Yes, you won't find clearer, more responsive, flat - full range sound. However, After 6 years of owning 2 speakers, and about 100 gigs, I have had to replace the power unit ($500) 3 times - only one within warrantee. I wish I would have gone with the passive 812s. I had to buy backup Eons just in case these go into protection mode - again. Official JBL repair tech says I am not alone with the problems, and JBL... your new Class D amps...ouch. Not for those who simply need to plug in, power up, and turn up..

I am somewhat of a gear nut and run professional sound. I was going to buy the V series, but after looking at reviews I bought the SRX to save a few thousand. Since I use a Sub, I opted for the 12" which does a superb job with the midrange (unlike many 15s) I was surprised at how it handled the low end as well. The sound is incredibly clean and responds great to EQ adjustments. I have used these during the summer at 1000+ person festivals and as small as 40 person event. I have not owned anything that comes close to this sound. Highly recommend. Only improvement would be the plastic adjusting knobs (all) fall out with little vibration on both speakers.

I just took them out of the box at a 2 day large outdoor festival. I was a little nervous about dialing them in as I am accustomed to just plugging in from analog A&H (basic). So I also ran a couple JBL JRX's along side for the first day, not the second. After turning the SRX812's on, I pushed in the button so it read ""main"", even though they were over subs, then dialed the attenuator to +10.5. That was it, and it was an incredibly clean sound. The second ""Wow"" for me. My first ""wow"" was the JBL VRX932 over subs. I honestly thought these were extremely close in sound quality, but now I am bias. History: I have owned Peavey, 4 different JBL's (JBL should have never exchanged the Pros series for the JRX), Yamaha (which I liked), and I still own Line 6 L2m's ... MoreI just took them out of the box at a 2 day large outdoor festival. I wanted to own the best sounding speakers (to my ears) within my budget. I am 100% satisfied with the sound. If you have a great band, you need great speakers. Get these or the VRX's.
Excellent powered monitor, extremely loud and clean. I use this as my keyboard amp. I've use Roland keyboard amps, Peavey and anything you can think of over many years, and nothing I've used compares with the quality that JBL and Crown power deliver together. No, it is not cheap, but if you are seeking the best for under $1000 you simply can't go wrong with this powered monitor. I play Dexibell digital piano and Hammond organ and this monitor easily covers the low end and the high end of my keyboards with absolute clarity even at extremely loud volume. I use a Yamaha mixer to feed this monitor and am very impressed at how loud, clean and honest my rig sounds. I will never again play my keyboards thru any so-called keyboard amplifier. There just isn't any comparison.
I've been doing since 96These by far are the best speakers I've ever used
