I gave these a shot because I've been gravitating toward wider, more cargo style pants and seeing them well styled lately. I'm a slim guy and ordered the medium size, standard fit M J ESS STMT CHICAGO PANT.Some pros from me:- I love the button plus the draw string to keep them secure around the waist, so no need for a belt- They feel well made with any string/tie elements durable and not at risk of over-wearing or snapping- Love the drawstring ties at the ankles. Gives the pants much more versatility in pairing with the shoes in my closet (I tend to gravitate toward simple, low profile sneakers). The ability to cinch the pant legs at the angles is why I originally wanted to give this style of pant a shot in the first place.- Large, secure pocket spaces. Plenty of room to store whatever you might be carrying. Also like that the thigh cargo pockets are angled at ~45 degrees--giving the pants a more modern, unique profile than standard cargo pants. Some cons:- Personal preference--but the cut of the pant, particularly when the ankles aren't cinched at the bottom, are wider than I tend to gravitate toward. But as I mentioned--I'm a slim guy so imagine this cut is inline with what others might prefer.- The material feels fairly standard and similar to what you'd seen in a chino pant. I was hoping for something maybe a bit more lightweight and breathable to match the sort of athletic look of the overall pant. Full disclosure--I just moved to Los Angeles so feel I might have only a few days to comfortably wear these out given the heat and weight of the material.- Would have appreciated some elasticity from the waist draw strings. The ankle draw strings--while helpful and well made--would also be easier to use in my opinion if it utilized a plastic cord lock, versus two strings needing to be tight together to secure the bottom of the pant leg.The overall look and feel--for me--is a durable cargo pant with a more athletic look and options to wear different ways, thanks to the ability to cinch the ankles. I'd pair with some simple sneakers and a sweatshirt/hooded sweatshirt for cooler fall days.

I received the MJ Chicago pant to review via the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The material of the pants is durable and very versatile. However, I was not a fan of the style personally, the fit was too baggy and relaxed and I found it unflattering. The pants have a nice water resistant material which would make them perfect for outdoor walks etc. The pant have several pockets which are perfect for thing like your keys or phone. Overall, the material is durable but the style is very specific and may not please everyone.

Very versatile pant. Can be dressed up or casual for any event. The elastic waistband give comfort for all day wear. Also the adjustability around the ankle in a cool feature because you can have the regular straight fit or a scrunched jogger type fit which is great ! The material is very comfortable. The pockets add for an extra modern style. Love them all the way around

I really like what they did with the side pockets. These are great but there are 2 things that make it so I can't give it full mark.1/ The pockets are on the smaller side. Part of the reason I wear cargo pants is for the cargo part...2/ These pants don't have belt loops. Only a drawstring that's on the inside. I actually really dislike this because it makes adjusting them a pain in my opinion. I'd much rather be able to put a belt on, or have strings on the outside of the waist.Maybe runs slightly big.
These pants are super high quality and could be worn in any number of circumstances. The fabric is durable and looks nice. The pockets are nice and flat and don’t look like cargo pants, which I was afraid of. The pants fit a little snug on me in the waist. This was disappointing since I got the biggest size available. The hey have very little give which I love as far as quality, but dislike as far as fit! I would absolutely get these again if they had one size up for me. I think they will last for a very long time and be used often.
These pants fall with just the weight of a wallet and cell phone. Pockets are also very small and not deep. My iPhone pro max almost sticks out. I am returning them as it is not worth losing my phone or anything else. Legs are so restricted from simple movement just like bending knees when getting in the car.
I am really enjoying these pants, they are so lightweight and comfortable. These are so roomy and having the cargo pockets are my most favorite feature of these pants. The design is perfect and I would not change anything about them. Seems true to size and the fabric seems to be very well made and durable. Color is vibrant and seems to wash well with no shrinkage or fading. Overall I am very happy with these pants and highly recommend.
I love that the pants are comfortable around the waste and a little stretchy. The material feels soft and not scratchy even though there are so many pockets. I appreciate the pockets because I am a teacher and need places to hold my materials. The design is easy to use, however since it's the summer, I only have been using it in an air conditioned building. The height of the pants is just right for me and I like that it's not too tight. The only thing I find annoying is that it catches fur like crazy. I have two cats, so whenever they rub against it, the pants become fur pants. I have to use a lint roller to take majority of the fur, but it's incredibly sticky. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.
If you want to trend brand with everything you do from casual, work, religion, and going out. Then these are the pants for you! Down right professional casual, with a sleek look, and comes in a color (we got the dark black) that matches any top. Even looks good with a beater on, can’t beat these pants. except for the fact that the brand logo we all enjoy and have long loved is not that noticeable on these and is not distinctive, so makes these come off as any other pants. And we all know that we pay for the brand logo so we should be able to see the logo.
Cargo pants. They have been out of style for the last decade or so. So why not try to make a comeback with cargo pants, only take away everything about them that worked to begin with? That’s what they have done here. They moved the pocket to end directly on your kneecap. You know, the place where a super thick seam will be the most uncomfortable spot ever. Then they turned the pocket to a 45 degree angle, ensuring that you can’t actually use the pocket which makes them uncomfortable to begin with. The materials feel durable. They feel like a quality pant, but the material doesn’t match the supposed utility. They have pockets, so you could equate these to work pants. The material is far too thick for anything athletic, but then they have ties around the ankles, suggesting these could be used for jogging or hiking, but then we go back to the materials of being thick, so neither of those would work.I am a fairly athletic shaped man with muscular legs and they were baggy in all of the wrong places. I cannot think of a body type these would look pleasant on.Maybe I’m not fashion forward enough, but I can’t see these pants being for anyone other than the super trendy and being able to pull off their own look.
