Absolutely Love This Thing
Every year I rent 2 speakers and stands for a backyard party and after reviewing the 110, 310, 710 and 1000 I was convinced that the performance, size, onboard battery and portability of the 310 would be close to what my guests were used to. This 310 POUNDS and was MORE than enough to power the 4 backyards that were forced to stop their festivities and join in with ours. It proved to slaughter a neighbourhood but pump smooth and clear tunes at low volume to avoid the authorities. I can't wait to head out to cookouts to take advantage of the wheels and handle for tailgating and the beach. I was forced as a Canadian to ship this to a cousin who then brought it over and it is a SHAME that more folks on BOTH sides of the border don't know about this speaker. My guests ... My guests were all searching for it after the experience. Get yours and click BUY NOW without hesitation. Its only downfall that I have found so far is that the power output is a bit different plugged in compared to on battery power but it isn't enough for you to change the decision from this speaker or for you to be bothered with the slight difference. In addition, calling the B&H staff before purchase to plan the shipping timing and if the stock was actually accurate was critical to choosing the speaker and B&H over other retailers who claimed to have it in stock but really meant that it would ship in 15 business days. The B&H advantage strikes again and I've learned my lesson that I don't need to second guess you again. THANK YOU... Show more

Best in class speaker
Even for its size, which is somewhat substantial, the sound is much better than expected. I wouldn't expect dual 6" subwoofers to outclass a single 12" sub, but they do. The tweeters are also very good. You'll need to set the EQ on your device itself and forget about the app, except with regard to the bass boost and lighting effects. It will sound great out of the box, but it's even better when you have some EQ presets for various types of media. I don't see anyone needing more than one of these unless they have a mansion, or they plan to fill a loud sports field with music. The sound doesn't seem to distort much at volumes I find myself using, but my house is small. I've never had to max it out. This speaker is, without a doubt, best in class with regard to its ... It beats out many speakers larger than itself, and anything smaller has no chance.Sound: Best in class!Portability: Yes, this speaker is portable-ish. With a very smooth set of wheels and a sturdy extending handle, it moves easily.Battery life: Having had this speaker for a couple of months, it has been sitting idle with occasional use, not plugged in the whole time. Right now, it sits at 95% battery. The sound quality doesn't seem to drop when unplugged, though I've not yet tested it at low battery.... Show more

This thing is awesome! Blows your socks off. Great quality sound. Total karaoke system if youve got a cheap iPad or tv setup.Ive just about used every feature on this thing. Ive got a pair of wireless mics which I use with this. The adapter supports two mics seamlessly so with this speaker you could actually use 4 mics or 2 mics and a guitar or for the absolute best sound quality one wired mic and one wired mic or guitar. One absolutely essential feature which I wasnt aware of is that the inputs are independently controlled from the audio source. So you can perfectly fine tune your voice balance. For karaokeI prefer to use an audio out cable from the TV and wire it directly to the AUX port on the speaker. Having a large tv for lyrics is a game changer. I dont think ... Great for Indoor; Mixed Feelings for Outdoor
Bought this a couple of weeks ago and overall, it's pretty amazing. I was originally going to buy a lower model, but glad I didn't. I'm debating whether or not to get a 710 model - if it had an internal battery like this 310, I definitely would but the no battery was a deal breaker for travel. Depending on your needs, this will either fully deliver or be slightly short. For example, in our house as a floor speaker, this thing is more than enough in our open area floor plan (living, dining, kitchen all in one area - about half of our 1,600 sq ft house). If you have this outdoors, like we did on the lake this past week or at a pool party the week before, it still bumps but could definitely be louder and with more bass (although everyone else around me thinks it's more ... I think overall this thing is a beast and well worth it, but if you plan to use it indoors or just want MORE (like me), consider a higher model. I'm used to a powerful 12" subwoofer in my car powered by a 500 watt amp (plus separate amp for speakers/tweeters), so the 310 at 240W is a little light for me. However, I do think that anything heavier than the 310 is also probably difficult to move around so if you're not overly picky about blaring music and bumping bass and just want something solid, I think this 310 could be the way to go.... Great Speaker, great sound, but with a couple design flaws.
