Jade Yoga XL Harmony Mat - Midnight

After getting into hot yoga, I started looking for a mat to limit slipping. I did a ton of research which led me to Jade and Manduka. Ultimately I loved the “stickiness” feeling of Jade, which allows me to grip and maintain traction. I’ve never slipped or lost my footing. It does collect hair, and I’m not sure I’d recommend it to someone doing yoga at home with dogs. However, it’s absolutely perfect for hot, in-studio yoga!

Fantastic mat!

I've used the exact same mat for about two years and am only replacing because it's starting to show signs of wear, including a hole in it. It's a fantastic mat and has served me well. It's great having a longer mat as I'm quite tall, but can - if strategically placed - lay down in shavasana without my head or toes off the mat! The grip is fantastic and allows me to downward dog even in sunny, humid weather without sliding around. Definitely recommend this mat!

Great Mat!

I have only used the mat a few times, but it looks to be a well made, quality mat. I don't slip as much as I used to. Definitely thicker, to give more cushion on hard floors. The mat is heavier than my old mat, because it is so thick, and I bought the longer size, which I needed as I am 5'10". The extra inches are needed. I'll need to look into a mat strap as it won't stay rolled due to thickness. So far, I am happy with my purchase.

I have many different yoga mats (Manduka, Liforme, others) but my Jade Harmony mats are usually my first grab. I’ve got an older Harmony 68” mat that I use daily and take with me when I travel by car, and wanted a new longer version 74”. I also have the “Travel Mat” that I take when I have to fly- it fits nicely in my suitcase pocket and gives me what I need for my hotel room workouts.I do a blend of calisthenics and yoga, and the Harmony is the absolute best for those workouts. Love my Harmony.

No slip, Heavy Yoga Mat.

The Jade Extra thick yoga mat provides the owner with plenty of cushioned, no slip activities. For me, I purchased this mat to protect my knees but unfortunately stressed my shoulder carrying it. I would recommend this mat for owners who do not mind carrying a heavy mat to a yoga class multiple times per week. The no slip texture provided stability when sweating but was not comforting to the palms of my hands. I will use this mat at home only under a cotton yoga rug for padding or gift it to a friend.

Perfect for HOT yoga - with a yoga towel!

I just had leave a review to counter the person who said this was the worst for hot yoga. This is an amazing mat to use *with* a yoga towel (like yogitoes or my fav, yoga rat). You can’t do hits yoga without a towel between you and a regular mat, so any expectation otherwise is way off base. And this mat in particular makes it so your towel doesn’t scrunch up or slip - it’s awesome. I bought another mat called “pro” and my towel got all bunched up during class - so I’m coming back to buy another Jade Harmony. Nothing else works quite as well!

Perfect for everyday and on the road

I got this mat a month ago in anticipation of traveling again. I’ve been testing it out at home and it is so much more comfortable and cushiony than my regular mat (hugger mugger tapas) even though it is significantly thinner. I’m packing now for a 10 day trip and it fits my carryon (admittedly, it fitting is also because of my super fancy suitcase, a Rimowa: even though it looks like it’s bulging out, I can actually close my suitcase; it’s because of the compression flaps that push down each side of the clamshell suitcase). I think that even if I wasn’t traveling with a Rimowa but my old Hartman, it would fit nicely as well. It’s totally my everyday mat. Perfect upgrade for me!

I upgraded from a discount-department-store-level Gaiam mat that handled HIIT classes for 4 years quite nicely. The surface wasn’t quite “sticky” enough for sweaty yoga hands. I talked with classmates, read a ton of reviews and researched the materials used in yoga mats. This mat checked all the boxes for me. (I don’t do yoga in the sun - if you do, natural rubber isn’t your best choice.) The Harmony mat is a good weight for safety in class that’s easy to handle under my arm or in a bag while I walk to class for a few blocks. I’ve used it for a month of 4-6 hour-long classes a week. I love it. I’m 59 and my knees hurt in some poses on the Gaiam mat (thicker, but too squishy); no pain at all on the slightly thinner Harmony mat. The reviewers are right about the rubber smell ... it’s made of rubber, so there was no surprise for me. I hung mine on two slacks hangers in the garage for a week, spritzed it with 1:5 vinegar:water and wiped it down after each use with efficient results in dissipating the aroma. I spritz and wipe it down with that solution once a week now. In a year, I’ll review the quality and durability (that’s a mandatory rating on this form ... I won’t know for a year about durability.)

Quality Mat

I purchased it for slip resistance, and I got more out of it! It also has great grip, and it has sufficient padding that my knees don't feel pain when doing the cat poses. It's a little heavier, thicker than other mats, but I'm at the studio to get my sweat on. I'm not running with it all day, so the weight is not a factor for me. The only thing is... the initial rubber smell. I would clean it first before using it, so it may reduce the smell. It's quite potent, but the mat is still amazing. It's worth every penny, so take advantage of it!

Swing and a miss

Bought this yoga mat for my husband for Valentine's Day because I thought it would be a nice, plush, heavy mat that would be comfortable and lay flat easily with the heavy weight.- it heavily attracts things to stick to it (Dog hair, small bits of dirt, etc).- it starts to get squeaky if you get sweaty at all- it isn't even soft. It is less soft than our much thinner, cheaper mats- it doesn't unroll and stay flat very well- I got the long one for my 6' tall husband. I am 5'3" and laid on it and it does not seem very long.- Way more expensive than our other matsAt least my husband and I got a laugh that this was a total dud.
