Jabra Evolve2 65 UC USB-C Mono Bluetooth Headset - Black

At our office we've had 9 or 10 pairs of the Jabra Evolve 75 headsets for a number of years, which unfortunately have seemed to start failing with the common mic issues after about 3 years. We've been replacing them as they fail at great cost. I took a chance and went for the Evolve2 65 over the 75 when replacing mine, as they are basically the same price if you shop around. Honestly, I can't say I'm particularly impressed. Yes, they are a sleeker and lighter design, which does make them quite a bit more comfortable to wear all day (I have mine on between 4-6 hours every day), but that also equates to them feeling flimsy in comparison to the Evolve 75. Also, you lose the active noise cancellation feature that the 75 has. The standard Jabra stuff is all there though, exceptional battery life, dual Bluetooth connection (which is a killer feature for us, connects and takes calls seamlessly from both PC/Teams and mobile phone with zero fuss), reliable Bluetooth which never drops out. Not a bad product from Jabra, but they could have done a little better at the price point.

This works great and the sound quality through the Link380 is great for music and calls, with colleagues mentioning this sounds far better. The only two gripes I have are: - The audio quality for bluetooth devices - this is due to only supporting the basic SBC audio codec. Works great for calls, but don't expect high fidelity for music from your phone. I had done my homework and this was accepted because bluetooth music wasn't the focus and it still sounds good through the proprietary Link380 BT adaptor, though) - My big head seems to mean the pressure on the ears is a bit uncomfortable after long periods (3+ hours). This was my concern with on-ear, but the over-ear Jabra equivalents are far more expensive. This is easily remedied with a break or two. Again, self inflicted.

Disappointed

This is probably a defective unit but Headset Advisor Support was amazing. I am glad I bought it here at HeadsetAdvisor. Second good thing is the quality is sound is amazing and ANC for speakers is also good. Now the cons: (1) The main reason I bought this Headset was for the Mic's noise cancellation. I don't want my work colleagues to put up with all the noises at end/home like Baby screams, TV in the living room, Street Cars, Wife's phone calls, even my key board or washroom faucets etc but it failed miserably. They can hear everything from my side and even worse is my voice was so bad that they can't understand at all. I really hope it's faulty unit and Headset Advisor is planning to replace it. (2) When placed on the neck the headset ear cushions are pointed outwards, What a weird design. Come-on Jabra, no one pointed this out when you were designing this? (3) Headset is not stable on my head. It can easily fall when your head is not straight. I believe this is the issue with all on-ear headset as compared to over the ear ones. Anyway, this is really bad experience but my cheap TechNet Headset which was reviewed by Drew is working like a charm.

Great comfort, low background noise management

We are currently looking for open office headphones that will block out loud projectors in our company. We watched many videos by the Headset Advisor and picked these to start with. They are incredibly comfortable, and make the audio on the users' computer very clear and crisp. However, they are still picking up and accentuating our loud talkers in the office. We have reached out to customer service to return and try a different set, but customer service has been lack-luster at getting back to us or being helpful. This headset lost a star for not combatting the background noise, and another star for lack of customer support. High quality, meeting expectations so far.

Like many of the reviews on the Headset Advisor site for the Jabra Evolve2-75. I am very pleased with the quality and performance of this headset after only 3 weeks of use. The overall build seems to be of quality with user comfort top of mind. It's been some time since I have used over-the-ear headphones, so the transition and feel from that of in ear buds took a few days to get used to. The ANC feature works exceptionally well, with my online contacts confirming minimal background noise, as well as great mic voice pick up and clarity. I also use the headset for listening to music via Spotify, while the sound quality and comfort remain great, I would like to have a slightly higher volume level setting permitted than my voice calls. Bought this as an upgrade from the Evolve 65 (not 2) and unfortunately its overall a downgrade, despite being constructed very nicely with premium feeling materials and a great build quality - I wanted to love it! There are 2 x major issues: Firstly, the mic is right side only, whereas the previous model could swing both ways (I prefer on the left side). Maybe not a deal breaker for some, but I just found it constantly annoying. Secondly, the previous model has a hard headband which gradually built up pressure on the top of my head and become uncomfortable after a few hours. I struggled to wear this headset for more than 30 mins at a time. Big sad. I also have an Engage 75 which is almost perfect, but it is tied to the dock for Bluetooth and PC connectivity, so you can't really use it for travelling. Still chasing the holy grail of headsets... Looking at the Evolve 75 it looks like it might suffer the same issues as the Evolve2 65.