I got this speaker for use at home and during my co-ed sports league nights for music at the field. I needed something that was more powerful than the JBL Charge4 I already had. The options that allow for Microphone/karaoke use was just a nice bonus. The sound is nice and sharp, and the bass is crazy strong. It's met all my criteria as far as a battery powered speaker. The reason it misses a full 5 star rating is because some of the extra features I was excited about are nice, but miss the mark a bit. If JBL releases a new version and fixes these things I'd easily give that iteration 5 stars. The wheels and handle - A great Idea, however a couple problems keep it from actually being great. If JBL releases a new version and fixes these things I'd easily give that iteration 5 stars. The wheels and handle - A great Idea, however a couple problems keep it from actually being great. The wheels are small and a hard plastic/rubber type material, I'm assuming that they were kept small to try and prevent them from causing the speakers width from being affected. They don't really have any give or cushion so if you're on anything but the smoothest of surfaces this thing is going to start rocking and tipping over. The handle (while nicely designed to hide away flush with the top of the speaker) is VERY wiggly/loose when extended. So if one tire hits any sort of rock or bump bigger than a quarter inch in height, the speaker begins to tilt over, and the large amount of twisting give extending handle has lets the speaker lean over even farther. This leads to situations where you have to stop and try to catch the speaker because the extending handle feels like it might snap if you try to catch the whole speakers weight with it. I scuffed up the bottom of the speaker a bit when I was pulling it across an older cement sidewalk because of this, so now I tend to just pick the whole thing up and carry it unless I'm on near perfectly smooth surfaces.Port covers - Part of the draw for this speaker was the water resistance rating it boasted which is very nice for a speaker used outdoors. They protected the various microphone, power, aux, and USB ports via a set of covers that pop in quite nicely over the port area. The covers are also attached to the speaker so you don't have to worry about setting them down and forgetting them somewhere. However, they chose to have the portion that attaches at the top of the cover, so when you are plugging things in and/or trying to adjust microphone sound levels the cover dangles down over top of the cords. Not only does it put pressure on the connectors and cords you have plugged in, but it's pretty much impossible to see what you're doing unless you crouch/kneel down to look under the cover. The cover itself seems to cover the ports very well and does not come loose accidentally, if they could have just attached it to the speaker via the bottom or side of the panel instead of the top it would be much less frustrating.Software/options - The app for the speaker is very nice and has worked great. The main complaint for it is that some limitations seem pretty silly. There are 3 quick press DJ/Karaoke type sound effect buttons that can be changed between a set of super generic sounding effects. The fact that (as of right now) there appears to be no way to customize or upload your own sounds (or just to assign sounds from your mobile device to play through it) seems a bit lazy to me. The other disappointment is the fact that you can't connect multiple speakers via bluetooth unless they are ALL partybox 310's. They do allow you to daisy chain different speakers via physical cords, but honestly not being able to at least connect to the other models of party box speakers seems a bit lazy to me.Despite those complaints, this is still a great sounding, beefy speaker with some great battery life. I've enjoyed using it at home and inside for the past few weeks I've owned it. If it holds up as well as my Charge 4 has, then I will be glad to continue purchasing JBL products in the future.... Just as nice as new but at a fraction of cost
I bought the Partybox 310 refurbished as I have looked at many reviews recommending this speaker. At the refurbished price it is especially worth the price. The Partybox 310 can power through even some bigger parties, especially when in AC Mode when it ist plugged into the wall. For Party use, the speakers sound is just awesome. The first, deep bass boost gives you even more deep bass and puts the bass on another level. Personally I wouldn't use the second bass boost level as it boosts the higher bass frequencies making the bass far too boomy for my liking. The Mids and Highs are also done very nice. Never overpowering or shouty and especially there is no sibilants noticeable at any loudness.I wouldn't use the speaker for Studio listening, but regarding this, ... They are a little bit on the small side, so flat surfaces are recommended, but over grainier terrain you always have the option to carry the speaker. So overall a very nice choice for almost every party. If you plan a very, very big event either buy two Partyboxes and use them in their stereo mode or look at full PA equipment.... Show more

