Awful smell when tin opened, lots of bones and something that resembled an eye. Was grossed out, had to bin it and double check I hadnt bought cat food by mistake! Cant understand the good reviews, best sticking to fresh salmon.

I love tinned salmon but have had to resort to buying small tins which are, for some reason, in straight sided tins which are much easier to open. Yes I’ve tried every type of can opener including a JL electric one.

I notice that a few previous reviewers are having a bit of trouble opening these cans - no such problem with my tin opener. Im eating more tinned salmon now in sandwiches, as opposed to tinned tuna, because of the superior health benefits. This high quality product keeps for a long time and is delicious in brown bread sandwiches - especially when mixed with a little seafood sauce and black pepper.

This tinned Salmon is the best. Been eating it for years. It’s extremely healthy as it still has the tiny bones in it unlike fresh salmon so is much healthier for you.
I always have a tin of this in my cupboard . Very useful to make a sandwich at lunch time as I have my main meal in the evening. I had vinegar to the salmon and add cucumber to make a delicious and filling sandwich. Unfortunately it is very expensive at the moment.
I was sent this for review. It's probably 40 years since I had tinned salmon, as a teenager, and my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. The salmon was moist and tasty, with no bones, and only small traces of skin. It made a very nice sandwich with cucumber - very '70s. I was surprised to see the price, for a relatively small tin.
There were some batches which had the wrong label on, compared with the webpage copy text. Skinless and Boneless is now not available, so we have to get used to eating this, if we want this type of snack. This Red Salmon has been my favourite for years because I am not a good cook; I have to eat it like it is with toasted bread or, extravagantly: mashed potato. . One other reviewer said she put it down the sink because she didn't like the bones and the skin etc., it is best to complain to Ocado and they'll give you your money back, when it isn't as advertised; don't throw the item away without taking a photo first. . I was offered this product to review. It is a very small tin for the price, but is wild red salmon & was succulent & really tasty. The tin contained a reasonable proportion of meaty red salmon, but there was also quite a lot of skin & bones, which although I don't love ,is the bit where the calcium is I guess, so I did eat it all. Not too much water to drain away, so good value for weight.
This is just lovely. For those shying away from a bit of skin and bone, just try giving it all a good mix and do not drain the liquid -thats where all the flavour comes from. The bones disintegrate when mixed up as does the skin. Perfect in a sandwich.
I was given this for free in return for a review. I would never have bought this tiny tin of salmon because of the very high price per 100g, but somehow expected it to be better than other tins of salmon because of the price. However, it's just the same as the cheapest, i.e. beside the actual salmon there is also soft bones and some skin - and the taste is the regular taste of tinned salmon (and there is no taste difference between pink and red, by the way). I can't help wondering why anyone would buy such a small tin, with just enough salmon for a single sandwich or very small salmon sallad or other dish. For those who are hooked on the brand, Ocado sells a John West red salmon tin that is more than twice as large for only 50p more, and a John West pink salmon tin ... MoreI was given this for free in return for a review.
