JL Audio C1-650X 6.5" Coaxial Speakers
Coaxial Speaker System: 5.25-inch (130 mm) Woofer, 0.75-inch (19 mm) Aluminum Dome Tweeter C1 speakers deliver real substance and great audio performance in a format designed for easy fit behind factory grilles. C1 woofer drivers benefit from proprietary FEA modeling and JL Audio's expertise in low-frequency driver design. This knowledge is used to create speakers that can play loudly, while maintaining a smooth, dynamic, low distortion sound. At the core of the C1-525x is a proprietary, stamped, steel 5.25-inch (130 mm) frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround on the front, and a carefully engineered flat Conex spider at the top of the voice coil, to precisely control motion and prevent impact between the voice coil and the back plate. Tinsel leads are carefully routed and attached to the spider to prevent fatigue and buzzing. These are the same kinds of features and materials normally found on much more expensive loudspeakers. Equipped with a true, edge-driven, aluminum dome tweeter, C1 speakers stand further apart from others in its category with superior high-frequency clarity and definition. The tweeter’s design has inherently excellent off-axis response and high-frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and Ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, along with the superior strength of a neodymium magnet circuit. A true, 2nd order high-pass filter is employed to further enhance smoothness and improve power handling.

C1-650 - replaced speakers in the front doors of my 2012 Chevy Cruze that has the base stereo. How does the base stereo sound BEFORE new speakers? Well, um: fuzzy? All midrange and only the highest highs? If you have it past say, 15, on the volume scale after awhile it is hard for your ears to listen - really, in medical terms, really, it takes effort to strain to hear through the lack of fidelity. I went to a shop asking for an amplifier, thinking that was the problem. I thought, "oh, my Original Equipment (O.E.) radio was simmply not powerful enough to deliver decent sound. I was advised differently. I was told that the most effective AND economical thing would be to replace the door speakers with C1-650's. "All 4 speakers?" I asked, "front and rear?" "No" was the response. They explained how they could replace the back speakers of course, if I wanted and I insisted. BUT for my budget that would not be the best choice. Why? because front seat passengers hear much more from the front so much that the back speakers are sort of really just kind of filler with not so much clarity to the people in the front seat.I was told that the original equipment tweeters by the windshield were not very good and that in a perfect world I would perhaps want to replace them, but for now, with my $300 budget, these speakers would go a long way to making my ears happy. They were right. I can now play the music at 25 and a little more (Quite loud, conversation would = yelling) on the radio's volume scale and compared to Original Speakers it is clear as a bell, more fidelity, more dynamic range, I hear more instruments. Downright soothing if the music is soothing. Exciting if the music rocks. They lived up to the hype. Plus... it feels good buying MADE IN USA.So, I am very happy. My ears are happy. Here is the thing... if you look at the fine print of the speaker brochure you'll see that they REQUIRE only 11 Watts to operate. I'm told that the base Chevy Cruze has a tad more output watt power than that but, not enough power to push a lot of other brands (Including the JL Audio C2 series) of speakers because, like I am trying to say, these speakers mate niceely with the OE. And they sound so much better than O.E.OF COURSE we all get spoiled and want more more more better better better. Like I was told... "You could get some matching tweeters then of course a sub woofer, and then go on to replace the head unit..... "But simply having these two speakers installed has improved the sound so much that doing more can wait til I have cash in hand and the rent is already paid!

I bought a base model Micra and discovered it didn't have rear speakers. When looking to add a couple in the rear doors and replace the ones in the front doors, I wanted speakers that could be powered by the factory head unit and would be reasonably loud and clear. I picked up two pairs of these on sale and couldn't be happier (after searching multiple online sources, Visions had the best price and I was able to pick them up later the same day from a local store). They don't distort at high volumes and the midrange and highs are clean. These speakers definitely don't provide a great deal of low end bass but, even before installing a sub, the sound quality had improved a lot compared to the factory speakers. Great speakers they sound very clear, at first they didn’t have enough volume with my factory head unit, I believe there was not enough wattage going to the speakers but once I got an aftermarket head unit they just came to life. Loud and clear.

I am honestly very disappointed with these speakers and plan to return them. I installed this in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee hoping to improve over the stock speakers that are over 20 years old but I noticed no improvement in quality and these JL speakers make crackling noises at 75% volume while my stock speakers didn't at 85%.
Great value set of speakers, used these for rear doors on my Audi rs4. I have top end jl audio c5 up front but wanted something to add a little rear fill for rear passengers. Speakers sound excellent, build quality is really good. Also using coax means I dont have a component tweeter in its standard location high up in the door so dont get too much treble in my ear from the rear. For what I paid 62 these are a bargain.
I have always been a JL fan. There products are a little pricey. But when you buy there products and find out why. The price is very small compared to the quality. These speakers sound awesome. I couldn't have made a better choice. JL Audio is the only brand I will buy from here on out. No reason to waist time experimenting with others brand. The choice is very clear. With these speakers you can hear the music very clear at high volume. So happy.
I replaced my buzzing front door speakers with this brand. The fit was weird as the provided rings didn't quite fit the factory door holes. I ended up getting the ring to sit, but they are not sealed properly, so the bass is probably lacking, but I'm forty-three with kids who just want to pick songs on the way to school so my needs don't invole the windows rattling.
I needed to desperately replace my factory speakers and was overjoyed to see these at such a fair price----out with the old and in with these. After I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood I gave these some pressure to see what they would do and I was impressed with these. I listen to almost every kind of music and these can handle any style of music you want to feed them. If you need more bottom get a sub but these will handle quite a bit of volume. If you haven't tried JL I say for the price you are getting a really good speaker.
Probably the best thin line subwoofer on the market and even better than it's bigger brother, the 13TW5v2! This 12TW3 doesn't sound like a thin subwoofer nor does it have xmax limitations which I noticed on the TW5. Buy it you won't regret it particularly if you don't want to give up your entire boot to bass!
I ordered speakers for my daughter's car on December 14 thinking I might get them by Christmas(I'm on Vancouver Island),speakers arrived before Christmas! I was very happy and my daughter was even happier! THANKS VISIONS. I still have to install them for her but have no doubt they'll be awesome being JL audio