Pairing 310 with on-the-go and using as guitar amp
1) It's possible to pair On-the-Go with a 310, by using a 3.5mm cable. The 310 would act as the main source, and use it's out line to OTG's audio input at the back. Problem is, it's not stereo, it's mono. And the sound from OTG as the secondary speaker is overpowered by the 310 (so this setup is not recommended)2) It's obvious that OTG can be paired with another OTG. What isn't obvious is that the mic will only work on one speaker. So if you're using two OTGs to function as a karaoke system then both speakers will have music, but only one will have a mic. Each of the Mics will only be projected on their respective speakers not both. For this reason, I returned the other OTG that I bought. I wanted the mic to work on both speakers--but they don't.3) When pairing 2 OTGs together, they have to be within about 10 feet apart. Anything more than that, the speakers will start to stutter and lose TWC connection.4) With regards to the OTG or 310 working as a guitar amp. It's not an ideal setup for guitarists doing solos. The "gain" settings, leaves much to be desired. The speaker working as a guitar amp I think would work best with an electric-acoustic, not an electric guitar. For an electric guitar, the speaker is "a better than nothing" situation. This being said, I've never really bought a party speaker before. But once I tried out the OTG, I had to buy another one (the 310). It's that good, that a person like me who NEVER buys a party speaker... JBL made me buy two (actually 3, I ended up returning the 2nd OTG). The OTG is great for smaller parties, but for larger events, Just one 310 would do some damage--it's pretty potent!... Show more

Sound is very true and clear with good bass if needed.
First off, the sound is great. I originally was going to purchase the Sony "equivalent", but after watching some Youtube reviews decided to go with this. I'm happy I did. I like the light feature better, I like the sound, I like that it has 3 levels of Bass, or 2 levels of bass boost if you will. This speaker is tremendously loud for it's size, but it's very clean and clear. The bass isn't overwhelming, but with the right music, you can definitely feel the music. Other features I enjoy are the transport wheels and handle, as well as the option to plug it into your vehicle with the right cord, although it isn't provided. I'm not sure if it's the intent, because I haven't read the manual yet, but I've been using the top tray for holding my phone. I can definitely see ... MoreFirst off, the sound is great. Versatile party speaker with great sound!
I initially had an LG RK7 which had significant issues with the Bluetooth module, and ultimately it failed one day and stopped working (was only two years old). I didn’t want a direct replacement because one, it was plug-in only and I realized that wasn’t the best choice overall since you’re limited to positioning the speaker against an outlet and two, you couldn’t really use it outside. We had a gender reveal upcoming and needed another party speaker (we just love loud music and karaoke with everything we do) and came across the partybox 310 - WOW! My other speaker had a mic input but no mixer, so we have a mic mixer that allows for audio but then limited the ability to sing and use the mic while playing music easily. You can add reverb/echo to the mic and have subtle tuning on voice sound EQ. This allows you to prevent voices from sounding so tinny. In terms of the audio quality, it’s fantastic! Of course it’s boomingly loud, but the sound retains quality even at high volumes! There are various bass effects to make it punchier or heavier so whatever you’re listening to sounds amazing. We listen to a variety of music: hip hop, EDM, trap, rock, (and lots of Bad Bunny) etc - I even use the speaker bluetoothed to my Peloton to add a better experience to riding. The battery life is great, I mean you can play it in a medium sized patty room or community room at ~50% volume for HOURS AND HOURS, probably all day long. It’s also great that it’s a little weather resistant so outdoor use is encouraged and fun! There’s other features that I’m interested in, like the PA speaker stand setup to get the speaker off the ground which may improve both fidelity and distance the speaker reaches, as well as connecting multiple speakers together. It is a steep price, but it’s 100% worth it for the fidelity, usefulness and battery life, especially if you love hosting parties or having music envelope your surrounding! 10/10 would purchase it again....
