JBL Endurance Peak Wireless In-ear Sport Headphones Black

I chose this brand based on personal experience and performance. My car has 8 speakers with JBL the sound is amazing. So I bought these wireless/ Bluetooth earbuds. Reason I chose these was when I am walking I wanted something to stay connected and stay on my ear. The comfort was surprisingly comfortable and stayed in place. Also the battery life is great. Changed My View On In-Ear 'phones

I received these from JBL for an unbiased review.The premium look and feel of the Endurance PEAK was apparent as soon as I opened the box. The charging case is very nice, and feels good quality without being heavy, which is surprising for the level of charge it keeps. I’ve been wearing these for at least 45 minutes per day for a week, and not had to charge the case once; It’s actually still showing (via the four lights on the front of the box) as above 75% charge remaining!As for the earphones themselves, firstly let me say I’ve never really been a fan of the in-ear type, preferring the earbud style for better comfort. Once Bluetooth has been set up, they connect automatically to my Huawei Mate 20 Pro as soon as they’re removed from the case, taking just the 3-5 seconds it takes to remove them from the case and put them in my ears. Perfect!As someone who wears glasses all the time, I thought they might battle for space behind my ear, but that’s not the case as the ‘hook’ part hugs the edge of the back of your ear, rather than the side of your head.I found the sound wasn’t quite optimised in my left ear, lacking bass somewhat, but found that changing the angle they sat was the problem. A swap in size of the rubber tip on that side solved that. For the size of the units, the bass is surprisingly good, and the treble isn’t ‘tinny’, as I’ve experienced with other earphones.Overall, while I still feel a little awkward about having something actually IN my ear, rather than resting in the ‘outer’ (more a squeamish problem on my part – ever seen The Wrath of Khan?), for sound quality, connectivity and comfort, I would choose the JBL the Endurance PEAK over my old earbud type every day of the week.

Comfortable and Sleek

These are my first pair of wireless earbuds. Earbuds usually put too much pressure on my ears or make my ears hurt after 20 mins or so, until I ran across the JBL Mini Reflect, so I was anxious to try these. I've had these for a bit more than a week, they seem to be living up to the claim to never hurt. I've had them on for sessions of more than 2 hours and they stayed pretty comfortable - I know they're there, but they don't bother me. As mentioned, the tighter the ear tips are inside your ears, the better the sound quality, esp the bass. As for the connection and controls - as soon as you extend the right hook the earbuds turn on and get connected, then if you put on the left one, it takes a couple seconds of silence, which I had mistaken as the pair not connecting to my phone at all and I kept tapping to try to make things work. The controls are natural and easy to adapt - single tap to play/pause, double tap to fastfoward, triple tap to go back to rewind, swipe up to increase vol, down to decrease.I haven't received called with these yet, but would like to try that out eventually.Last but not least, I always appreciate JBL's packaging, these earbuds come in a very nifty re-chargable case where you put your earbuds inside when you don't use them, and then your earbuds get charged; you can also charge both the case and the earbuds, which you're supposed to do before the first use.Overall, I'm very happy with these earbuds. I'll probably switch out the different sizes of the eartips to see how that change the comfort level and sound qualify.

Great for music and nothing else!

There is a lag between video and audio. Music sounded GREAT, but when I went to play a video, there was consistently a lag between what I watched on the screen and the audio I would hear after. I tried chatting with a customer service rep who tried several methods to solve the issue including a hard reboot which helped lessen the lag, but it was still there. Finally, they reported back to me and said that these earbuds are only optimized for music because they don't contain two specific hardware components that would keep the audio from lagging behind the video. Aka they cannot fix this issue, it's built in.If you are someone like me who works out to a streamed video, or you want your earbuds to have more than just one function, then this is a huge deal breaker.If you ONLY want to use these earbuds for listening to music, then they're great! Highly recommend.(I did not test these for phone call sound quality.)

Just disappointing, but can be better

After only a couple months of use, the left headphone does not hold a charge or pair easily with the right one / my phone. i have also noticed that when using only the right headphone (while cooking etc.) that sound is coming out of the charging box where the left one is, as if it paired and turned on while still closed and docking. A possible reason it never had any charge. When these headphones cost as much as they do, I would expect more than a few months of use out of them. A big reason I bought these were to be more durable and longer lasting than cheap BT headphones I found on Amazon, but even those lasted longer than these without breaking down.I am, unfortunately, in the market for another pair but even with my prior good experience with the company (and their cust. service in general) I am finding it hard to commit to buying another one of their true wireless products.I really want to like these headphones, but they just seem so poorly made. adding a star to the review as JBL has been good to me in the past, but make no mistake this is a 1-star product in a vacuum.

