JBL and Best Buy both do it again. I play keyboard and sing, and this speaker is great on its own for a small venue like a coffee house gig. The sound from it is impressive for such a small and light speaker. Keyboard amps are notoriously heavy, so I'm so grateful to have a speaker that can put out great sound at about a third of the weight. It is an amazing Bluetooth speaker as well - great for outdoor parties and get-togethers. In fact, I liked it so much, I bought a second one, and the stereo sound and volume with two is amazing. It is a bit pricey, but worth the cost for the sound and features. It's my new go-to PA for gigs and outdoor events. Owned this product for about a month in December 2020. Sounds fine but had some major issues. The main problem is that much of the functionality of this speaker is tied in to the app. I consistently had issues in multiple areas with the app. To get the most of the speaker it has to be EQd, depending on the situation. Here the app failed miserably. I would set the EQ and save the settings, but the app refused to keep the settings. It would randomly disconnect and repeated attempts to reconnect would fail until finally, at some point, it would connect again. Once reconnected, EQ would reset and since settings wouldn't really save, it had to be manually EQd every single time. It was impossible to maintain a consistent sound. This speaker has potential, but until the firmware/app are fixed, it's just a pain to use.

The JBL Eon Compact One is a really nice quality piece of kit! From the first time you hold it you can feel how solid the build is. Couple this with its compact form factor, sleek design and well thought out inputs and controls and its a winner. And once you add the JBL app into the equation it moves into a different league entirely! One big plus with this unit is the fact that as well as being able to add separate EQ to all of mic and instrument inputs (either 2 band manually or 7 band using the app) you can also add that same level of EQ to the auxilliary channel which means you can also EQ backing tracks or background music whether you connect up through a cable or the great onboard bluetooth! The ability to take a snapshot of your settings for a particular location is great as this means that when you return to that same location uou can simply recall your EQ settings by a touch of a button in the app, a great way to save set up time! My only real dislike about the unit is the fact that despite JBL claiming that its the loudest in category, like all of these small amps it could do with a little more volume but for most busking or small indoor events where you don't need to lift the roof this is a great quality solution! Up to FOUR of these can be linked and controlled by one device and all can be individually adjusted too so you can cover virtually any situation and if you have other active speakers there's a pass through output to allow you to add them to the JBL as reinforcement. So in conclusion - if your'e after a portable solution offering quality sound at a reasonable price then this offering from JBL is definitely worthy of your consideration!

I love these speakers! They are the perfect small PA speaker for small or medium size events. It would be great for a traveling musician or band. Or, as I use them, typically set up in a conference room with a microphone, some music, and input from a computer for a video presentation. This purchase is for my second one, and I will use these together to make a stereo pair in the room for more even coverage.I use a Shure wireless mic system, and the USB output on the speaker has enough power to power the Shure receiver (with a special USB power adapter I purchased), so I can be totally wireless by sitting the mic receiver on the top of the speaker and running everything off the speaker's battery. These will run all day in this setup on battery, which saves me so ... MoreI love these speakers! They are the perfect small PA speaker for small or medium size events. The Bose is a little smaller and easier to use because you don't have the button to change what the input control knobs are controlling. But ultimately I chose this JBL EON ONE because it has more inputs and the app to control it remotely.
The EON One Compact shines when it comes to sound quality, and that's where the emphasis should be. Other nice features: portability, socket for speaker stand, Bluetooth input, and phantom power. Incidentally, these last two features are why I chose the Eon Compact over the Roland Street Cube EX. Where the EON falls short: like other reviewers, I struggle to use the controls which use red light to indicate their position. I presume a dial that is 1/2 lit is at 50% of its range, but it's by no means obvious, and having no physical minimum or maximum position makes it doubly challenging. Yes, I am old school - give me a knob that goes from 1 to 10 (or 11) with a hard stop at the low and high ends. I also am a bit challenged by the mixing flexibility. The unit has ... Yes, I am old school - give me a knob that goes from 1 to 10 (or 11) with a hard stop at the low and high ends. I also am a bit challenged by the mixing flexibility. The unit has separate controls for volume, bass, treble, and reverb. A "channel" button lets you scroll through each of the channels, and the one you select is indicated by a red light. You select the channel you want, then make the appropriate adjustments. If you push the channel button until all channels are lit up, the bass, treble, volume, and reverb controls become volume controls that let you mix the volume of each channel. It takes a while to get used to, and I think I'd prefer to adjust the mix with a single volume control for each channel. One thing I am struggling with and I plan to reach out to JBL is whether I can connect a personal monitor to let me hear what's going on in the mix. To prevent feedback, the EON has to be at your side or in front of you, which makes it difficult to hear your own singing and playing. If you connect headphones it disconnects the speakers. There is a line-out jack that the manual says lets you hook up two or more EON Compact for larger venues. I would like to connect just a small mic stand-mounted monitor. I have run a cable from the line out jack into a small powered speaker and there was a delay between the main speaker and monitor that made it impossible to use.I don't consider these issues to be deal-breakers, just the difference between a four-star and five-star review.
