I purchased this machine 3 months ago. There has been a few issues with this machine. 1. The light is really dim cant see what you are doing. 2. The motor needs to be stronger. When you sew an item that is a little thicker than normal it whines. 3. When starting to sew it will not bring the material firward as it should. 4. Not as quiet as I wish it would be.

Smooth, easy to use machine. This machine is a serious upgrade for me and everything is just so intuitive and works flawlessly. I love the speed control so that when I’m working on something tricky I know I won’t accidentally zoom forward and go too fast. The special stitches are really fun. I am an intermediate sewer and this machine is really helping me improve my sewing. I really love it.

I have advanced arthritis especially in my hands and this machine is easy to use and has the best automatic threader I've ever used!! The set screw for the feet is a bit hard for me to use due to arthritis but is still manageable. This is a strong, sturdy and quiet machine, I am thrilled!

A breeze to set up and start sewing! Lots of stitches, but no overload and so easy to select! Easy to adjust foot pressure and thread tensions, altogether a great machine!
I am using this as a second machine. I love it. It is a great work horse .
740dc is my second Janome machine. Like the first the I own, the quality is doubt. I also like the look of the machine, very modern and sleek. The white color is a matte finish, so It makes the machine looks expensive. The control panel is also convenient,no need to select up or down to choose different stitches, just choose one from the panel on the machine. The digital screen is large and bright. I am thrilled with this purchase.
