It provides a fantastic hold throughout the day without the hair looking oily or wet. I spread the paste evenly on my palms, run it through damp hair and style it up. I generally don’t need to but I’ve found it to be easily reworkable should you need to readjust or restyle your hair during the day. This is the hair product I’ve been looking for. My hair is short and choppy and I like to have plenty of texture and enough separation without clumping. I also want a proper matt finish and I want to be able to rework it if I need to without my hair going fluffy. I also want to be able to wash the product out without having to buy a special shampoo. This product does all that plus it comes in a cool looking tin. Recommended.

It’s a little sticky type consistency but a small amount can cover a big area and gives a good hold to my beard. It’s doesn’t give the same result as wax or the hold but it’s still fairly decent and keeps the hold all day long. It doesn’t add shine, just a plain Matt finish and a subtle fragrance. All in all if u dislike using wax this is the product to use, I’ll surely recommend after testing it for a good amount of time.

I wear my hair messy and it's quite fine and falls flat very quickly so I do need to wear some hair products to try keep it where it is styled.It's a very rich feeling paste, slightly sticky which helps to give the hold and its easily applied without leaving residue.Although it didn't hold my hair for the day , which no products ever have with the hair type I have it did hold it for a good few hours.I have a few hair products made by the brand and this is another that preforms well.
I love the branding of this. It is quite retro but very distinctive, something that would appeal to me whilst shopping.It did take me a few goes to get the hang of using it but I'm glad I persevered. Applied thinly, it dries pretty quickly and doesn't have a wet look or a white paste look.My hair was held in place all day, my son also uses it on his, he has very thick hair and worked equally as well. He actually preferred this to his normal brand.Small tin but it will last a long time.Smells nice and whilst washing my hair in the shower, it washes off well using shampoo.Would recommend.

I received No. 1 Matt Paste and thought I’d give it a try. Best way to test is to go clubbing for the ‘sweat test’ By 2am my hair hadn’t moved an inch and still (in my opinion) looked good. My hair didn’t feel dry which I kind of expected and with a damp hand, could easily be manipulated into another hairstyle. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. The only negative which might be just me was it could’ve smelt better. It’s not unpleasant, it’s just not nice. If you want a product that works then I would give this a try. If you have a partner that likes smelling your hair, then they will be disappointed. This is how I justify my 4 stars. Product works, it just needs a small tweak for me.
My hair now looks amazing. This paste means I can copy my favourite celebrity hair (David Beckham). I now feel like I can even take a free kick as well as him with my stunning new look!! Although I probably can’t! Maybe one day! My wife to be fancies me even more. So happy happy happy days
Tried this as an alternative to the Matte Clay and whilst the hold is decent, I don't feel it gives the same texture and rough look as the Matte Clay product does.It's down to personal preference as this product would be great for people who want a slicker look.Products are generally great from this range and the value is unmatched.

The product itself was actually a lot more greasy than I anticipated considering it was a paste, however, it did have a nice consistency, although in some parts was a little grainy, it smelt very fresh which is something I myself normally look for in hair products. As the product was greasier than I thought, it did sometimes make it difficult when using at the beginning when working out how much to use! I kept finding if you put too much in, you couldn't really rework it to get the desired style, I had to wash the product out and start again.
