When it got here the big charcoal worked good but it was so broken up there was only half a bag of hole brickets the rest of it was all crumbs and pieces I bought this bag to make charcoal snake only had enough bricets for one small shake rest broken like potato chip bag

Great briquettes! Was a lump guy for ever until I tried using these and now I’m hooked. Hot, clean and easy to control and hold temps. Using much less than I imagined.
Overall pretty good charcoal it does have a nice aroma and good flavor, the briquettes do burn hot however crumbles which I think doesn’t allow them to cook as long as some but definitely hotter than most.
One of the only two brands of briquettes I will buy. 4 stars, only because Jealous Devil is pricey and hard to find/buy locally. It burns super clean and hot though, and the briquettes work great in my Weber Smokey Mountain. Twice the size of other brands briquettes, so great for low n slow cooks that need extra fuel/burn time. Highly recommended as it’s made with hardwood and a pinch of vegetable starch, no dangerous mystery fillers, additives or sawdust.
i've been looking for a longer burning, hotter briquette than my usual Kingsford original. I tried both Franlkin and B&B multiple times and they both had an odd ammonia-ish smell when i opened the grill / smoker. and i didn't care for the flavors from either of them.these JD MAX briquettes have no odd smells or flavors and burn really, really well.I'm not sure (at roughly 2x the price of kingsford) that they will become my daily go to, but when i need that longer, hotter burn, this will definitely be my first choice.
