I added in the photos my before and after I have pretty thick hair so I should’ve got a second box, but I actually just ordered the second box and I will redo my review and add more pictures, but the coverage is amazing. The application is so clean. I have never had such a clean application in my life before with other products I would drip it, even if I was trying to be so careful, the result was beautiful it’s permanent so it shouldn’t fade but sometimes in the beginning it comes out a little bit darker and they have a beautiful shade range. I definitely recommend trying this foam . It’s a little bit more expensive but it’s definitely worth your money. also a little pro tip is to put Vaseline on your ears and forehead and shoulders and you won’t get any dye on ... And finally, a dark brown red that works!
After trying both L’Oréal and Garnier, I’m happy to finally have found a red-brown shade that works for me! I tried the 4R Dark Red Brown color and am very happy overall. I was scared about trying the foam but turns out it was very easy to apply and doesn’t leak or drip. I was also scared that the color wouldn’t distribute evenly, but again it was easier than expected and the final result is amazing. My natural level 3 wavy/curly dark brown hair didn’t feel as dry as it does after other brands. The color is truly a rich dark brown with red highlights. It did cover my grays, however the grays didn’t get quite as dark as the box shows. This doesn’t bother me though as I don’t have many and I like that it actually adds a bit of dimension this way. Beauitful color, but drying!
Likes: I bought the Dark Cool Espresso Brown (4Pbn), and while it didn’t come out as cool-toned on my hair as I thought it would, it’s still a really beautiful, rich color. I have a couple grays towards the front of my head, and it covered those completely. Dislikes: the foam takes a bit of work to really saturate the hair, and I was definitely worried about unevenness because of that. I have long, thicker hair and probably could’ve gotten away with one box, but I got two to ensure my hair was completely saturated. It is very, very drying when applied to your hair; I haven’t experienced that with other hair dyes, so something to keep in mind! The provided conditioner also left a waxy residue. All in all, I think the color results make it worth it, but I will be ... Cutting costs
This is my favorite hair dye, I’ve been using it since it first came out. I always stock up when they go on sale and my stash finally ran out so I had to buy some new boxes. This is such a nit picky thing to complain about, but this dye used to come with tight, form fitting black gloves. This made sense since the foam is harder to hold in your hand than regular gel dyes, so you really dont want your gloves slipping and flopping around on your hand when you are essentially holding bubbles. When I opened my new box today I realized that they got rid of the black gloves and now give you the standard white plastic gloves that are 4 sizes too big to fit your hand. I was disappointed but went on with it anyway. Let’s just say the gloves kept slipping off my hand and ... MoreThis is my favorite hair dye, I’ve been using it since it first came out. I was disappointed but went on with it anyway. Let’s just say the gloves kept slipping off my hand and flopping around, I was basically just using the palm part of the glove to apply the dye there at the end. I was honestly about to take the gloves off and just use my bare hands. It was 10x messier than I’ve ever gotten using this dye before. Like I said, it’s my favorite dye and it’s a minor complaint so I will keep buying it, it’s just annoying that it likely cost them pennies (at best) to supply the higher quality gloves but they decided to skimp on that but raise the price of the dye $2.... Disappointed
Tried this (blonde 9N) for the first time as my usual colour (Olia product) was out of stock. Thought I’d give it a go as the foam sounded good. I followed instructions to the letter and although when you squeeze the bottle the foam did come out, it did not stay as a foam on my hair? I soaked the hair all over and left for 30 mins as instructed. My hair is down to my shoulder blades. Although when washed off it did cover the grey, I was disappointed with the smell, very strong, and also the colour. It is not a light blonde at all. I usually use Olia 10.1 and this was a lot darker and lacked the vibrant shine and tones Olia gives me. It has an ash tone to it. My hair looks very dull. Can’t wait to re colour it in a few weeks with my usual colour. I’m wearing my ... MoreTried this (blonde 9N) for the first time as my usual colour (Olia product) was out of stock. Don't bother
I have never used this hair dye before and chose to purchase it as it was the closest colour that i normally have in the salon and when reading the product description it sounded wonderful . Firsty the foam doesn't really foam and the foam and the colour seperated in the bottle, so all the colour seemed to have sunk to the bottom. The bottom itself was a bit awkward to use also. I left it on as per instructions and had used all the contents ( I have fine shoulder length hair), unfortunately after rinsing out I still had grey bits that it hadn't covered. I washed my hair again about 3 days later and all the colour has now gone and I'm back to square one again. The product description was definitely hyped and misleading. Definitely will not be purchasing again... Show more

