First of all I am fan on great headphones and I had many in my life and I have tested pros and cons of them. I personally enjoy JBL products what I have bought before. So I though I would buy JBL Tour One as they claim to be best headphones out there from JBL.Well I was so disappointed even after a 2 week of use.1. Bass sucks compared to JBL Club, even when Bass equalizer was set.3. Buttons are really bad designed. Touch button on the side is always pressed even without hands touching it, when I tried to sleep with them. For example blanket or pillow lightly touching it pause songs or plays next... in app there is no option to turn that button off or when headphones are set on silent mode so the buttons are disabled except turn off button...4. First time tried active noise cancelation and honestly speaking I do not see much difference from passive noise cancelation. There are moments where I can see that noise cancelation is pretty handy, but those situations are rare.5. when I taking headphones off, I noticed that button what switched between noise-cancelation/ambient-aware/off modes time at times are pressed because the placements is inconvenient and it is really sensitive.6. If automatic noise-cancelation is turned on and when taking headphones off they turn off noise-cancelation is great feature, then there was time when I had turned my head on the side to take a look under table and that turned off noise-cancelation automatically what makes that annoying beeping sound, and then again that sounds when they turns off. So disturbing... :(I personally believe they would be best headphones if the bass would be increased, and there would be more control in app over the headphones, like disabling buttons at all or at least when sleeping. Although Cushions are really soft what I really like, and also that ears are completely isolated in headphones is quite nice. But overall I am sorry guys but could not give more stars than 2.

Customizable & high-quality. Could sound better!

