I've always like the flavor of Jim Beam whiskey, so I thought I'd give this one a go. Glad I did.Phenomenal flavor, and substantial body.Hints of vanilla and cinnamon.I'm no where near a Bourbon expert, but I know what I like. JL

I'm a simple fellow and complex Whiskey Bourbon man. This Bourbon is the only one you should get off the the shelf, in space or anywhere else. when the first boots touch martian soil, let's all toast with this FANTASTIC masterful Bourbon! Excellent finish and smooth body, perfect over ice, maybe even over space ice? you will not be disappointed!

this highly concentrated, sophisticated piece of American culture is just one of many reasons why I stick to Jim Beam. The value for your money is incredible. You can never find any other brand like Jim Beam. this beautiful mixture of high-quality ingredients is something you just have to try for yourself. Made with moral.

The fact that it tastes more like scotch than American whiskey may just be a personal preference, but that's fine. pleasantly surprised I like Johnnie Walker and Jack Daniels. extremely mellow and silky for the price.
Well... I've read JB Black is aged anywhere between 6 & 8 yrs. in white american oak barrels. But it is charcoal filtered. So there is a sweet, oaky, char with basic vanilla & carmel. With a hint of cinnamon. And at 86 proof it drink pretty good, though it "may" be a tad too weak for Beam & Coke ! BUT.... that's me.This is just fine neat. Taste very close to Ezra Brooks 90 proof which is also charcoal filtered and is also a good bourbon neat. Enjoy !!!
Just to clarify - this review is for the Extra Aged, No Aged Statement (NAS) version, NOT the original Double Aged, 8 Year Old bourbon. The Jim Beam distillery recently did away with the latter bourbon for reasons unknown (most likely to push their products out on the market quicker to meet ever-increasing demand). The nose for this bourbon is ostensibly classic Jim Beam, radiating gentle waves of vanilla and caramel with faint spices trailing not far behind. Although the body of this spirit is somewhat flat, it nonetheless harbors supple flavor notes of vanilla, toffee, black pepper, and sweet corn. The finish is smooth and slightly spicy, with a very minimal burn that's characteristic of an 86-proof bourbon.Although I would've liked to do a side-by-side ... MoreJust to clarify - this review is for the Extra Aged, No Aged Statement (NAS) version, NOT the original Double Aged, 8 Year Old bourbon. Suffice to say, Jim Beam Extra Aged won't bedazzle anyone, nor will it disappoint, as a solid sipping and mixing bourbon.
Actually bought my first JB Black at a military exchange. It was discounted so figured I’d give it a shot. Has the sweetness on the nose, caramel notes. Goes down smooth when neat & hits your chest. Less chest burn when left in freezer to chill. But the chest hit is so good, you want another pour. Extra aging of this product makes the difference. Perfect for bringing to backyard celebrations. Highly recommended bourbon! Do not hesitate on purchasing this product.
I usually buy the 1.75 L Jim Beam original and put it in a 3 gallon mini oak barrel. Probably 2 bottles per month. It doesn't take but a month or so to mellow it down. Drink and enjoy like you've never tasted whiskey before. I drink every flavor JB has to offer but again mostly the regular. . I received a bottle of the black as a gift and it tastes so water down I thought the first drink was a fluke and poured it out. I made a second drink and it was exactly the same. This whiskey tastes like it's watered down 50%. I Have drank at least 10 bottles of JB Black in the past 3 years or so and they never tasted like this. I know Jim Beam sold out to Another company and if this the kind of whiskey they are going to sell then I will be switching whiskey distilleries very ... MoreI usually buy the 1.75 L Jim Beam original and put it in a 3 gallon mini oak barrel. Always been a fan of jim beam and until today red stag was my top drink. Black lable just knocked it of it's perch. This is the smoothest bourbon with a great depth of flavour, sweet, caramel with oak undertones. This is one to sip long and slow, enjoy the flavours. Those extra years make so much difference. Iv'e just finished my first glass and already ordered another bottle. The only downside is i have never seen black lable in stores in the uk so have to buy it online.
Very sweet, lol. The first flavor that hit me was brown sugar. This might be what makes this such a great mixer. Following the brown sugar, I get notes of chestnuts, Applewood spice, bananas, and absolutely none of that is true, lol. After the brown sugar, it tastes like a rather drinkable whiskey. Too sweet for me to drink neat, but will remain a staple for mixing with Coke.
