Joseph Joseph - M-Cuisine Microwave Rice Cooker

I loved this rice cooker so much that I had to get another for my mum. I've always used an electric rice cooker but, this Joseph Joseph is just terrific like the other items I have of theirs. This is different to the other microwave rice cookers in that the plastic is sturdier and superior quality and, it has a removable strainer for rinsing the rice. It also comes with a red spatula that has nodules to fluff up the rice. The rice is cooked in just 11 minutes.I love this and highly recommend.

Amazing But

Overall this product absolutely completes its purpose as a microwave rice cooker that can also cook porridge. The ascetics are very modern which adds to the appeal over alternatives.The only thing that i would change is that they should adapt the outer shell to be able to collapse into a plate as eating out of the tub is very difficult. Even though they advertise that you can eat out of it.I would definitely recommend this product!

Best Little Rice Cooker!

Love, love, love this little rice cooker! It's really nice to have one that doesn't require me to keep track of it's cord, etc. The lid locks down with the spatula .. so clever! And I also love the basket inside that is also a colander to rinse your rice! It also comes with a measuring cup marked for both dry and wet ingredients.I think the rice cooks up better in this microwave version than my old electric cooker. I don't think it's necessarily any faster .. seems to be close to the same amount of time. And if all this wasn't enough .. you can toss it in the dishwasher! Can't think of any negatives about this product. I'd buy it again.

Better replacement for previous offering.

Much better quality than the previous design made of brittle plastic that cracked. I went online to replace our old one was pleasantly suprised to find a different design and material. This new one looks to last for years. Very easy to clean the drain holes are smaller so do not get clogged with rice. I have one critsism the small size of the knob on the lid is difficult to grip. Well pleased so far.

Does the job, but doesn't compare to a proper rice cooker

I bought this with high hopes of making it simple and easy to cook rice more often but unfortunately it has not quite lived up to expectations. I like that it takes up less space than a dedicated rice cooker and the strainer is useful for rinsing your rice before cooking. However, I had been hoping it would be easier than making rice on the stovetop which always seems to overflow and make a mess no matter how much I rinse the rice beforehand. But this simply does the same in the microwave, leaving a starchy mess. I prefer to make medium grain rice, so maybe this is not a problem with other types like jasmine. So overall it does the job, but honestly I wish I had just bought a proper rice cooker (and probably will).

Fantastic Product

I bought this for my daughter in law for Christmas. During the holidays I cooked rice in a pan and it was a disaster. We unboxed the rice cooker to try again and the rice was perfect. What a great no nonsense way to cook rice perfectly. We used it again the next night with the same perfect result. I will now buy one for myself. What a find.

Makes perfect rice without any mess

Finally, a microwave cooker which, if you follow the rice (I use basmati) to water proportions and with two or three goes to get the timing right depending on your microwave, makes perfectly fluffy rice which doesn't stick and the water doesn't overflow which means no mess. Washing the rice in two or three changes of tap water to rid some of the starch and soaking it for 10 minutes before cooking also helps the cooked texture.The serving paddle works as a lock - make sure the vents in the lid are not directly below the paddle when you lock the lid. The inner basket means you can remove any residual water quickly and rice doesn't get mushy.A good product worth the price.

Perfect Every Time

I like to cook, and have been doing so for 40 years. I'm not bad. But I've never been able to cook rice. It either burns, or it's stodgy. I'm tired of well-meaning family and friends trying to teach me how to cook rice. Then I got one of these. And it makes perfect rice. Every time. I love it. If you want easy, spot on rice, this is the item for you.

Perfect rice without a hassle

Really pleased with this purchase. It comes with a handy measuring cup and guide so you know exactly how much rice to use and how much water. Gave me perfectly cooked rice without me going back and forth, which is key as I have mobility issues.It takes about 8-10 minutes to cook the rice so it probably is using quite a bit of electricity but it’s probably better than buying microwave rice and not finishing the packet.It also cooks porridge oats but I haven’t tried that yet.It’s a little larger than I expected, by the way, so you might want to consider storage before buying.

Wonderful addition to the kitchen

This Joseph Joseph Rice cooker does exactly what it says on the box. Lovely fluffy rice in 10 mins. Using Basmati Rice 'strictly' following the instructions, so simple to do the rice is ready. My 1,000 watt Microwave needs 10 minutes. Always carefully measure the water required in the supplied measure and the rice and it never fails to please. Saves all that mess we used to get on the hob cooking rice, dishwasher safe or wash by hand, done and dusted in a flash.
