Joseph Joseph’s folding steamer basket features self-adjusting side, heat-resistant silicone feet and silicone side fins. It is suitable for use in both non-stick and stainless-steel cookware. The design fits a variety of pan sizes with the minimum size being 7”. The fork hook makes it easy to lift out of the pot and it folds for compact storage. If used in a pot with a lid, the pan must be at least 4” deep. Use sufficient water in the pan to allow steam production and do not allow the pan to boil dry or overheat to avoid damage to the product and your pan. Use only in pans with vertical sides and not in frying pans or woks. 4” high x 6¼” wide x 6¼” deep. Dishwasher safe and BPA free.

We used this once and the feet melted. We chalked it up to maybe first time use woes, but unfortunately the second time we used it, the entire basket melted and released fumes into the entire house with our 6 month old present. It is currently 60 degrees and we have every single window open, fan running, and air purifier going, and it still smells awful. Not to mention I am a cancer survivor so extra exposure to toxins is downright dangerous for me. I never come online to review anything but I need to warn people to stay well away.

I loved this basket when I saw it. I wanted to get away from the metal one I had for years. Unfortunately, besides its good looks, it didn't really meet my expectations. When I went to wash after using, I noticed that 2 of the side petals had melted from being against the side of my pot. Of course I was going to be using it in a hot pot on the stove! Disappointed.

This steamer is great! It’s perfect for everything from bao buns to vegetables and cooks your food evenly. It is easy to clean, folds away compactly, and is vibrant in colour.
Unfortunately this steamer needs a very large saucepan. The way it unfolds means you can’t actually get very much in it, even using my bestest pan. Other than that it does what it’s meant to do.
I have finally lost it! The heat should be well monitored; safety warning!!!!!! The smell caught my attention. It melted into the pot of squash. I put bkg. soda and vinegar in the pan to soak. It might not work. If it had continued it burn, would have been caustic, of that I am sure!Please give everyone a warning!!!!! Thanks. Maybe a simmer burner? I even had a timer on.
Our first steamer basket was the all metal one. After a short while the legs bent and collapsed. We decided to give the all plastic one a go. It proved to bes much better as the legs don't bend/break.Apart from our initially poor experience it is an excellent product and means that you only need to boil a small amount of water and the vegetables have less chance of coming out soggy!
Looks very good and quality excellent, unfortunately the product is far too bulky, occupies about a third of our biggest brand new JL 5 layer stainless steel pot and does not let you put the lid in properly. a clear waste of our money and unfortunately packaging disposed off so we will be unable to return. Too many JJ products seem to be designed for appearance rather than use. Will stick to another manufacturer in future.
So disappointed with the style of this steamer basket which did not fit any of my saucepans. The shape and style meant it did not fan out sufficiently to enable veg such as tenderstem to even fit within the basket, it was just too enclosed. Sadly had to return for refund.
Fantastic little steam basket, very compact when folded up and easy to manage, good handle/no burning your fingers and made with strong heat resistant silicone material. Very good buy best ever.
You'd think that for a steamer this would be heat resistant. It has tiny silicone legs that are meant to sit against the pot. If any of the plastic touches the pot it will melt like mine did. Normally a huge fan of JJ products and have a bunch of others that I love, but this one is a bust.