I am an amateur acoustic guitar player and wanted an amp that could go anywhere with me. I am also a 69 year old woman and live in a 55+ community where I host an open mic/karaoke night so I wanted something I could use for both. This speaker works beautifully for both.Pros: Not too heavy for taking to the clubhouse. Accommodates 2 mics and 1 instrument. At the same time we can use it for YouTube karaoke by connecting my laptop to this speaker via Bluetooth while simultaneously connecting the laptop to an overhead projector with a VGA cord. We bring up karaoke on YouTube and the sound comes through this speaker. No need to buy a karaoke machine, and when someone wants to play for open mic we can just plug in their guitar and it's ready to go. This thing has great ... No need to buy a karaoke machine, and when someone wants to play for open mic we can just plug in their guitar and it's ready to go. This thing has great sound for voice using a Sennheiser dynamic mic, and also great for acoustic guitar. Haven't tried electric guitar but have no doubt it would perform well.Cons: the only con was that at first, I couldn't figure out how to use all the buttons, even after reading the manual. I had to educate myself on the terms used in the audio world that are options on this speaker. My biggest breakthrough came from my local Sam Ash! I took my speaker in and asked the speaker guy how to set it up and he was awesomely helpful. In 15 minutes I understood how to use this speaker, and when I went back to the manual, it finally made sense. Glad I bought this where I could get in person support. One other issue was that we did get spotty Bluetooth performance during a thunder and lightning storm but that's not really an issue with the speaker, just a lesson learned about Bluetooth connections.I have used this speaker outside for an Easter service, and inside at a memorial service and for open mic and karaoke. I love it!

It delivers 100 degrees of its sound horizontally and 60 degrees vertically and can be used upright or laid on its side.Pragmatically designed with a built-in two-way powered mixer, 8” woofer and 1” tweeter, this 4 channel PA system demonstrates functionality and independence and its obvious that many considerations were given during the design process because of its many additional features. It has a frequency response of 37.5 Hz – 20kHz and provides 2 - XLR/TRS combo jacks, 1 - ¼” Hi-Z, and 1 – 1/8” aux Input jacks. Outputs include 1 – 1/8” headphone jack, 1- ¼” pass thru. The power button, master volume, CH selector for Input of gain and tone adjustments and 4 - CH mode/mix controls that can either be used alone or to adjust the Gain are all on the unit.Built in effects (Reverb, delay, chorus) and other tonal fine tunings can be controlled along with an 8-band output equalizer, customized saved presets, and the 4-channel mixer by using the JBL Compact Connect app. For stereo sound just connect two of these units thru the ¼” pass thru output jack and control them by using the app. Up to four (4) units can be connected and all can be controlled through the app. At 112 dB Output this product has the highest volume in its class.Another considerate feature of the JBL EON One that works well is the one touch ducking for voice over music/vocals. If spoken word is initiated through the mic, the volume of the music will duck down. Phantom power supports any condenser mic and we have been using one that is cardioid dynamic 48V. It works great and the sound delivery is professional. It delivers a very clear speech and musical sound without any distortion. The JBL EON One also has 2 external charging USB ports. Audio streaming can occur up to 30 feet, but I like to just listen to an old favorite 60s radio station (WAKY) out of Louisville KY on my iPad and stream it through the speaker when I am working around home or in my office. The iPad can charge continuously by using one of the USB ports and rest in the built-in tablet stand. The battery life, charging and battery change-out are also components of this product that have been carefully considered. A full charge while not in use takes about 2.5 hours. While in use it takes a little longer to fully charge and does take up to about 6 hours. If the PA system is being used for long periods of time, the battery is supposed to last up to 12 hours. (We have not used it continuously that long yet to have evaluated exactly how long the battery life extends.) And even though the system can be used while powered with electricity, a tool-free swappable battery option provides for an additional 12 hours of use on an additional Lithium Ion battery.Whether a singer/songwriter, solo performer, band, professor, educator, DJ, community leader, religious speaker, coach, presentation consultant, fitness instructor, emcee, or just a corporation or hotel looking for an all in one PA system that is compact, lightweight and professional, this is the unit to own. Its many uses go farther than mentioned here, and it should be the top choice for wherever one might need a portable, lightweight, quality, professional PA system that does it all. I really like this system and definitely recommend that you take a look at this one!
