After our old friend, Flocky the Christmas Tree snapped in two last year, we began the hunt for a replacement. The real test, however, was our Santa tree topper. Flocky was getting too old to throne Santa and it was looking more like a hostage situation instead of a place of honor. I am happy to report that Santa is gracefully presiding over this new tree.UPDATE: Reboxing - I despise undecorating. It's depressing and a reminder of our empty nest. Undecorating a broken tree (Flocky) was even worse so I was almost looking forward to the task at hand with our new tree. Each section popped off effortlessly and I appreciate the safety caps for each section but let me tell you the "holiday movie channel" moment I experienced today. I "caught" my big, burly retired firefighter turned trucker husband HUGGING the tree sections to (easily) fit them back into the shipping box and I swear I heard him say, "Thank you tree. We had a great Christmas". 🥹 I hope I remember this moment every year while undecorating.
