I left a review right after I got my 12w6v3. I originally had a R.F. Prime 500/1 pushing it but I have upgraded since then to the JL Audio XD600/1v2 and this thing hits so hard and sounds so good, that I now want a 12w7AE. Because I can't imagine how it could sound much better than this 1, yet everybody says they are in a league of their own. A League I hope to be in in the next couple years or so. My F150 Supercrew shakes the ground now with this bad boy. Great job JL Audio, you did a wonderful job.

I have one of these subs powered by a Rockford Fosgate t1500-1bd amp, which is barely at a 20% gain...and let me tell you, this thing blew my rearview mirror off in my 2013 BRZ. Since then, I have installed dynamat throughout the entire car, and plan on installing another one. These subs along with my Focal Elite K2 power series component system sound will sound like Heaven and Hell at the same time! I Highly recommend JL Audio subwoofers!

I just finished a system in an Audi S6 with a pair of 12W6V3 in a properly designed sealed box and without a doubt this is the best bass that I have ever heard in a car. I have owned many high end systems and have heard many others but nothing compares to the quality of bass that I am hearing from these woofers. Sure you can get more output with 15's or even a pair of W7's but there's something about the tone and speed of these W6's that is un-matched in my opinion. Driving them with 1000 watts of Audison each. System plays more than loud enough, hits hard but the thing that sets it apart from others is the sound quality which is the most important thing for me.
I have wanted JL w6 series for a long time. The price was always a big reason I did not. These are worth the price. The sound they put out is clean and deep. I have a PDX v9 on them, 550 watts is plenty of power for me. I bought a Rockford Fosgate power 1000 for them, but the PDX blows it away on control of subs. It was loud with the RF, but it didn't have the same sound quality. If you are reluctant because of the price don't let it be the reason you don't buy them. I am all about a good bargain, but you do get what you pay for. JL all the way! I want to buy a slaslash series amp to see how it compares to my PDX one day. The key to these subs is clean power. I did the DB drag racing and the world of sound in pittsburgh pennsylvania. I had 8 12" w6s at one time that hit 158.9 db and then put in 4 15" w6s in that hit 167.7 dbthe car i had was my show car a 1996 chevy beretta. The amps i used were 4 mtx 2300 i had 5 high powered batteries. JL audio w6s were the bast at that time then they did w7.the car i had i had alarm system on it and some idiot tried to still it and wracked it in a tree not more the 20 feet from my home. So jl is the best you can get. The car i had i got intoa very bad car wreck and all the stuff i had was steal where they had the car at. over $63000.00 of the audio stuff but when i got out of the hospital i found out how did it and beforei could even get them they lift pa. But i got all the money

I have always found Toyota car trunks to be challenging; as far as building tight sounding sub enclosures- this vehicle being no exception. I began with a pair of W6v2-D4 in my custom built sealed wedge (amazing). I had had for 7 years and the surrounds were beginning to fail, so I replaced the surrounds and retired them. I was eager to try the new model, with rubber surround. I purchased a new pair (10W6v3-D4) from SoundAdvice in Fort Lauderdale FL. The build quality of the 10W6v3 is exceptional, down to the box it comes in. I will get right to the point. I have owned subs from all three generations of the W6 model. Been wanting 1 of these subs ever since they discontinued the 13.5 in everything but the W7. Finally bought 1 yesterday and I must say, WOW! I simply couldn't be happier. This thing POUNDS, makes my eyes dance. I have a F150 Supercrew so I needed a 12in sub that would sound like 2 and boy this did not disappoint! I absolutely love this sub! I have a R.F. Prime R2 500/1 Monoblock pushing my 12w6v3-d4 and I can't get over how hard this thing hits and its still not broke all the way in yet.

That being said, somehow the voice coils are merged together (assume one broke and is now touching the other). How this happened is beyond me considering I am 46 years old, listen to country music, and don't even come close to pushing the sub to what it is supposedly capable of. I got the same response as the other reviewer, which boils down to well pay us $350, and we will rebuild it and send it back. Really? There is no way this is not a sub malfunction! I will say the people at customer service were very nice, and spent the time to talk with me. But in the end, it boils down to "do you have a receipt that shows 2 years or not". Regardless, I have a really pretty, heavy, useless sub that was built by you and failed long before it should have and at no fault of the install or the end user.