Bought 2 speakers in July 2022. But I won't be buying more. There are some pro and cons (as you might expect with any speaker).1. Battery life is great. Charge and go with no issues.2. Multiple inputs with the onboard mixing.3. USB power source for 12v (like my wireless mic). Required accessory purchase.4. Happy with sound quality and tone for 150w 8" speakers. Here is what I wish I knew before I purchased:1. The bluetooth distribution is hub and spoke. This means there is one source speaker and then you have your receiver speakers. So you can't really spread these around a patio daisy chain style they need to be with in range of the source.2. The bluetooth linking only links the bluetooth source. It's DOES NOT bluetooth distribute the mix to remote ... MoreBought 2 speakers in July 2022. But I won't be buying more. So you can't really spread these around a patio daisy chain style they need to be with in range of the source.2. The bluetooth linking only links the bluetooth source. It's DOES NOT bluetooth distribute the mix to remote speakers. This means if I have a mic, keyboard and track none of it will be rebroad cast to the remote speakers using the BT sync. Only the BT is synced with remote speakers. I suspect this is due to the older version of BT tech the speakers use and latency and sync issue which would be noticeable in a live environment.3. I understand the need for infinity knobs with an app that can control volume. But the knob light is very hard to see in daylight and the adjustment light has a long light band. This means syncing speaker to the same volume without using the app is hard because there is no precision control on the main or channel volume. My solution is I just turn the main and channels up 100% since I almost always use an external mixer.4. The BT connection audio indicator is more than annoying. Here is the scenerio: Connect your phone BT to the speaker BT so you can control the speaker. Get everything working... the performer is playing ... then you walk out of range.. then return ... the phone and speaker reconnect. This is confirmed by a BT connection audio tone through the speakers (while the performer is playing). In conclusion I like the speakers. I'm keeping them. The USB charging external device is the tipping feature for me over their competitor - otherwise I would have returned. But I've disconnect the BT from all my devices and use a 3rd party 2.4g wireless transmitter/receiver from main out (so I get all channels) to the remote speaker. Or cable the speakers together.
This is a terrific little system, perfect for jams and small venues. I suspect this could go larger as well and if more power is needed, then you're into a full FOH system anyway and this is your monitor. Or get another for double the fun, perhaps. Think I might do that. Some folks dis the app - I think it's *quite good* actually and well-designed. If you need more capabilities, then go for a small mixer. Otherwise, one must temper expectations for a phone app. It can be a little difficult to slide your finger to the exact frequency for the eq, but again, it's a phone app, not a 100mm Alps fader.I haven't had any issues with the power button - I just treat it how I like to be treated - gently! In short, JBL has packed a lot of very useful functionality into a ... I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS!!!I used these for a great speaker option at my backyard wedding. Why rent when the delivery fees were $500! Get two speakers that can go with you anywhere, with batteries that really last for 10+ hours. Bluetooth, app connectivity for added sound shaping and EQ, and the ability to add mics, cords, or no cords. We could talk or not talk for hours! Listen, the power from these puppies is incredible. Crystal clear. Super loud, or just great for background. We used a mic (Shure) and had zero feedback during the ceremony. I loved the portability of the system. I do recommend wires for important events, but for a beach BBQ or home use, the Bluetooth is totally awesome. Rad speakers. I love ‘em.
