I bought these headphones in BJs. This was my second pair, because I thought if I was extra careful that the headphones would last me longer than my first pair, but it was a failure. I got my 2nd pair for about $52. Like the first JBL Duet NC, I got a pouch, a orange charging cord, and a headset cord. About 3 months in the part that anchors the ear part to the rest of the headset started falling apart like crumbs. I almost never used the extension to adjust the ear part because my head is quite small. On top of that I was too nervous to bend the part that curves the ear cups in to fold them, because the snap sound it creates sounds like it's breaking and you have to use a bit of strength to fold it in. I thought maybe tape could help me keep these headphones a little longer but it was a failure. Even the left ear gave out on me. The foam became exposed and I'm guessing the glue inside just wasn't holding anymore. The leather started to strip off, (I would clean them but I'm guessing the leather can't handle any type of wiping or moisture not sure. Plus the tape really just took whatever parts of leather with it everytime I had to fix the tape). It was just an absolute mess. I really love the bass these headphones give and I loved the idea that I could connect it to my laptop and phone. Phone calls were tricky because the Bluetooth would pick up every sound but my voice at times. I wanted to keep these headphones without having the crumbling issue and having to use tape. But it was short lived. RIP to both of my headphones.

Always great sound, Always great quality.

I like very much the sound that is not pushing a lot on the bass but still having them distinct. They don't have a whouah effect of some headphones that make you tired after 10 minutes. The sound is clear and keeps you on listening to music. Also the connectivity worked very well, except with my old PC where it connected but the sound is stopping every second. Maybe due to my PC. I tried with my work laptop and there, no issue.Another really good thing is the lag, I have other cheaper bletooth headphones with which I can't watch anything on my tablet or phone as the sound and the picture get completely de-synchronized. With the duet I couldn't notice any lag.Now the down side:I bought these headphone thinking that they where much lighter. The online shop was indicating 183g while they are actually 266g on my scale and 260g on the specifications after searching for a while. 266g is a bit heavy. Also they are not very deep so my ears are a bit touching.Last part on comfort, they are a bit tight: my head feels a bit squeezed. It sounds bad but I manage to keep them hours on. So at the end it is ok.Last detail: I am struggling to fold them to put them back in the case.I haven't tried much the sound counselling in real situations but it looks really good. When enabling it I can really feel the difference.

Great for a first few month, didnt last long
26 June 2018

I bought it because at first i thought it would last me longer than other headphones, i used to have an in-ear headphones (i lost it) it was well built so i thought the headphone would too.Sadly, it didn't. Got it 3 months ago, worked really well as first. The Bluetooth was fast, but after a few weeks, i started to hear some static noise especially when in bluetooth mode. I thought it was my fault that I didnt charge enough so I ignored it and plugged in the wire.Anyway, long story. But now, everytime i try to put on Bluetooth mode or Noise-Cancelling mode with Wire it always has this freaking annoying static noise.

Great headphones for most users

I've always liked JBL and their products. These headphones are quite good, even great, not excellent. Easy to connect via Bluetooth, and very straightforward. They are quick to switch devices when they've connected to two devices. They have good comfort, but not great. The padding around the ears and on the top of the head are great. The actual muffs/speakers are angled slightly which, when sitting back in a recliner, causes them to slowly slide off. The buttons are easily navigated. It's clear when the power is on and it has its own dedicated button--always a great feature. The play/pause button is easily identified by touch. The noise cancelling button is the farthest button forward, which makes it easy to find. Each activity/event has its own tone/chime which allows the user to quickly learn and recognize what the headphones are doing--power on/off, connected to a device, noise cancellation on/off. The sound quality is good overall. Crisp, clear sound. Their power is good and the volume can reach a level that is almost too much, which is always appreciated. Better to have more than you need, than not enough. The weakness is that the bass is a little lacking. A fuller bass would make these headphones complete and very top of the line. The noise cancellation is okay. Whenactivated, it seemingly increases the midtones and bass, which is unfortunate. Atmospheric, repetitive noise (like from a fan or an engine) is blocked out, not much else. A little disorientation can be experienced when the NC is turned on, but that might be just my sensitive ears. Overall, a great product. A couple enhancements would make it excellent in a future model, but very good for most listeners.

Its ok
25 May 2020

I have the headphones for about 2 years now. At first they were great but they started to get bad. For example the plastic on the inside broke even though it was in case an the metal pins move out of their holes. I cant pull out the right side because I would risk making it fall apart and having to put it together again. In addition the right side comes out with the slightes shake. I liked it but it is just awful to use it. But im not going to spend 270$ on a new one and It did not have the cable for plugging it in in my boxThanks

Poor sound quality without the NC feature off
29 May 2020

Comfortable to wear. The NC feature is not good at all. The sound quality is not good, coming from a JBL headphone. It sounds decent when the NC feature is on. I should sound good with or without the NC feature. The difference is huge when you turn the NC feature on but not high quality. I can't believe this headphones are sold in the JBL website for $259.00. Not worth that kind of money. I just received them a few hours ago, they are fully charged so I'm not sure about battery time. I will see about that.

Poppin and a Crackin!

I bought the DUETNC at a sprint store around Christmas along with some new phones. WOW! I thought these were the best sounding Noise cancelling Headphones EVER! They were superb! Until after about a week and the right side would pop and crack so loudly with the NC on it actually HURT my eardrum. So I thought "oh well, stuff happens" and I Just exchanged them for another pair at the sprint store.Back in the saddle and ROCKIN again! I never wanted to take them off! That is until after about another week went by and low and behold...the right side started POPPIN AND A CRACKIN so loudly IT HURT!Now I'm getting a little frustrated. So I proceeded to go back up to sprint store to exchange them again, BUT...this time the sprint rep tells me there is nothing he can do for me because its been 2 weeks since I purchased them! So...In utter DISBELIEF, I asked if he was pulling my leg or something!? Because I dont know of any store in this country where you pay that kind of money for something and then be told you cant return it!? ITS BEEN LONGER THAN 2 WEEKS!? WHAT???? THAT'S INSANE! I was so upset, that after I had been with sprint as a loyal customer for 8 years, I dropped them on the spot, told that rep where he could go, and I went to VERIZON!So....I've had these $250 headphones for 3 months that I cannot use and do not know what to do, because the stupid sprint rep would not even help me or explain to me what I need to do or who to get ahold of to take care of the issue. I'm sorry JBL, but I would find a DIFFERENT phone carrier to do business with!SPRINT IS A JOKE! But I do not believe these headphones are, it has got to be something simple! PLEASE HELP!Tim Roe

Watch this model for NC noise
3 June 2020

Seem like nice low weight good sounding bluetooth headphones. The only problem is the NC noise cancelation when engaged. Bad, just scratchy and unusable. You just wear themy and use where you don't have any background noise exists. I went on line and found the NC wiring to be defective in connection too short of fine wire through the right side speaker plate. They can be resoldered, but really, cheaper to buy some nice talking Bohm 76's or Sony remanufactured for great phones. The sound on regular, no NC is pretty damn good
