The difference between brands of canister fuel comes down to the fuel mix that they use. A bit of searching around the web suggests that Jetpower has a fuel mix of 80% iso-butane and 20% propane which is about as good as you’re going to get. This makes it the same as MSR IsoPro but quite a bit cheaper, and superior to several other brands that substitute in some n-butane for isobutane. Add in some discount from Altitude and it becomes a great deal that you can’t go wrong with.

It's Jetboil gas, what else do you need to know? The little cannisters are great for chucking in your webbing with a folding gas stove, water bottle and a cups canteen so you can brew on the go. Also fits nicely in the external pocket of my civvy pack so I can get a brew on without having to rat through the interior of the pack. Would caution that the baby cannisters seem a little unstable on the OG Jetboil, or it could be operator error (I don't use a stabiliser thingy), I would recommend the larger cannisters for that, but your experience may vary. As a final thought, the Jetboil branded gas seems to be more efficient than others on the market, particularly in really cold conditions

This jet boil is great for boiling up to two cups of water. It is loud though compared to other burners but gets the job done quick. Base support for the fuel canisters seem fragile and somewhat hard to lock the canister in it. Can fit only the small 100g canister only for compact storage. Overall great product.
I have used this brand canisters twice before with no issues. Unfortunately the one I brought on a 5 day backcountry trip from MEC had a valve failure where once I unscrewed the stove the valve did not work and all of the fuel sprayed out. Luckily it was summer and i was not relying on this to melt snow for water. 1/3 failure rate is a safety concern and I would not recommend this brand for backcountry use.
I bought this to go with Genesis Basecamp 2 Stove thinking that Jetboil's fuel would work with their stove, but the stove uses standard 1lb propane bottles and doesn't work with this fuel as the fittings are different. Likely good reasons about gas compatibility with burner type or some such but it was a bit disappointing to have to return this and go buy 1lb bottles. I'm sure the fuel works well, This is more a review of the unclear messaging / awareness of compatibility between the brand's products.
I love my jetboil stove. I have started buying them for friends and family as christmas gifts. Most people can find a use for them in their life even if they aren't big campers. These Jetboil brand cannisters seem to work better than the other brands I have tried. When using other brands, it works, but if it is super cold or if any moisture builds in your pack, they tend to have some trouble lighting. I have to use a match on those brands. I have never had that issue with Jetboil brand. I prefer to buy them if I am near an REI where they are sold. I only use the other ones in a pinch because they are sold in my small town.
I brought two of these small canisters on a seven day solo hike on the West Coast Trail last summer and, as it turns out, I almost could have gotten away with only bringing one.It was a seven day hike and I did four boils a day, 500 ml per boil on a Jetboil Flash (coffee, breakfast, soup, dinner). I got through breakfast on day six before exhausting the fuel in the first canister. I was really quite surprised by how many days I got out of the thing.I also like how the small Jetboil fuel canister fits inside the pot when packed. Very efficient use of space.If you own a Jetboil canister stove and are a solo backpacker like me, these small fuel canisters will work out great for your needs.

In one experience, a 3-person 8-day trip, we used only the JetBoil system and the small fuel can (with backups of course). General usage: Two or three 1-cup boils in the morning (coffee or Breakfast meal), for dinner 2-cups each for rehydrating meals plus two of us would have a post-dinner hot chocolate or cider. Higher altitudes (6k-12k feet on HST). First can lasted 7 days and had to go to our second canister (also the small one) on our walk-out day. We were surprised it went as long as it did. Not sure if others are having it heat water to a rolling boil, but perhaps they are? PS, I never cook meals, only ... MoreNot certain why others have had such poor experiences. Test your system before heading out! If I had trusted that "24 boils" on the side of the canister and taken that MightyMo, I would have been out of fuel three days into a seven-day trip.
