Compact and elegant spiraliser

I love this little device! It’s a quarter of the size of my previous spiraliser, works great to make zucchini noodles, and cleans easily. Highly recommend if you’re trying to lower your carbs.

Compact, easy to use, great for zucchini

I bought this from BBB several months ago after I looked at several different styles of spiral cutters. I am a gadget lover which means that I don't have much room to store one of the larger appliances or long hand crank models.I settled on the Joseph Joseph model because of the size, and I'm happy that I did. It's self storing and takes up just a little more room than a drinking glass, so it fits in my cupboards where it's easy to grab when I need it.It's great for veggies like zucchini and other soft skinned squashes, which is what I wanted to spiralize. While there is no crank to turn the mechanism, it's not a problem and probably one less thing that can break. The lid turns easily and is slip resistant due to the material, so no problem gripping it to ... MoreI bought this from BBB several months ago after I looked at several different styles of spiral cutters. I bought this in order to grate carrots without grating my fingers, and hoped the kids could use it too. The carrots were spinning around, qnd quickly tilted over. Then I placed them lying, but the grater barely worked, and it took me about half an hour to grate one carrot! There was also carrot mess all over the place. I ended up using my old and manual grater for the rest of the carrots.A complete waste of money and resources! Steer clear of it!

Great for soft(er) veg; Not for carrots or cheddar
2 October 2018

Love grated carrots and thought this was going to be the answer to spiralising my courgettes AND grating my carrots all in one.I chose this over the Oxo good grips at a similar price as the tub at the bottom would catch all the grated/spiralised stuff and I'm really happy with that function.Tried grating my carrots and it was a mess and I went back to my Kenwood attachment for a quick grate functionality.Brilliant on courgettes. Yes, you end up with the little end part not spiralised, but it's not a lot and you can chop that last bit up finely with a knife.Tried it with mature cheddar and it became a mess. May still try it with a hard parmesan before ruling the grater out completely.

Handy Spiralizer for one or two people
31 July 2022

This spiralizer works really well with a range of vegetables and is relatively quick and easy to use given it’s manually operated. Suitable for smaller quantities ie alternative to ‘spaghetti’ for one or two people. As it’s manual, more pressure needs to be applied for harder vegetables. I gave it four stars rather than five as it struggles a bit with harder vegetables such as raw beetroot and does stain.

Not a good design at all
2 November 2022

Joseph Joseph make some good items, but sadly this isn't one of them. It's really difficult to use - almost impossible to turn and actually get any shredded pieces of vegetable out of it. It relies on someone pressing the top down with enormous force to actually get the grater to work, and is a poorly thought out design. Also, the various pieces don't stack or store in themselves in any way, so you always have very sharp blades stored around the kitchen, which is awkward. It's actually pretty useless and I've gone back to using a knife, which is much easier.

Really easy to use product
24 February 2023

This product is designed really well aesthetically and practically. It's easy to use, works well and requires no pressure from your hands. It's compact style is great for limited storage space and it's also very easy and quick to clean.

Really good product, not sure why other reviews disagree
2 February 2023

A lot of reviews are saying this isn't very good which initially made me hesitate in buying it but I really couldn't see another spiraliser which I thought would work in my small apartment. So far I have only used it for carrots and there are a few small issues but otherwise I love it. You do have to use quite a bit of pressure because it is a hard veg but I use my top hand to apply pressure and then twist the container which seems to work fine. If you're doing very large amounts, you will get tired but for a salad here and there, this is perfect.

Regretful purchase
1 June 2022

This spiralizer was really hard to use. It wouldn't hold a carrot without it keep falling over and ended up in tiny lumps and each time it fell over it ended up flying out of my hands leaving a mess around the kitchen. Thought I'd try something softer and it turned courgette and cheese to mush. You need lots of strength and good motor control to hold and turn it. Do not buy. I will be returning.

Spiro awful
7 November 2022

We purchased at John Lewis in London with high expectations as my wife wanted one for ages. It is only good for broad vegetables such as zucchini, onions and you do t get all the vege shredded and with abig piece left remaining in the machine. The plate with small holes doesn't have a centre to hold it centrally so small zucchini doesn't work, carrots don't work. Complete waste of money .
