I barely used this guitar as I don't know much and have only taken 3 lessons. I've only had it little over a week. And it's already busted. It's not like I'm onstage smashing it. I haven't dropped it. Shipping seems to have been excellent. And now the part where you plug it in is loose therefore making the guitar unplayable. I'm on a budget. And I don't have the money or means to get it repaired. To say that I'm angry is an understatement. I now question if I ever want to pick up a guitar again.

Overall:After reading numerous rave reviews about this guitar I ordered the satin black model and I am frankly astounded.For the price I've not seen a better a better bargain.First: the shortcomings. The tuners aren't the best but you can work around that by always tuning up, not down. If you're a little bit flat, turn the key down then bring it back up to maintain tension. The pickups are adequate but lack definition when the gain is cranked. I pulled them and installed some Dimarzios; Super Distortion & PAF 36th. The amaranth fretboard has a nice tight grain and is really smooth. The nut is properly cut. The neck joint is tight and well seated. Like the neck, the satin finished body is nice and doesn't slow your hand movement if your hands are sweaty. The body is lightweight but has a nice resonant quality when played unplugged. Oh yeah, and this guitar is SERIOUSLY COOL LOOKING and a lot of fun to play. And that angled headstock is just plain wicked looking.

Let me start off by saying I am not a beginner and I've owned over 35 guitars over the past 20 years. This is a fantastic instrument for the value! I've received guitars costing literally 10 times as much that weren't set up any better out of the box. Intonation was perfect, fret work is unbelievable at this price point, and the electronics are actually very decent. Pickups are clear and articulate, not as good as some EMG, Duncan, Dimarzio, etc., but not in need of a swap out of the box. There are some small imperfections if you really nitpick, a small bit of glue residue near the nut and the frets could use a polish, but overall this is a great instrument. The 26.5 is great for the 7th string, I really prefer it to 25.5. It may be unfair to give the Jackson a 4 star. Bought it on sale. This is a five star guitar at that price. It does need some basic set up. Action is high. Easy to reset. Guitar tone is what I expected out of the guitar. Nothing special. Lows are maybe a touch murky. I look forward to a few upgrades just
The overall issue with this guitar was that out of the box, it was literally unplayable. Even after acclimation, the E, A, and D strings all buzzed badly even playing them open. For any new player, I can only assume they would have returned it, which I absolutely understand. I get that Guitar Center doesn't want to open the box and assumes the factory setup was done, but they really should follow suite like Sweetwater and at least do minimal inspection and adjustment. The truss rod was way too tight. I've never had to make such drastic adjustments to a truss rod before. It probably needed a full 180 degree or more turn to get it where it needed to be.While the frets aren't super bad, they are sharp and needed to be filed. I expect after I put a new set of strings on it it'll be okay.After fixing the truss rod and bridge adjustment, the guitar plays decent. For a sub-$200 guitar, I don't think this is a bad deal, but you have to come in with a set of expectations that you're going to want to either pay a luthier another $50 for a set up, or do it yourself to be able to get any actual enjoyment out of this guitar.
Being a Jackson fan, it's hard to find fault with this guitar. However, the ceramic pickups are it's weakness and it's strength. Since a lot of musicians used this sound, it duplicates it perfectly. Bridge and middle positions are the most useful. Neck is the least. Tight vibrato. 3 position switch. The Arch Top is cool. Plays well. I like plugging in from the side rather than the face of the guitar like the Strat. No string trees, although the sharp angles on the headstock seems to be enough. Attractive inlays on fretboard looks especially good with the white body. "Jackson neck" for those who know what that means.I've heard great things about the Dinky and I also found this to be true. Yes I would buy this guitar again.

Amazing value for money and it does everything you expect it to do but feels amazing. Well worth the money a true keeper of a guitar. Entry level but all the boxes are ticked for a shred machine, I wish I had bought the guitar sooner. Only the oiled guitar js22 is mahogany all others are poplar. Only the white one comes with a glossy headstock the others are matt. The white model looks amazing. Cannot go wrong with this guitar for somone learning how to shred. metallica all the way baby!!! I play mine through a Katana 50w amp, and all together it's a very nice rig for around $500.I used to do the endless modding thing but now just want to spend my time playing guitar. This one fits my needs exactly.If you order a blue one, just know that there is a slight metal flake in the paint. It looks great but it's just not the same as the color in the pics.
