I received 100ml of Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu for free from @influenster provided I try out the product and give my honest opinion. The bottle comes in a red velvet box and the fragrance bottle itself is stunning. It’s simple yet classy and I love how the cap is designed to look like a crown with the gradient chrome finish on the bottom half of the bottle. This is a men’s fragrance but I find the scent to be unisex. The top notes are mirabelle plum, with chestnut as the middle note and the base note there is scandal wood. This is a warm spicy woody scent with a lasting longevity, only 1-2 sprays is needed and it stays 6-8 hours but even longer on clothes, though I found that the projection of this fragrance to be minimal. The initial spray is quite strong ... MoreI received 100ml of Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu for free from @influenster provided I try out the product and give my honest opinion. The initial spray is quite strong but it’s not over cloying, and it dries down to a powdery woody scent. There is a little bit of sweetness to this fragrance but it’s very subtle. This is a very nice scent for the fall and winter, though it can be worn for the summer as it’s not too overpowering or heavy. As the projection of this fragrance is low, as it’s more like a skin scent, I find this would be great for a date night.

*this review is in exchange for product which was received through INFLUENSTER* First, let’s start with the packaging and details. The box is a vibrant red, velvet like texture which feels so luxurious. The bottle is thought out with the JEAN Paul Gualtier etched into the crown, and on top of the pump which adds a subtle level of detail to the bottle design. The gold bottle design oozes royal aesthetics which is very fitting. The scent: First off, finding a well balanced men’s perfume is hard for me , as balancing the masculine without being overly sweet and fruity is not easy, but JPG has got it right. The initial spray is strong, and has a well balanced layering of different scents that are incredibly masculine. It’s woodsy, it’s spicy, slightly floral with a hint ... The scent is mature, and dark, and such a strong, masculine scent without being overly fruity or sweet. Overall, a must try, opulent perfume that is so seductive, and mysterious scent.

I received this item for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I had received the previous Scandal before and while I liked it didn’t become a daily driver. This one feels like a more refined version of that, with similar very sweet notes but with some more woody and nutty notes too. Like the previous “Scandal”, while it says it’s “for men”, I wouldn’t describe the scent as particularly masculine; this is not meant as a negative necessarily, but more that it’s a more unisex, bordering on a more feminine scent because of the aforementioned sweetness. It’s got decent lasting power which I appreciate, and a little goes a long way in terms of projection. I only needed one, two at most sprays to notice it. Again, while I think this is the better of the ... MoreI received this item for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Again, while I think this is the better of the two JPG Scandal’s I’ve tried, they are both very much not for me; however I think it’s something my wife could wear and I might actually enjoy it on her much more. Also, as we head into the colder months, this one feels less appropriate - it’s a bit more of a summery scent for me. Bottle design and overall packaging are outstanding though!

I believe this new fragrance flanker release from JPG is outstanding. Firstly, the bottle and box are eye-catching, even though I usually don't pay much attention to packaging. The cap is heavy and detailed, the bottle feels substantial and comfortable to hold, and the box looks luxurious with its red velvet material. As for the scent, it opens up with a sweet and gourmand aroma. The note breakdown only mentions three ingredients (Mirabelle plum, chestnut, and sandalwood), but to me, the sweetness smells like caramel with a hint of fruitiness. Despite the official note breakdown, I also detect a boozy aspect. Then, the chestnut note becomes more prominent, adding a cozy and warm feeling to the fragrance. I also sense some patchouli and other notes contributing to the warm and cozy vibe. This fragrance is best suited for fall and winter and can be worn during the day or at night, maybe not at work, but it is a great option for date nights.
