JBL - Flip 4 Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Black

I bought this JBL Flip 4 (in 2018) because the charging port in my Flip 3 had broken and I thought if I loved the 3, may as well upgrade to the new version. The only difference in appearance was going from a turquoise / teal model to the camouflage design, and that was because the colour didn't matter and this camo was 25$ less. These speakers pack a punch for their size and being connected through blue tooth. There are a few similar competitors on the market, I would prefer an option to customize the sound with regard to bass or contrast, but not at the cost of nearly $100 extra. This isn't my primary stereo but a portable, H2O proof (limited) and durable option at a more than fair price. I bought the hard shell case to go with it and am still using it in 2022. **PRO TIP- The design appears you can't change the battery but you can take the backing off and buy a battery for less than $12 to have the speaker work like new. This is the only change I've made in 5 years and I use it quite a bit.

The JBL Flip is a little Bluetooth speaker that packs a BIG kick! I expected it to lose sound quality the louder the volume got, but that wasn’t the case at all. Didn’t sound staticky or distorted or anything like I had expected for a cheaper price point, smaller, speaker. I used it at a party with tons of people and didn’t even need to turn it up to the max. I was shocked at how well it sounds with music that had a lot of bass, too. It really “bumps”. I also have an Ultimate Ears Wonderboom as well, and in my honestly opinion, the JBL Flip 4 out performs it. I even have better connection with the JBL from my iPhone than I do with the UE. I love this thing. I have had this for a couple of years. The only gripe I have bout this is its still using USB, other than that I like this speaker better than the flip 5, and the all new flip 6. This one has two high note speakers up front and two mini subs on the ends. Compared to the other two only having one high note speaker on front. This little thing gets loud! You can also make calls on it and use the app to use google voice on it as well. It's also water resistant. I have taken this in the shower with me to listen to tunes. All in all a great speaker still even till this day. It's worth a buy still.

I recently purchased the JBL Flip 4 speaker, and I have been incredibly impressed with it so far. The sound quality is outstanding - it packs a full, punchy bass reminiscent of a much larger speaker, while still having clear mids and highs. I have listened to music, podcasts and videos on it, and have been more than satisfied. It's also incredibly durable and lightweight - I took it outside recently and it didn't suffer any damage. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for good sound quality in a portable package.

I have been reviewing this speaker for about a week and a half. This speaker has a great sound which last all 8 hrs I was playing it and still had battery left. The speaker is really loud but does distort at top volume depending on music style. I really like the look of the red speaker as you can see in pictures. I was unable to try the waterproofing but sure it works just as all other features do. I feature I can't wait to try and most interesting is the Party Boost. To connect and stream to several speakers. I can't wait to hear that sound. Overall a great speaker with really good features and sound.

Bluetooth on button nonfunctional

I have had this JBL FLIP 4 waterproof speaker less than 30 days now and haven't used it more than 4-5 times. Last night I disconnected my Bluetooth and the speaker in order for someone else to connect and use the speaker for their playlist. It connected briefly to the other cell and then lost the discovery and the connection of the JBL speaker. After attempting to rediscover the speaker on my phone, researching online for a hard reset, and multiple times to rediscover the Bluetooth connection on my cell, I finally gave up. My fingertips are literally sore and tender from applying pressure to the buttons to reset the speaker. I am embarrassed and disappointed in this device and this morning after contacting customer service support, the only other advice I received was to push the BT button simultaneously with the plus button, instead of the play button- in order to perform a hard reset. This also did not work. I am disappointed in the product entirely and I am so glad it is still under warranty. I purchased it on Black Friday from Walmart online and I will be returning this device today. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely not. Instead, invest in a more reliable, albeit more expensive device and save yourself the stress and the headache of attempting to use a subpar device from a subpar company.

JBL Flip 4 Ocean Blue, Great Product!!

Hello there, I bought the JBL Flip on Ebay to replace the 3 year old one that developed a battery life issue after 3 years. These things work great and work well with Bluetooth or with the 1/8in pin jack on your phone or mp3. I'm really happy with the Blue one and it is NOT too heavy to carry around and is about the size of a tall beer can. And yes Virginia it is loud enough to wake everyone up in my house but outside it lacks some because it needs something like walls to bounce the sound off of. Sometimes I put mine in the sink for a change in sound. And it is IPX7 waterproof so rain at least will not bother it at all. The only flaw that I have found in 3 years is the battery life but they are replaceable (Ebay for about 20.00) see YouTube on that. Lasted 1 month past warranty

Purchased in December 2021 as a present. Was used once or twice a week for a couple of hours. Sounds pretty good at low to medium levels. Tinny at higher levels. Likes to connect to multiple devices if they are in the area.Would probably have given 4 stars if it had lasted more than 13 months. Of course, it died one month past warranty. JBL said basically - Oh well, here is a 35% coupon for your next JBL purchase as we believe it would cost more for a repair than to replace. Uh, ok. Simply Amazing Soundstage!

Knowing the name JBL from home speaker days, I wasn't too worried about the expected quality. But..JUST WOW!I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised as to how great these relatively small speakers actually sounded!!Normally a $100 speaker, how could one go wrong @ $60?!It sounded so good that I immediately went online to buy ANOTHER at this price; so I could hook them up in Stereo!You need to DL the JBL Connect app, to connect 2 speakers in Stereo, but trust me, it's WELL worth the effort!Simply Amazing Soundstage!

worst possible experience

Purchased a couple years back and it was great until I decided to take advantage of the waterproof aspect and use it in the shower. BAD IDEA !!!! Always off to the side of the tub or my shower caddy where little to no water would splash on it. About a month later it sounds staticky and although i don’t mind that so much it then started turning off and on by itself. I tried everything, I researched multiple ways to reboot it and none worked. I resorted to wrapping it up in multiple towels, shoving it into a suitcase with more towels lined on top. and it was still. so. loud. and annoying. The power on/off and pair sounds were all overlapping. No matter which drawer or closet i’d put the suitcase in i could still hear it. It’s 5 AM right now.
