This was bought for my mum. We got her a 4k tv and the sound was not insufferable but not fantastic either. She loves a game of football and this really makes a difference. All the yobbo's can now clearly be heard shouting at the ref. It has improved the experience greatly (if you like that kind of thing).It is basic; hdmi, optical and Bluetooth - no more, no less. No features, just audio playback, which also makes set up simple. If you use the hdmi(arc) the TV also controls the volume saving you having loads of remotes.For greatly improving your TV sound and streaming from your phone via Bluetooth this is good. No, it's not hifi. No, it doesn't have any features - it produces sound and does a perfectly decent job of doing so for the price.

I ordered this 2.1 sounder online for my parents bedroom. It said that it was on sale for $129.00 because it was the 20129 version. To me, that seemed irrelevant. I figured it would be an upgrade from having to listen to the Samsung tv speaker on the wall and knew that JBL was always solid sounding and good quality. Sony rep pointed us this direction, away from a Bose, and away from Sony, because of intended purpose. This is outside, in a StormSheild TV cabinet, and does very well. Not a super amount of base, but for outside covered deck use, it does well and is pretty good upgrade from TV speakers, which is what we were after. Music does do a bit batter range via Bluetooth. I'd buy another. Only downfall is that it's not expandable to a sub, or rear speakers. But I'd still buy another.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. They shipped it in it's original box and not in a brown box so you could see exactly what it was. And of course it arrived during the day when nobody was home so it was left on my front porch for the world to see what it was. Glad it didnt get stolen but pretty irritated because it wasnt even in a brown box to hide the contents. The unit itself arrived in pristine condition and, with exception of batteries, came with all the accesories and paperwork you would expect. To be fair, the accessories only consist of a very simple remote and a 1m HDMI cable (no optical cable). Set-up couldn't be easier - plug HDMI connector in back of unit, other end into HDMI1 (ARC) socket on back of TV and switch on. My TV found the soundbar immediately and switched it's audio output to the Bar 2.0 without further adjustment. As an added bonus, the TV remote also controls the volume of the Bar 2.0 so you can put the soundbars' own remote out of the way until you want to use it as a bluetooth speaker. Okay, what about the sound? Even the cheapest soundbar is usually an improvement over the tiny, tinny, downward facing speakers of the vast majority of modern SMART TV's and the Bar 2.0 is no exception. It won't (and physically can't) fill a room with cinematic surround sound but what it can do is make speech a lot clearer (not just louder) and music more intense with well-defined highs and lows and a fair attempt at adding a bit of low frequency bass (sans sub-woofer obviously). Quite a remarkable performance really given it's footprint which allows it to sit right at home under the smallest of TV's. Bottom-line - if you have spent £1000's on a 75" OLED 4K TV then get yourself a 7.1 surround sound system and enjoy every minute of it - this is not the speaker for you. If, however, you are fed up of saying 'What did he say?' whilst watching your favourite soap on your 40" TV then this speaker may just be what you are looking for.
We just needed a decent inexpensive soundbar to improve the sound for our TV. This JBL all in one did the trick. I have a fairly high end home theater system but to crank it up just to watch TV is overkill. I have a JBL Flip6 bluetooth speaker and love the sound from it. This soundbar uses two of their small "racetrack" style speakers like the one in my Flip6 along with a bass port and sounds great. It has bluetooth so I can send music to it from my phone or tablet too. It does everything we need and more.
Needed an upgrade from tv speakers. Picked this one for jbl's quality and the fact that it will be in a bedroom (didn't need a powerful system with a subwoofer). The sound is crisp with little distortion even when turned up loud. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is not customizable. There is not an app to adjust bass/treble. Updating firmware is a hassle too. Overall, great speaker. Would buy again.

The simple controller has a bluetooth button at the top right, when pressed it changes the speaker input from the television to bluetooth. Connection is instantaneous. A test of bass heavy music showed me that this little bar can really pound. Even at very high volume, I didn't notice any rattle or distortion. It is really nice to be able to have an extra sound source to listen to music in a new part of the house.If you are looking for something to improve your TV's sound, and also provide a new access point for listening to music without installing a big system, you have found your sound bar. JBL signature sound does not disappoint. The simplicity of this model is delightful. A power cord to the wall and one wire to the television, either HDMI or Optical, and you are good to go.

Unfortunately after around ten days after receipt it was becoming very hard to get the remote control to work with the unit & on two occasions the unit itself would not work.I spoke to Arron in telesales who agreed that I could return the unit & I paid the extra to purchase a Yamaha soundbar for £199.00 .
