JBL - Partybox 300 Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Black

I bought this for outdoor use - taking to baseball tournaments, patio parties, picnics, etc. I have not tried using it for any professional purpose (DJ, live shows, karaoke). I have been using it for a few months now. Pros: -The sound on the speaker is amazing. At max volume, I can flood an entire baseball field with "Green Onions" and have gotten tons of compliments on how great it sounds by people at the ballpark. The bass can be tweaked in the app with the touch of a button, and I love switching between deep and punchy depending on the song. -The speaker is so far holding up very well. I am putting some miles on the handle, wheels, and lugging it over all kinds of terrain like rocky parking lots, grassy fields, dusty dirt paths. Is it getting kinda dirty? Has it come down with a few scratches? Sure. But all in all, it is holding up better than I expected with all the bumps and jiggling. I haven't dealt with moisture yet, but it is supposed to be able to withstand any thing besides being submerged (not an issue on solid ground, typically). -The battery life is great. I can charge it up overnight and take it to the park for the next couple of days playing near max volume and I have yet to run out of juice with it. Stated battery life is 18 hours and I have tested up to ~10 without issue. -Comes with a USB port that you can use to charge up your phone or other portable devices with the speaker's battery. It's not fast charging capable, but it will keep your device from draining and boost it slowly over time if you turn the screen off. It's a small detail but I find it very convenient since without my phone the speaker is a giant paperweight. -The lights are cool, but I have yet to really use them. They are bright enough to be visible during the day and are a cool feature, but I just haven't found myself using them much. Cons -Thing is a bit heavy. Not too heavy so that my wife can't lift it and lug it around, but it certainly dampens it's portability. 10 lbs less somehow and this thing would be amazingly portable. Unless you're taking it over smooth, even ground you will be a bit tired if you have to take it further than 50-100 yards. So, not the speaker to take on a hike - definitely the speaker to take car camping. I would have liked to see slightly wider wheels on it, as the roller-blade like wheels on it now can get be unsteady when hitting bumps in a sidewalk and cause the speaker to start rocking - when this happens just stop, let it settle, and start moving forward again. Otherwise, the rocking momentum will build and cause it to try and tip over. I think fatter wheels would give it more stability when being pulled by the telescoping handle. -Some folks may not like the scratches it will take in moving it around everywhere. I see these as a patina from being put to good use - as long as it still works fine and the handle/wheels hold up, I do not mind some scratches or discoloration. I'm using it outdoors and taking it to so many places that I think expecting something to come out looking pristine is unreasonable. -One feature I wish that it had (and maybe could be added to the app in a future update) is a fade in/fade out button for when I'm transitioning songs (or if I was making an announcement and needed a short break in the song). An abrupt pause and start can be distracting to listeners, and it would be cool if I could just push a button in the app and it would automatically start fading out over 5-10 seconds, then start fading up. I can do this manually with my volume buttons but I usually don't because it is clunky. Overall, great bluetooth speaker. Well-designed, looks great, and I have yet to take it somewhere without drawing a compliment. People ask where I got it, what brand it is ("Ohhhh yeah JBL, they are really nice"), etc. It is a bit of an investment for the price, but I am using it weekly and expect to continue using it for years to come. After my experience using the speaker, my opinion is that the price is justified by the quality and functionality.

I bought this JBL partybox 300 speaker last year. Mainly so that occasionally my family can gather to eat and sing karaoke. The speaker is very easy to adjust and the sound is also very good. It also has colorful lights on the front of the speaker. Once charged, the battery can be used continuously for several hours. I really like this speaker.

I am delighted with my JBL Partybox 300 speaker. It has a lot of clarity and a loud bass sound. I recommend it for quiet listening to music at home and of course for outdoor parties. I used it with Pila all night long for an outdoor party where about 60 people were there and it had an excellent performance. At home, I connected it in sequence to another Klipsch 2.1 device because it can be connected to the 3.5 aux cable, as it has an output as well as an auxiliary input. The app is easy and agile. I totally recommend it, before buying it I compared it to a Sony 710 and an LG, but it was the best of the 3. I also recommend the Sony but this JBL 300 is the champion

Technically we have a partybox 310 but it wont let me review that select model so- 300 for the review..... DUDE! THIS THING BUMPS!!!!! So my husband knows i listen to music ALL day decided this was the present for me- uhhhh YEAH! TOTAL WIN!! I truly cant believe i lived without it before!! I listen to whatever i want for hours can hear it in every room IF i chose to put the volume up. (you know- moments completely alone in the home so it doesnt bother anyone else closer to it) I plug it in when needed the sound booms louder then while the battery is dying. Because ours has wheels, we take it outside use it while hanging out, workin on the yard, our now favorite- using it w/ our projector for outdoor movies! It easily attaches to my phone my projector! Different light settings for fun or even a dark mode for outside movie nights or just because you dont want the lights. Oh the colors of lights changes too so its always interesting! I am blown away with the amazing JBL partybox club speakers. I have 2 of these and they are the best i have ever owned. I absolutely love the colours of the lights. The sound quality is omg absolutely outstanding. No set up required. Easy as switch on your Bluetooth and it connects within seconds. I have 2 of these speakers and they are the best home technology items i have invested in. These are a great addition to my living-room. The speakers are portable so can be moved around the house room to room. Also be taken outside. These can be used on a battery or wired. These are well made and very durable. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for great speakers. The sound quality is amazing. A step above other speakers at it's price point

I'd been considering a soundboks gen 3 but, in the end, couldn't justify $1,000 for Bluetooth speaker that you're taking outside to tailgates, camping, etc.I looked at the aiwa exos 9 which is in this price point and has a replaceable battery but that speaker is getting quite dated at this time and whoever now owns aiwa seems to be hanging on by a thread.After some research, I settled on the partybox 300 because it has an extra tweeter which helps even the sound when you set it on it's side and it's $100 less than the 310 for basically the same speaker minus some bells and whistles (but again that additional tweeter).The speaker is loud but no more so than many other, smaller, cheaper devices. What sets this apart is the bass. This thing is big and heavy and it pumps out amazing bass for a battery operated speaker. Battery life is also good, of course with the bass on high and the music cranked up, you're getting more like 5 hours on a charge. Lights will eat the battery too.All this to say, buy it. It's fun, well built, and loud enough for most any setting.

I looked at the reviews on the 300, some like it, some don't but since it was on sale, one of my son's took my 100 off my hands and I purchased the 300 thinking it's must be better than the 100 because more power and larger speakers right? Well not the case. Some reviews say the 300 has tons of bass, some say "where's the bass" but no one tells you at what level they are listing at. I found that if you use the speaker most of the time for indoor listing to enjoy some music and you don't really need to go past 50% volume, then the 100 outperforms and deserves it's award. If you need a speaker mainly for parties that you want to crank it up to be as loud as possible, then the 300 might be a better choice. At high volumes, the 300 delivers more low end that you can feel but still the 100 delivers more crisp highs. I ended up giving my 300 to my other son in exchange for his 100 since he uses it more at high volumes and outdoors and still, he's a little disappointed at the bass. Don't understand why JBL doesn't make the 300 like the 100 but louder and if they would add some controls for adjusting your own bass, midrange and highs, they would be such an amazing speaker.