I didnt receive this one, but 2nd order
Recd replacement dye in a burgundy brown color as original brown was not shipped.Pros: ease of instructions, complete kit w great conditioner and an easy to use foam dye. 1st time I didnt dye the bathroom counter too! Gave full coverage including greys.Cons: Very expensive, 2.5 times the cost of prior dye. Price needs tobe lower or provide coupons. ( the color comes in a regular tube, you attach to a pump which changes it to a foam)The color was flat, there was no shine or gloss to hair. Even though I changey hair color, didnt get a single comment from friends or family., good or bad.Unrenarkable?... Show more

Insane Hair Loss, Fades Quickly, Pretty Color Though
There are some pros and cons to this product. I have used John Frieda hair dye years ago and I’ve always had a good experience. The foam application was super simple, not as much color bleeding during rinsing as with typical box dyes, no staining. Awesome… except that when I was rinsing the color out, clumps of hair began falling down to the shower floor. It was something I hadn’t experienced prior and it was frightening. I’m not talking about typical hair fallout during shampooing, cause everyone gets that. Actual large clumps began to fall on their own just from the water coming down on my head. Due to the amount of hair lost during the rinse I will never use this product again. It was unnatural. My hair feels a lot thinner on the top after using this dye. ... Unfortunate because the color was gorgeous, however not long lasting as even after one wash with sulfate free and color safe shampoo I can see my grays again and the color has faded. I would not recommend this product to anyone and will never use again.... Show more

NOT RECOMMENDED
I never leave product reviews but I would recommend using any other available hair dye brand than this. I read the negative reviews but decided to still give this a try due to the positive reviews that were also present and I honestly regret using this product. The color is mediocre and is not worth the damage. My hair was very healthy (routine cuts, minimal heat, and had not dyed in 12 months) and this product is incredibly damaging despite me not leaving it on for the full 30 minutes. My hair is dry, I’ve lost my curl/wave pattern due to damage, and am shedding an excess amount of hair both in and out of the shower like other reviews have mentioned. Even after using deep conditioning treatments and hair oils to try to bring moisture back to my hair my hair is ... Super easy, great color
This was so easy to apply that I was convinced I was doing something wrong or that it couldn’t possibly work. But it did! Once my hair dried, it was the perfect color. I’m so happy with this dye! I’ve been dying my hair with the (super cheap) traditional hair dye, which was always such a pain to do by myself & inevitably would make a huge mess. For a while I started getting my hair dyed at a salon, but that was just so expensive, & the last time I did it, the dye lasted all of 3 months before being noticeably faded & I just couldn’t justify that kind of expense anymore. So then I made my sister help me with the box dye again, but I don’t think she was all that enthused, & it was still such a pain that I’d just dye my hair when the roots were REALLY grown out. This foam dye was so easy that I can actually keep up with dying my hair, & cheap enough that I don’t feel guilty. I basically applied it like you would shampoo, I made sure to apply extra liberally to areas like my temple and crown to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. I have hair that is slightly past my shoulders, & medium thickness, & I felt like I had covered all of my hair with just half a bottle. I kept applying the rest of the bottle because that’s what the instructions said & it would go to waste anyways & I didn’t want to accidentally miss a spot, but I think it would’ve been fine if I’d stopped. My hair felt super soft afterwards, so no worries about it damaging my hair. I ended up using the entire bottle of conditioner provided, so I don’t have that to continue to use once a week, but I’m not too concerned. This turned out to be a very long review, but I’m just so excited about how easy it was to apply, how well the color turned out, & all for such a reasonable price!... Show more
