cool and seemed reasonably easy to mount onto the walls in my rental. However, it wasn’t until opening the box that I realised that it needed to be mounted with screws and wall plugs. Also, the thing wasn’t AT ALL Magnetic. Went back to read the reviews after purchase wishing I had read them before picking this hunk of glass up from the store. Now it just sorta sits there in my room like a new wave avant-garde piece with zero purpose. But hey, lesson learned right?

Barely Magnetic!

I purchased this for our office for scheduling. It looks great though beware that you need extra strong magnetics to be able to hold anything on the glass. I bought magnet sheets hoping that I would be able to use them on this board though they fall straight off.

Doesn't include mounting hardware (screws)

The whiteboard is good enough- solid, frame less, and without a green/blue tint- but the mounting was a bit of a chore. The box says it comes with mounting hardware but mine didn't, and I expected a mounting template (makes squaring up the screws easier) but this wasn't included either. I got mine mounted properly the first time (likely more luck than skill) and the mounts landed on my walls studs so I didn't need to buy special anchors. In the end I would say this is good but not great.

Fit for use
26 April 2023

I confirm other reviewers who say it isn't very magnetic. Don't buy it if you're looking for magnetic functionality. There is some but you need really strong magnets. If you want a sleek looking glass board though than this works just fine! It was a bit hard to install and I feel if I had a drill with a drillbit to drill the holes it may have been easier. Installed it just into the drywall no beams needed. Whatever I put on it tends to leave a bit of marks but that is no different from other glass boards. Not bad. Only buy this for the look if you want it, otherwise a regular white board would properly serve your needs.

Less than attractive.

This board looks lovely. The glass adds a nice touch to the office. However, although there is ‘some’ magnetic response, I must state that the word ‘some’ is particularly important. Some of the magnetic markers that you buy, including the Burrows versions, simply slide off and hit the floor, under their own weight.I also have some much stronger magnets that, while holding their own on this board, cannot hold anything as small as a register receipt; the ability to hold, even the smallest piece of paper, causes magnet and paper to slide off.As long as you don’t want this board to function as a magnetic board it looks great on the home office wall.

Looks good, but no magnetism
27 April 2020

I bought this recently for the look and its magnetic properties. I also bought a magnetic pen holder which just slid right off. Luckily the fridge is close by so I can mount the container there, but I'm a little bit disappointed. I do love using the liquid chalk pens though. Wouldn't recommend this to a friend if their main requirement is the magnet.

Looks lovely, but hardly magnetic.

I bought this board and ended up returning it the same day. It's looks clean and modern, the edges are nicely smoothed. The glass is great as a whiteboard, but I bought it as a magnetic board, and even the strong magnets supplied with the board itself held little more than a single piece of paper. The standard magnets I have on my other boards didn't work at all. Such a shame because it definitely looks the part.

Love it

Was hesitant to buy this product after reading mixed reviews, but decided to bite the bullet. And I'm happy I did, it's perfect for what I need. Not too hard to mount, you will need at least 2 people. I use it with liquid chalk as shown in the image, ordinary whiteboard markers are not visible. The magnets provided are strong enough to stick; ordinary magnets that come with some whiteboards won't cut it.

Not white board, its black glass only
2 October 2020

its not a white board at all, black glass even though the info on this webpage says its white surface, not so. it requires white pens only, nothing shows up on it otherwise.Poorly labelled, no mention of black glass anywhere on webpage and the package itself. Waste of time. thought it was going to be great surface to write on but pity its black surface. Great disappointment. Whats worse its not magnetic, how can it be magnetic if its glass. Another misnomer . Going to return it but cant do it today, no car, didn't keep the receipt. Hopefully they will refund when I have support driver on Monday. Too big and too heavy to carry on the public transport bus.If it was genuine white glass I would rate at good value and good quality. but no I'm not going to give any ... Moreits not a white board at all, black glass even though the info on this webpage says its white surface, not so. it requires white pens only, nothing shows up on it otherwise.Poorly labelled, no mention of black glass anywhere on webpage and the package itself. This is not magnetic!
1 March 2019

I purchased this in-store and was not advised it needed "super strong magnets" but later discovered on Officeworks website that they recommend JBC3M6POGB magnets as this board is not suited to any magnet I have tried on it. This wouldn't be such a problem but these magnets are not in stock instore or online and enquiries in-store and to the customer service phone line have hit a wall as I can not even order / back order the magnets.Very frustrating as I now have a useless magnetic whiteboard that cant even hold the magnetic pens of the same brand and if I take it back I will have useless holes in my new kitchen wall. I would give zero stars if it was an option.
