Bought this Monday for a camping trip on weekend its going back today.Reading the negative comments my gut told me not to buy, but thought I’d give it a go.tested it when i got home being careful to follow the manufactures recommendations.It didn’t start smoking or explode Just didn’t work, I got a dribble at best.Should have listened to my gut and the recommendation of most buyers.It will not be going camping.I actually think Bunnings should not stock it.I’m happy for those who got a good one I did not.I do not recommend this product

We bought this product when all the rain was inundating our back alfresco area and the drains couldn’t cope. It was an absolute lifesaver and saved us from having the water lap into our lounge room. I advise any homeowner to have one of these for blocked drains in the bathroom or kitchen etc. We ran ours until we burnt it out and then, for the price, went and bought another one. Absolutely absolutely well worth it. You can use garden hose (or plastic tubing from Bunnings) either end but you’ll also need the metal hose clamp both sides to keep hose on. Great product.

Self priming to 3 metres? This unit would not pump out of a 3.5 metre tank, fully primed using a well powered Milwaukee drill (plus it is not clear how you would self prime a pump that clearly states 'never run dry').Pumping height of 15 metres is just outright dishonesty. It may have some value pumping water out of shallow puddles but for anything more than that don't waste your time.

Total rubbish . I tried working this in a jug of water in about a 2 inch head wouldnt suck , drill connection fine , totally primped with water, no good, placed unit totally underwater in a bowl.slight output as soon as tried to work about 3'' above bowl failed. Dismantled cap no visible signs why it wouldnt work, tried again No Go. Definitely rubbish if it works its a lottery air may be air sucking in from somewhere bad engineering total waste of money BEWARE
I purchased the pump today to drain a flooded stormwater pit. Pretesting the pump, I found that even when fully primed it would cease delivery if the pump was more than 150mm above the water level. Similarly, it would only self prime if the pump was lifting the water no more than 150mm (ie 1/20th of the specification max self-priming height).The application needed a capacity to lift about 550mm.Guess I’ll just have to find where I stored my old mini Venturi pump.
Bought today Package claims it is selling-priming to 3 metres! Tried it with 450mm suction and 1 metre outlet 1/2 hose as recommended.Pumping water which it would not do,Even level in the sink unless suction was primed it would not pump at all. When pre-primed it pumped a dribble. Would take days to pump out my 20 litre AdBlue from its container and I doubt it would pump the 1 metre from floor to car tank.A waste of money. JUNK!!! 18Feb22
Bought today to drain some pier holes.Wasn't expecting much for 20 dollars but it worked fine. I bought some clear hose also as I wanted to see if it was getting water in.Read some other reviews first and all I can say is if you can't get this to work you should hand in your man card.I filled up the inlet hose with water first I think this helps alot.Had about a foot of water and done three holes in about 15 minutes or so.
I bought this to clean out silt from a garden pond. As other's have said it isn't self priming more than 6 inches above the water line. It also couldn't pull the skin off a custard. It was failing to suck in free-floating particulates in the water. Yes it moves water. Yes if you need to move something upwards and you take time to prime the inlet it may work for you. It's a one time use buy kind of thing, otherwise buy a proper pumping solution. For everything else, this is less effective than just sucking on the hose and making a normal siphon.
Was looking for a cheap pump solution for emptying a blind drain and did not require much head. I was dubious of this item because of some of the reviews here but it was cheap at $20 so thought it was worth a try. I also took the advice of connecting it to clear hose rather than garden hose so I could see what was going on (recommend this for at least the feed side). I kept the feed side short at approx 0.6m so I could charge it easily and maintain the charge when turning the drill on. At first it did not work so I reversed the drill direction and it then worked fine. The tip here is put your glasses on so you see the flow direction arrows on the pump then it will work with the drill in the clockwise direction.

Upon checking the drill manual it's only designed to be run flat out with a load for 3 mins. So i can pump 3 buckets of water before letting the drill cool down. Not the pump's fault, but also far less than ideal.Sometimes I could get it to self prime at 2 meters high and at other times it wouldn't prime 0.5 meters (usually when dry). I found if it doesn't prime within 10 to 20 seconds it starts melting the pump, letting off smoke out of the outlet pipe and then won't prime anymore unless it's very close to in line with the water level.