He works from home but sometimes he travels to Sydney and needs to work in an open plan office and conduct meetings so he uses the headset for this. I wanted a headset for him that blocked out noise. I debated between this one and the one up from this that had noise cancelling. For cost reasons I purchased this one but I was concerned it would not block out as much noise as the reviews stated. Last week he used his headphones for the first time in the airport lounge. He said the headphones work a treat! They allow you to maintain a sense of professionalism when conducting a meeting when not in a private space. The headphones are excellent!

Nice Headset ... but it doesn't work with TEAMS

I have heard a lot about Jabra devices and was really looking forward to this headset being the answer to my company's switch over to Teams Voice. The device was well packaged and I installed the Jabra Direct software. I immediately noticed the headset was very comfortable and the sound quality was very good. I noticed the Teams button on the right earcup and when a Teams call came in, I pressed the button ... nothing ... just a click ... no remote call control from the headset. I searched for a Jabra customer support phone number and was pleasantly surprised to find one on their site. I gave the number a call and wow, someone immediately answered the phone. We spent about 30 minutes on the phone and she had no clue why it wasn't working. We went through her checklist and she was baffled. She had me run an advanced diagnostic tool to send to the level 2 team Sounds great right? That is when Jabra support changed to avoid and deflect mode. Time went by with no response from the Level 2 team, so I sent an email. At that point, Jabra began blaming Microsoft, my PC, everything but their product. I went to the internet and typed Jabra Evolve2 65 Remote Call Control not working with Teams and found hundreds and hundreds of posts with users having the same issue going back more than one year. Many them experiencing what I found, i.e. Jabra pointing fingers at Microsoft and walking away. If Jabra wants to say a device is Teams certified, then it should work 100% as intended. If it knowingly does not, then they should stop selling the device, or immediately determine the cause of the issue and prioritize a solution. Seeing that users have had this problem for a year is a big problem for me. If someone else had posted this information before I purchased this product, I would have saved a lot of frustration, so that is why I am writing this. If you want a device that works fully with Teams, at the time of this writing, the Jabra Evolve2 65 does not.

Not good enough

I have had very good experiences with other Jabra headsets in the past, but this product was different. Got a first pair and my voice kept floating in and out during meetings like I was increasing and decreasing volume. Performed trouble shooting with expert support until it was deemed a defective headset. Got a new pair had same problems. Looking online, others are experiencing this as well. Also, mic is hidden but requires you to grab the tip to pull it down from mute. People stated they could always hear when I was muting and unmuting with the mic position. Returning this for a different product.

I was inspired to order one by a combination of experience with a much cheaper Jabra corded product (the Evolve 20), excellent online reviews, and the audio comparison with other SKUs done by Headset Advisor on their YouTube channel. The minute I ordered it, however, it went out of stock. But it did finally arrive 2 weeks ago, and my experience is uniformly positive. The headset is extremely comfortable even for me (I have a very large head), the sound and mix are excellent, and the adaptive noise cancellation is much more than adequate for a general office setting. It will be a couple of months until I can test it on the road. It will be a couple of months until I can test it on the road. I’m not sure I really believe the advertised battery life, but that is also much more than adequate for an office. As far as I can tell, most people should be either buying something really cheap (they just don’t use it enough), identically the Apple AirPods Pro (and maybe a decent mic) or the tip of the line Jabra in whatever form factor you like best. The mic is not perfect, but it is in the top 5-10% of your Zoom calls, and works even when you are away from your desk. If you really are podcasting, I’m sure you would prefer a dedicated and better mic, but for most other people I’m really not sure. And versatility is why this is actually worth waiting and paying for. It would be a steal for a real sale price, which we’ll only see when they can keep the SKU in stock.