Every detail on the headphones is well-designed. However, the shiny parts of the headphones are fingerprint magnets. You do not always touch those areas, but when you do, fingerprint smudges are very visible.Features:First off, I love the touch function. The right ear cup (outside) works as a remote. If you tap it once the music starts/stops playing, tapping twice goes to the next song, and three times goes to the previous song. Tap and hold launches the voice assistant so either Google or Amazon Alexa or the native voice assistant (your phone’s built-in assistant e.g., Siri) which works quite well. I had no problems using it and it came in handy for some situations. However, it would have been nice if we had an option to turn the touch function on/off. I accidentally touched the touch panel various times with my shoulder when lying on the couch or in bed. A long press on the volume up button can act as the next song command and volume down would take us back to the previous song when the touch is not in use. That would have been a useful feature to have.I love the buttons as well. They feel high-quality and smooth to touch. However, the power on/off button was confusing at first. It goes to both sides and switching it back and forth took some time to get used to. Then, volume buttons are too close to each other. Again, you get used to it after a while but little bumpy plus and minus symbols on the volume keys or separation between the two would have been much more convenient. There’s only one button on the left cup which controls the ANC (noise canceling). From my experience, the placement of the button was a bit off. I caught myself accidentally clicking the button when sliding one ear cup behind my ear or taking the headphones off. One cool aspect about the tap and hold touch panel and the function button (ANC button) is that they are customizable (from the JBL Headphones application). They do not allow you to open a certain app or change it freely. However, you can choose between Voice Assistant, Ambient Sound Control, and WalkThru features. It might not seem like a lot but it is nice to have a bit of control over the use of buttons.Another really cool feature would be the “Play & Pause.” Sound automatically stops when you take off the headphones and it resumes as soon as you put them back on. I personally love that feature and it can easily be turned on/off from the JBL Headphones application. You can also select when you want your headphones to turn off if they are not in use. It ranges anywhere from 15-30 minutes to 4 hours and never (“Auto-off”). There is also the “Smart Audio & Video” function where it adjusts your listening experience. If you are watching a video, you select the video mode and that reduces the delay in between the video and audio. It syncs both together to create a smoother experience. However, it takes a few seconds to make that switch happen between available options. Then, there is a “My Alarm” feature in the application. I personally do not sleep with headphones but wanted to try it anyway for this review. I must say that the “Auto-off” feature is more user-friendly and it gets the job done better than this feature. There’s a “Keep Music on for” section where the music can play for 90 minutes maximum and then there’s a “SilentNow Session” section connected right below it which does not turn the headphones off or play songs with lower volume. It just keeps the headphones on for the alarm to wake you up in the morning. The alarm goes off from the headphones instead of the phone with this feature.Sound:Just like any other JBL product, the sound quality does not disappoint. However, it could’ve been better. One detail I noticed is that if you click the button on the left ear cup to activate ANC straight out of the box, it automatically goes into True Adaptive NC. It does an amazing job at keeping the outside noise out but it destroys the sound quality. Sure, it tries to adjust to the sound in my surroundings but there should not be a huge difference in sound quality. The bass feels missing and dry, vocals sound high-pitched and scratchy, and melodies lose their colors. However, once ANC is switched to “Everyday mode” that high-quality JBL sound takes over, as it should from the beginning. Ambient Sound Control works good as well. It allows in the sounds around you and helps you be aware of your surroundings. There is an equalizer built-in to the JBL Headphones application and it works great. It comes with a few sound presets but you can pretty much add as many presets as you want, name, organize, and arrange them. In addition, the microphone works really well. Most people I have had video and audio calls with said that it sounds like I am talking without headphones, the voice was very clear.Overall, the sound quality is good but it could have been better. I feel like the headphones are not loud enough but when it is at the highest volume, I did not feel any distortion. The sound quality was still the same. There is something about the mids that I just cannot fix. I tried playing around with the curve (in the app) and adjusting it according to get the best sound but it felt like a piece was missing. The mids feel a bit rough and hard. I had no problems with the lows, the kicks were very punchy and moody when I adjusted the curves but it was not the same for mids. Vocals felt like they were coming from far away or hidden under a cloth. It still sounded amazing but it could have been a bit better at this price range.Comfort:As mentioned above, paddings are made out of extremely soft leather material. They are very squishy, smooth, and cushiony on both the headband and ear cups. I had no problems using the headphones for long periods of time and it felt like they were not there, after some time – the headset feels really lightweight. They also stay in place and the headband has 12 levels for adjustments. You can definitely find your fit once you start exploring.Battery:This definitely varies depending on the using habits of headphones. Since I do not use the headphones without the ANC, I cannot make a comment about the 50-hour play time claim. However, I can say that they last around 20 hours with ANC on. They definitely fast-charge with the cable it comes in the box. I love how it is also a USB Type-C cable. Could’ve been Type-C to Type-C instead of Type-A but it still gets the job done and makes life easier.Case:I actually love the case. Unlike other cases with pouches on the side flop, this case stores the cables, and the flight adapter inside right underneath the headphones which is really convenient. A downside is that the divider is sewed on the case so you cannot take it out if you wanted to. One weird side to it is that the zipper unzips from the bottom to the top.

For context, if you have music playing at constant full blast, the noise cancellation is obviously most effective (near 100% noise cancellation—not perfect cancellation, but I don't know how healthy that would be for your ears), but without any music whatsoever, you can have a complete conversation with someone speaking at an indoor volume across from you. In comparison, the Sony headphones provide a satisfying sort of deafness, so if that is what you are looking for (shoutout to all premeds with noisy roommates) then you ought to go with those—as long as you intend to spend $300. I think that if it's the $150 I bought them from Best Buy for, then these are good value. I would advise everyone to only buy these on sale, and to only go up to $300 for better headphones.

Good sound quality, poor build quality
13 August 2022

I really wanted to like these headphones. I own several products from Harman, speakers from Revel and JBL Synthesis, and headphones from AKG. I was looking for a pair of noise cancelling headphones for travelling and wanted to give these a try. Out of the box the setup was easy, and they had good sound quality. However, after a few weeks of use they developed a “creaking” sound every time I moved my head. This seems to be a build quality issue. It appears to be coming from where the hinge and ear cup attach. This is not a signal or sound quality issue and can be heard with the headphones off. I did a warranty exchange though JBL. Good sound very annoying creaking
24 September 2022

