Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle Eau De Parfum Spray 50ml

I do like this but I'm not sure it is love - yet! The pear top note is pleasant but not my cup of tea. The dry down, though, I think is pretty and suitable for daily wear if sprayed lightly. Alternatively, with a heavier hand, it could be Christmas from a bottle which isn't necessarily a bad thing! I get quite a simple fruit pie with vanilla ice cream and a strong sense of, what seems to my nose, nutmeg. So why am I on the fence? Perhaps, unfairly, I'm comparing it to Narciso Musc Noir Rose which has become my signature scent. I know many who love Musc Noir Rose also like JPG LF and I wanted to compare the two. I received this today and I was really looking forward to it as my rotation of light day perfumes have seemed to all run out at the same time. The packaging is gorgeous, which gives an immediate strong impression. It also has a little ring stopper that you can put on and off in case you’re travelling and don’t want to bring the whole outer can that is part of the packaging - the stopper will make sure it doesn’t spray while in an overnight bag or anything so that’s a well thought out feature. I did one spray of this perfume and it could be smelled in the room for several hours after. It does have a nice floral scent but there’s a strong musk to it that definitely makes it an evening perfume, definitely not something that could be worn to work. And because a little goes a long way, the bottle will definitely last quite some time so very much worth the price. Overall, a lovely evening perfume great for your next date night!

Maybe I'm nuts, but once this has dried down it smells like Angel minus whatever is in Angel that reminds me of my heavy handed cologne spraying Father-in-law... So it's like a feminine, less obnoxious take on Angel. I like it, but I'm glad I only bought the 15 ml. It's warm and deep but without being masculine and it's sweet but without making the wearer feel nauseous or like they're reliving middle school. At first I thought it was a lot like Kayali Vanilla 28 but after testing them side by side it's definitely not. Vanilla 28 is more woody where Gaultier is deep, a little sultry. Like an olfactory lucky charm, I can smell each component to this scent as if they were charms on a bracelet. This fragrance is definitively “green” in scent. Imagine running through a grove of clovers, having just picked a basket’s worth of late summer pears and bergamots. The sky is bright and the air is crisp with the fresh olfactory notes of your colorful harvest. The wind from the soft white clouds above picks up a vanilla breeze from the nearby vanilla pods. This is the mental image I experience as I am transported by the narrative of this fragrance - my new lucky charm!

The fragrance is beautiful with hints of green pear, bergamot and vanilla. Wear this scent to add ambiance and allure to your evening. One spritz is perfect and long lasting. For a lighter scent I recommend walking through the mist instead of applying directly to your skin. La Belle would make a lovely, luxury gift for someone special in your life. Now I kind of hate it 😆 I figured out that certain perfumes, like this one, have a pear accord that bothers me. The pear and bergamot combo in the beginning is strong - definitely a beast mode type of fragrance. Unfortunately, the sharpness of the pear/leather note ruins the boozy element that I love in other perfumes (like TF Lost Cherry). I can detect the vanilla (which is what I loved about the sample) but the drydown varies for me - sometimes I get warm ambery-vanilla, and other times I get this spicy musky scent that I don’t care for. The juicy pear note is to die for. This becomes sweeter as it develops onto the skin and the middle notes. Then I feel like when it dries down again, it becomes really delightful, but in a completely different way from the opening. At dry down this has turned into a pure vanilla scent, but truly one of the most beautiful vanillas I have smelled in a while. A true vanilla pod. I always have to add this friendly reminder.. You can always spray more, but you can never spray less.

Later that evening I had a family gathering and night out to attend. I decided to wear LA BELLE. I received so many compliments not only from my family but from random people throughout the evening. I had a long evening. There was dancing, drinking, and sweating -lol-. The scent of my Parfum lasted the whole evening and the following day. I actually still smell it on my pillow. I LOVE that a couple sprays is so very long lasting. That’s when u know u are paying for quality. LA BELLE is pure sweetness, to me it's like you had on diors poison girl but then you went into a luxury sweets shop. Don't ask how it's sweet but sexy at the same time, no idea. This girl loves to look pretty, smell pretty - gets her day completed with a happy vibe. No one will stand in this sexy woman's way. It sprays a lot, 2 sprays spread around does the job. Maybe 3 unsure yet haven't tried it over a long period of time. Honestly wish I got the bigger bottle now. But maybe in the future but I don't think it's going anywhere and would love to compare to Intense one day. I blind bought this because I knew I liked pear. I liked sweet and I love whatever sexy note is in here. This is my jam.