Only good under very specific conditions

These earphones are not the best. I bought them because my AirPods (after having used them for hours every day for four years) were at the end of their life and I couldn't afford a new pair, but needed new earphones - these seemed like a good choice. I wanted something which was waterproof so that I could wear them in the shower and while swimming, but what they don't tell you is that the right earbud is VERY sensitive to touch (to the extent that it thinks water is contact) and that you can't actually use them for water sports because of this. The left earbud also doesn't work independently of the right earbud, so if you want to listen to music only in your left ear, you have to trick the right earbud to thinking it's also in by using a cloth or something to ... MoreThese earphones are not the best. As someone who was on the fence about buying them, and kind of regrets it now, I would recommend against purchasing them, unless you're only using them for very specific purposes - for listening to music while running or bouldering, for example. If you want them for general use, or for use in water sports, I'd recommend buying something else. For general use, in my experience, you can't beat Apple AirPods.

Worked Great Initially Then One Stopped Charging

I bought these earbuds because they were recommended by some people as a good brand. However the right one stopped working with a 8 months. It would turn red on charging port but turn off soon as I remove it. It wouldn’t turn on. The left one would come on but would soon disconnect. I had a couple other pairs so I just used those. You’ll need to fix this problem. I’m out of the manufacturers warranty time frame & I can’t get a replacement.

Although I much prefer over-the ear headphones for critical music listening, they block out too much ambient noise in situations where you want to be aware of what is going on around you. They are also better under a hood, etc. for cold weather outdoor listening. I also don't want or need something that is 'stylish',' discreet', etc., preferring something a little bulkier that performs reasonably well, and has good battery life. I also did not have a huge budget for high end headphones. The sound quality, for what they are, is more than acceptable. Being designed to get wet, sweaty, etc., I did not expect the greatest sound, but they work fine for casual listening. Enjoying mainly classical music, especially organ music, a wide, flat frequency response is important. It does roll off in the bass somewhat, but again, I think this is due to being designed to withstand environmental moisture. Battery life is more than acceptable, but certainly not what is claimed on the packaging. I can typically get two evenings of listening on a charge. The form-fitted case for the headphones acts as both a charging stand and a charge meter. It also fits nicely in the pocket. One nice feature is the headphone (right) that has the master bluetooth receiver and the controls, can stand alone when all you need is hands-free telephony. The left headphone is actually a slave to the right headphone, and not the music player, etc. About the only drawback I have had with them is their tendency to shut down after about 10-15 minutes of silence. This behavior is not adjustable. Although I can deal with this, it is annoying, and is the reason I only gave four stars.So, can I recommend these headphones? Absolutely!

I have given these an honest effort after about 5 months of ownership and just about ready to move on to another option. The design & concept is good in theory however there are many engineering flaws with the product:1) The charging case requires you to carefully manipulate the earbuds due to their spring loaded over ear design to ensure the metal contacts are touching the right points. If the contacts are not completely clean or sitting just right and confirmed BOTH lights are on you will be surprised to find out they did not charge. It also requires you to gingerly set them on a flat surface as to avoid disrupting this delicate connection. Therefore, be prepared for listening experiences to only be right ear if the left dies first.5) When on a call if you change the output from the JBL to the speakerphone or earpiece despite taking this as a first step the call hangs up on whomever you are speaking with after they cannot hear you due to the poor sound quality.6) On a bright note the sound quality when they are charged and work is great!Overall, the product is far to high maintenance requiring so much diligence on the part of the user it makes the entire experience unenjoyable. In today's era of technology there is simply no excuse for this type of poor performance by design. We have several other JBL products and this by far the worst and a lack of complete engineering & validation on the part of JBL. Do better. I will be searching for better options immediately.

The storage case is also a combination power bank and charger for the ear-buds with LED indicators that display charging and remaining power status of the case and the ear-buds. The right ear-bud is the master and has touch control for a number of functions built in some that I have not yet tried.. I use my Endurance Peak True Wireless ear-buds with an 10 inch android tablet for entertainment watching streaming video from Netflix, Hulu and other sources. The sound quality as I said earlier is better then the tablet by itself, stereo sound really has separation compared to the tablet by itself. I have only had the ear-buds for eight days but the battery life and case battery life claimed seem to be about right. I am fairly confident that I could use the ear-buds while exercising, but haven't tried them in that role and I haven't tested the waterproof claim and doubt I will.I am keeping this short because I want to get to the limiting issue: the Quick Start Guide has been anything but “Quick” for me. The document is disjointed by an attempt to scatter the instructions for a large number of languages in little pieces through out the “Guide”. The “Quick Start Guide” is cryptic and unfortunately it is also the documentation for the ear-buds you currently find on the manufacturer's website. So I recommend the JBL Endurance Peak Bluetooth True Wireless In-Ear headphones, but I caution I think a lot of people will need to wade slowly through the current instructions and will need some trial and error to make the ear-buds function as they want them to. Five star hardware and software with two star documentation.
