Jordan 3 Retro Stealth

(3 reviews)

Shades of grey seem to always be popular on Jordan retros and the Air Jordan 3 Retro “Stealth” continued that trend in 2011. While not an original colorway and not the typical leather upper, the upper of the Stealth Jordan 3 was wrapped in a soft nubuck finish that gave it a very premium feel. While the traditional placement of Elephant Print was there, a closer look reveals that Elephant Print was also used for the panel underneath the lace eyelets. Another unique aspect of the Stealth Jordan 3 Retro was the midsole. While the traditional colorways feature a two-tone design, the Stealth AJ3 midsole is entirely black, including the Air unit. A white outsole and white laces added some contrast to complete the new colorway. The “Stealth” Air Jordan 3 (officiall colors of Stealth/Varsity Red-Light Graphite-Black) might not be an original colorway but it definitely comes across as a respectful tribute to the iconic colorways that Tinker Hatfield and Nike created for Michael Jordan back in 1988. With modern Jordan retro colorways it’s less and less about basketball players wearing them on court and more about the celebs seen rocking them. The Jordan 3 Retro “Stealth” moved the needle thanks to celebs like DJ Khaled, Big Boi of Outkast, Wale and more wearing the modest colorway when it released.
