Johnson and Johnson Powder is a classic product that probably won't garnish me much reading traction. This makes Zea mays (corn) starch an efficacious replacement in body/baby dusting and topical powders, cream powder, lotions, skin and hair masks, loose and compact makeup and bath salts. The next listed ingredient is Tricalcium Phosphate. This is not a good option for people with kidney disease. When a person has kidney disease, their kidneys are unable to remove phosphorus effectively. This is important because high levels of phosphorus can affect the levels of calcium in the body, sometimes, making bones brittle and weak. Tricalcium phosphate is used in powdered spices as an anticaking agent, e.g. to prevent table salt from caking. The calcium phosphates have been assigned European food additive number E341. In some cases it can be irritating to the skin, cause irritation in the respiratory system leading to more urgent health concerns. It is Listed in the Hazardous Chemical Database. This ingredient is the touted ingredient in many of the talc-free body powders. Ingredient #3 is fragrance. It is not natural-derived ingredient meaning it is synthetic. I could not find anything on thier site to expound on the ingredient. Ingredient #4 is aloe barbadens leaf extract. The extract coming from the juice containing leaves of the Aloe vera plant. It's usually a hydroglycolic extract (though oil extract for the lipid parts also exists) that has similar moisturizing, emollient and anti-inflammatory properties as the juice itself. Last listed ingredient is Tocopheryl Acetate. Tocopheryl acetate is a specific type of vitamin E, in a class of organic chemical compounds known as tocopherols. These compounds are considered fat-soluble antioxidants, but are also said to have many other functions in the body. Tocopheryl acetate is “A natural tocopherol and one of the most potent antioxidant tocopherols,” according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s publication, “PubChem.” The antioxidants in vitamin E are known to protect the cell from damage that naturally occurs from free radicals. These free radicals are formed in the body during normal processes (such as energy production). Other free radicals come from various sources, like radiation from X-rays, air pollution, smoking, and industrial chemicals. So, vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate) goes to work acting as an antioxidant to protect the cells and DNA, promoting cellular health. Because vitamin E is fat-soluble, this means that it can stop the production of free radicals formed when the body breaks down fat for energy. I am not bad-mouthing the product. I am raising awareness to the ingredients so individuals may make the conscious and educated decision to continue to use it. I will be discontinuing the use of this product personally. I used this product for several years and I feel there are safe choices out there. I would suggest what I freshly switched to. It is a bit more pricey but for the health conscience people, it is worth it. EraOrganics talc free baby powder is what I have used since discovering the harmful ingredients in Johnson and Johnson products.

Myself, mum and daughter have always used Johnson’s talc for the past 30 years every single day. The last few weeks we have had difficulty getting the original version so in the end we got this one. It is absolutely dreadful, the smooth and silky texture has gone it now feels like cheap powder, the fragrance has gone WHY?? Unless this reverts back to the original formula we will definitely NOT be buying this again. This is such a shame after all these years in our generation.

Such a subtle scent that you can’t miss as their baby powder scent. Lovely soft and fine powder that goes on smoothly with no caking build-up. Twist lid to open and close. Cannot beat this for better value than “adult talcs”. Absorbs oils and made from natural ingredients.I’m buying an empty talc storage box with “poof” and will just refill with this. Love it. Not just good for smooth baby bottoms!

I have been using Johnson's baby powder for 53 years now on myself and my two children when they were young. Until now, I would never use any other brand. However, this new cornstarch product is nothing like the original! The smell is unpleasant and it has a strange texture on the skin, leaving my hands feeling very dry when I've applied it. It no longer has the fresh, soft and clean feeling that it once had when applied. Sadly, I will no longer choose this product.
The only powder I am using since my child was born is Johnsons baby powder. Persistent great quality and quantity is the thing that I like the most when choosing a product. My baby has extremely sensitive skin so I am very cautious when choosing cosmetic products for him. Johnson's baby powder smells lovely is gentle on sensitive skin, absorbs the moisture from the skin and lives the skin so smooth. Everytime when I am changing his nappy I apply gently on his nappy area tap with my fingers and thats it. No more redness or nappy rush. Thank you very much fir this beautiful product .
I love Johnson's baby powder. This is a smooth powder that absorbs quickly and easily on to baby's skin, leaving baby feelings soft. I love the 'baby smell' of this powder and it reminds me of my childhood. I use this on my little one after baths and nappy changes and it's great for preventing sores. The powder is so gentle and can be used on baby aswell as all the family. A trusted brand and great product. Highly recommend.
I wasn’t sure at first because the smell of the powder was different to previous Johnson’s baby powder however the smell is pleasant so it didn’t take long to get over that. The powder spills out fast and the particles make a sound as it’s smoothed across the skin leaving a satin soft finish which sits on top of the skin. The product claims to absorb 2x more moisture which I would agree that it’s very good at absorbing water as I use it mostly after bath time and sometimes after really wet wet wipes. Baby’s skin has been lovely with this product and although I miss the original smell of the powder this one does the job better and has hasn’t had any sore rubs or creases or crazy powder clouds when the bottle is squeezed.
You can’t deny that familiar smell of Johnson’s baby products! It reminds me of the smell of a new born babies head. The one and only problem I had with this product was how fast it comes out! The first time I used it I absolutely covered my little one in it! He obviously thought it was hilarious! The holes on the top need to be slightly smaller. But other than that the product is wonderful!
