Second,You can not run two of these in stereo. Mono only. When connecting the pre out to the input of the second unit. The second unit has noticeably more noise than the first unit. No matter how you adjust the eq and fx i can still hear pink noise on the second unit when connected together. I think jbl really intends this to be used as a standalone unit. Compared it to all of the others in store and it was just better. The ONLY con I have, if you can even call if that, is that the user interface is pretty complicated. But with that, you get a TON of customization and control. The app is amazing as well. If you aren't into sound and all that stuff you can just use the EQ presets that come as an option in the menus and they sound incredible as well.I really love this thing, I mean that. If you're trying to choose between Bose or JBL, let this be the sign to not buy the Bose product and go with the PRX one. It's just better in every way.

Sounds amazing!!!! First off I NEVER write reviews because I never believe them to be true until I test, but I always read them when researching a product. With this system being so new there is not much help so I hope this helps someone make the right choice for their needs. I have been involved in music for over 30 year DJ to bands... from Hip Hop to Country. For the the past 15yr my speakers of choice has been the powered QSC 12s and 18s (wood).I have always look down on people using the line array systems but always noted the sound quality but NEVER thought I would walk away from the traditional tops with a traditional low. I got the JBL PRX ONE last night and I was blown away with the amazing sound that came out of such a small system. The sound that came from these speakers is amazing to say the least. I only hooked up to bluetooth last night and was able to walk to the end of my drive way using bluetooth and the music was still clear coming from my phone in my hand at about 80 feet 1/4 of its sound before I realized it was almost 10pm on Tuesday night. I just got one of the systems and would be willing to say this is going to be able to cover a room with 200+ people. I will get a second system because I think it "looks" better for wedding. Most of the weddings I DJ are 200-300 I was able to reach what is a reach the sound I use with just one speaker. One of my bigger shows is at a local high school with 1600+ kids. I will need a second system maybe add a sub but I am not sure if its needed until I get the second system. For now I can fully say I am SUPER PLEASED with the system.Lastly got to mention Chris M. from sales he went beyond what most do in sales. He provide me with info to help me make the right choices plus free shipping!!! Chris reached out to me on his day off to make the sale and also called the next day (his day off) to give me the delivery info. I will be sure to call him directly when I need anything.

Good but not sure if it's enough for my needs.
25 September 2021

I am trying this in my 3,500 sq.ft. wedding barn. For low to medium volume music it works great with clear sound. Great for dinner music or someone speaking. It's great to be able to pair with bluetooth and play music through the speaker and even remotely control the eq and effects. This seems like it would be a great system for a smaller coffee shop, winery, or restaurant. It's definitely not enough for my event space. The low end definitely is lacking, so not for DJs. Even with two of these hooked up, it would not have enough punch on the low end for my taste. I'm still considering keeping it just for the ease of setup and the fact it has built in effects and a mixer.

Great product but beware!

Overall:I purchased from zZounds in January and the subwoofer just went out and jbl are making me pay for shipping to Atlanta and who knows how long that will take. I’m a gigging musician and I need something I can depend on for longer than 5 months. As far as the speaker itself, it is a wonderful piece of engineering! Sounds fantastic and is very portable. Maybe I got a bum one but I think jbl should at least sent me a refurbished unit for something this expensive.

I Really Wanted to Buy a Pair of These!

I have been a QSC man for many years. Recently we have been booking a lot of extended travel wedding trips and I found myself in need of downsizing my system without sacrificing sound I spent about a month researching various column array systems and came down to either purchasing a pair of the JBL PRX One or the RCJ Evox J8s. During our previous road trip I was fortunate to find a GC that had demos set up of both units, several other array systems, and the QSC speakers that I was currently using. The QSC speakers I was using were quickly knocked out in head to head tests. The JBL and RCF were head and shoulders above all the other array systems as well. In a head to head the RCF and JBL were equal as far as sound quality. The JBLs did get a bit louder than the RCFs, but I didn't feel that they were $1000 a pair louder. The construction of the RCFs felt a bit more durable as well. The thing that pushed my decision over the edge was the fact that the arrays fit inside the back of the woofers for transporting. I needed to downsize and the RCF took me where I needed to be. I have done 3 weddings with the RCFs and have no regrets in buying them. Would I recommend the JBLs? YES! If you are not in need of downsizing to the smallest possible system, spend the money and get the best!

JBL PRX ONE - Very Impressive, almost perfect!

I haven't done many gigs with this yet, but I really like almost everything about it and I got great feedback the few times I gigged with it. Great sound, very powerful, tons of capability, generous channel count, great onboard effects, very portable (although that sub is surprisingly beefy and weighty). I wouldn't necessarily believe all the reviews that say the interface on the unit and the mobile app are clumsy or non-intuitive. I think the mobile app is perfectly intuitive and full-featured (check out some youtube videos on the mobile app and decide for yourself). I do prefer using the mobile app versus the menus on the unit itself. Clicking through drill-down menus on the unit itself seems like a compromise that was needed in order to fit the 7-channel mixer ... MoreI haven't done many gigs with this yet, but I really like almost everything about it and I got great feedback the few times I gigged with it. I do prefer using the mobile app versus the menus on the unit itself. Clicking through drill-down menus on the unit itself seems like a compromise that was needed in order to fit the 7-channel mixer and features onto the unit but it is not as easy as using the mobile app. The only 2 reasons I knocked off one star: 1) I wish the pass-thru (mix-out) feature could have 2 modes, one as a monitor/aux out and the other for extending to another main speaker or sub. Although the pass-thru it has it's own volume control, it is also affected by the main level, so if you want to use it like I do to feed a monitor, the monitor volume will change with the main volume level, so you have to then compensate with the pass-thru volume. I get why it's set up that way if you want to use pass-thru for second column or another sub, but would be nice if it could work in a monitor mode as well (maybe a feature could be added with firmware change?). 2) I wish it wasn't necessary to pair the bluetooth every time you want to connect your device. It does have separate bluetooth for control versus audio feed, which is nice. Not sure why it is setup that way needing to pair every time. Overall I'm thrilled with it though!

Amazing compact array speaker. I have the JBL EON One and just upgraded to the PRX One. I went to the GC store to test the ElectroVoice Evo50 and the new bose L1 por 16 head to head, and ended up chosing the JBL. It allows you to speak in the microphone right in front of the speaker with zero feedback; it is absolutely fantastic for weddings when guests grab the mic and start singing on the dancefloor!A fantastic piece of gear. My all-time favorite speaker. Thank you JBL!

Underwhelming...

I play solo Americana gigs, as well as duo and three piece bluegrass/americana gigs. First thing I noticed is - Why is there not a dust/scratch cover for the main unit? No brainer if you've ever hauled your own gear to a gig or two. Not a fan at all of the digital interface. Quirky and not intuitive. If you are adjusting volume while someone is playing it cuts out. Seems like a very slow processor...This thing is just awkward to have on stage for a duo or three piece. Do we put it between us? Off to the side? We have to stand behind it according to the manual, which is weird if it's in the center. It does sound decent, especially with the sub, but I think this is more for DJs or corporate events.
