I struggled with making sugar cookies when using a traditional wooden rolling pin. This one is a game changer for my dough. The adjustable rolling pin includes color coded rings in different measurements: 3/8”, 1/4”, 1/6” and 1/16 inch. Metric measurements are also marked on the discs. By placing the rings on each end of the rolling pin, one can control the thickness of their pastry or pasta dough. The rings control how thick the dough is rolled out when the dough is between the inner rings. The wooden pin also includes pastry width measurements engraved on the pin. The rings are easy to care for in soapy water or the dishwasher. To maintain the pin, I wipe it with a damp cloth, then dry immediately. Sometimes I wipe the wood pin with lemon oil or a food-grade oil.

This has been a great rolling pin for ensuring an even sheet of dough. The adjustable guides are attached with a screw top, which is secure when it's on, and easy to remove and replace without straining my arthritic joints. The wood roller is sturdy but light, and it's all very easy to keep clean with gentle washing and a bit of food-grade oil on the wood.

It is a nice idea. It is like having training wheels on a two wheel bicycle. I have used it and didn't like that I had to stop and change the wheels to get progressively thinner dough. And if you are not cautious you leave track marks in your dough (annoying). I kept this rolling pin with my other rolling pins in the bottom draw of my stove. The wheels melted and replacement wheels cost $20. It is cheaper to just get a whole new rolling pin with the training wheels. It also works without the training wheels. I guess that is the idea as you get better at it. Just like riding a bike eventually, you don[t need the training wheels anymore.

I use my rolling pin to make biscuits of a consistent height, and it works really well for that.It is a bit annoying that there is no 8mm guide (there are 2mm, 4mm, 6mm & 10mm), but the 8mm guide can be purchased online from other sellers (they are 3D printed).I also read a review about the fact that 'joseph joseph' is printed on the rolling pin, and this can indent into your biscuit dough (or whatever you're rolling), however I roll my dough between sheets of baking paper and haven't noticed this to be an issue.I have deducted a star for its price - purchase it when it's on sale if you can!!!
I have visual impairment and my depth perception is poor, this is a is handy tool especially with the adjustable heights. . I don’t have to “feel” to check the thickness of the pastry. Makes even rolling a breeze. Bit on the pricey side, otherwise very useful for me.
Another great product from Joseph Joseph. I love how you use the discs that you need for an approximate thickness. Whilst I found you couldn't get the exact thickness its useful to get something close to what you want & go from there. Then when you clean it up you can store all the discs on the end to put away.
This rolling pin is wonderful as it takes the guesswork or constant measuring with a tape measure or ruler out of making the required thickness for pastry ,biscuits & dough etc that specific recipes call for . SO easy to use & clean & a delight to have … a time saving wonderful aid to own. I LOVE ❤ it & don’t want to be without it.
Awesome design. I bought this for my niece who loves to bake. She uses different width boards to keep her dough level. This will replace her pile of boards! She absolutely loved getting this. It looks cool, is functional and she will get great use out of it.
OMG this is my second Joseph and Joseph rolling pin. Now I have one at home and one at work. If I could use one in the garden or in the car I would purchase them for there as well. I love, love, love the pin. I'm a cake decorator and cookie maker hobbyist who now owns a take away shop/mixed business. This pin has made my life so much easier. I cook homemade biscuits for my shop. Kiss biscuits by the dozens, theme cookies for whatever occasion is coming up next and so on. If you need a good pin, this is the absolute one to get.