Bought a few weeks ago. I find the sound is very good with these even with the preloaded settings. You can also adjust to personal preference through the app. Fit and comfort is very good. I will most likely be returning these however as there is an annoying creaking sound that comes from the headphones whenever I move my head. I thought I would get used to it but haven’t so far. Very disappointing considering the cost of these. If you don’t mind the creaking these are good sounding headphones. I would not recommend buying them. For a few extra dollars you can get premium Bose or Sony

Great all around headphones for travel!
14 September 2022

I wanted a pair of headphones with noise cancelling for travel without spending the money on a Bose pair. The Tour One gets you pretty close without breaking the bank. The noise cancelling works pretty well, and with the app you can modify it as needed. It is comfortable enough for wearing a few hours at at time for me.Pros:+ Pretty good noise cancelling, especially for plane engines+ Build quality feels good+ JBL app for setting works how you need+ Touch / Tap pause play works well.+ Cables and airplane connector includesCons:- Travel case is good but not sturdy inside as higher end headphones- Tap controls can get annoying if you hit accidentally

Overrated.I already had a TWS 215 from JBL. I was exited about thia Tour One too. However, it was total disappointment. The noise cancellation was ridiculous. I could hear the outside noise with my headphone full volume and noise ANC on,Whereas my TWS allows no noise! Iwould never expect it from a 299 € purchase. About the sound quality beats were not balanced with the preloaded configurations in the app. Battery Life was good, hand gesture control is also well.

Nice Headphones

I love these headphones. I had problems at first. I downloaded the JBL Tour One app on my smartphone, as prompted. I watch movies and stream shows on my laptop. I could not get any volume out of the cans. The settings on the laptop kept flashing "pairing" and then "connected", then it would repeat on a loop. I read that this is very common with others. By deleting the app, I was able to connect them to my laptop. It has to do with Bluetooth. I don't get the fine tuning features that are on the app. The sound is great. Bottom line, $300.00 headphones for$99.00, refurbished? Yes.

Versatile, nice design, good performer

Purchased my JBL Tour One headphones from JB HiFi mainly for conference and phone calling at work, and occasionally listening to music or podcasts. With the latter they perform extremely well and I have really enjoyed the customisable Eq function on the easy to use iPhone App for both music and podcast. Conference and phone calling has been slightly less impressive, though. Listening quality is terrific, but on the receiving end you can sound a bit tinny and like you're calling from a room with fairly high sound reverberation when you're not. Perhaps there's an adjustment somewhere for this, and I expect most Bluetooth headphones without a dedicated microphone wand would be similar. Noise cancelling is OK, and while their NC performance falls a bit shot of my old ... MorePurchased my JBL Tour One headphones from JB HiFi mainly for conference and phone calling at work, and occasionally listening to music or podcasts. Perhaps there's an adjustment somewhere for this, and I expect most Bluetooth headphones without a dedicated microphone wand would be similar. Noise cancelling is OK, and while their NC performance falls a bit shot of my old Bose QC-15s, they're still acceptable, IMO. The product design is excellent. For me they are nice thing to wear with ample adjustments and the controls are easy to use, although the tactile quality of the on/off button could be a little better. They're mostly made from a matt plastic and synthetic leather but they look and feel high class, and certainly a significant step up over most other JBL headphones. The packaging was excellent, too, and ditto for the carry case and accessories. The weight is OK and I have found that my ears do warm up wearing them but I get that with any headphones I use - even the on-ear type. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone looking for great looking headphones with great listening sound quality, which can be customised to suit personal preference, and adequate conference/phone call capability.

premium product for budget price

if you can find these they're a great value at their lower price. high quality, meant to compete at the premium level. discontinued by jbl, so you get a premium product at budget level price.sound quality is amazing imo. rich tones and the lows are spot on.anc is superb. i can listen to music while my wife is watching a movie and not hear a peep. haven't tried it on the bus or train yet but i expect it will do great.build quality is very nice out of the box, but i'm concerned how well these will stand up too heavy use. the ear pads are comfortable, but very soft and feel fragile. and the coating is a nice matte, but it feels like it'll start rubbing off.a for style and comfort.
