We actually have this for the Nintendo Switch. My mother bought this for my 5yo's birthday. One of his friends had it and he had played it with them. He likes it but will only play it if my husband or I will do it with him. Let me tell you, even the kids songs are challenging. 5 or 6 songs and we need a break. It's not meant to be a work out per-se so there is no warm up or cool down, but it is very physical. I feel like there is a good mix of music genres and the animations are cute. I've found new songs I like because of this. My son doesn't want to do the adult version, even though he does just as well (or poor) than I do. I'm likely to buy other years if there are some songs that interest us.

Just Dance 2018 is a hit, very fun, well made, easy to use. Overall just a very fun game, they did well with this one. I was a little embarrassingly excited that Blue is on this one because it reminds me of my childhood. I actually also like the song Waka Waka and I did also think the dance was fun, both the regular and the extreme version. I think they did well on this one, it was a good move to make this and the one before it more similar to 2004, 2014 and 2016 JD because those seem to be favorites by most people, myself included from reviews I've read online.

The first review is just for people that just want to party and have fun with their friends and family and don't really care about the different versions and stuff. Just Dance is a great game for people that like to sing, dance, or just to party and spend time with friends and family, in the main series (we are not talking about Just Dance Michael Jackson: The Experience or Just Dance Disney Party), there is currently a total of 11 games, (1, 2, 3, 4, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020). Each game features a different set of songs (mostly for that year, for example, Just Dance 2018 mostly features songs from 2017, but some songs may be from the past, for example, Just Dance 2016 has William Tell Overture), different game modes (all stars, dance machine, ... MoreThe first review is just for people that just want to party and have fun with their friends and family and don't really care about the different versions and stuff. Just dance is and E10 rated game for lyrics (they censor bad references and words, but songs still won't be suitable for younger kids), however, if you have a child that would like to dance that is under the age of 10, I recommend to get either Just Dance 2018, 2019, or 2020 as they feature a mode called "kids mode". Just Dance has a paid subscription called Just Dance Unlimited, where you have the opportunity to dance to songs from past versions of Just dance, and you get to watch exclusive Unlimited videos monthly (creative spotlight), and you get newly made songs from that version that Ubisoft decided not to have it as part of the original game set of songs. So overall I highly recommend Just Dance 2018 or 2020 for casual dancers. My second review is for gamer's or people that are serious about Just Dance (Just Dance collectors, you-tubers that post just dance). I really recommend Just Dance 2018, there is now a super and megastar in your score, Just Dance Unlimited is growing with more songs (like always), the song selection is GREAT (there were many popular songs), new menu, new menu theme, and new WDF (World Dance Floor) theme and look. So overall, I recommend Just Dance 2018. I also recommend 2017 and 2020 (i don't recommend 2019 as it wasn't really that good, and for a period of time, there were WDF hackers, therefore, not many people liked Just Dance).

At one time I owned all the Just Dance games for Wii and really enjoyed them. My kids loved them and they were all played fairly regularly. This is the first one I've gotten for the Switch and so far it does what it's supposed to do but doesn't really impress. It's fun and seems to work well with the JoyCons, but the song selection is kind of sad. Most of these songs I don't even know anymore. I guess their too busy trying to push their monthly service to actually put the good songs in the game. This may be the last one I buy.
8 y.o. #1:Just dance is very fun to play because you get to dance to different songs. I like that you get to pick songs for your own playlist. I also like how the moves to the song are hard so it makes it more challenging to learn. Overall it's just dancing doesn't mean it can't be fun.8 y.o. #2: I like Just Dance because it is very fun.I also like that you can make a playlist.I wish that it had God's plan because that is my favorite song to sing and dance to.I also like two players better than one because if you're playing one player you are going against a computer or someone you might not know.
We chose 2018 version over the newer versions because our kids knew these songs more. My 8yr old and 10yr old love it and even adults enjoy it when they come over. The 30 day trial included of Just Dance Unlimited is great. Has tons of songs and get access for an entire 30 days. May end up purchasing a subscription depending on cost once it is done. But, this aside, great game! My only complaint is when playing with more than 3 people, the camera has a more difficult time tracking 4 people. We are using just the camera and not move controllers. We find with 3 people or less though the tracking is great. Your room just needs to be well lit so it can differentiate you from the background objects.
Overall the 2018 edition of Just Dance features a solid lineup of 40 hit songs already included on the cartridge, plus you get a BONUS trial period in which you'll get access to over 300 more songs from the Ubisoft Just Dance collection database! Also this Nintendo Switch version of Just Dance 2018 has the new exclusive Mario dance and play two-handed choreographies, which you won't find on the PS4 or Xbox One versions. So whether you're a party starter, a dancer in the making, or a seasoned pro, get ready to turn up the volume and unleash your inner dancer!
Up to 6 people can play at a time, using either a single Joy-Con per person or their phone apparently. 5 dances in the game use two Joy-Cons instead of just one. There's only about 40 songs on the cartridge itself. The rest (about 260 additional songs) you access through an online subscription. There's a lot of contemporary pop but there's also enough classics to sustain you if you're not into the stuff that kids these days listen to. This game will make you a believer in the potential of the Switch's HD Rumble, if you play one of the "Double Rumble" dances.
Not much to say if you already are aware of just dance games. Use your phone, console camera or motion controller. Up to 6 players couch coop or go online and dance with hundreds of dancers. Song selection is a bit weak. 40 tracks included. Where the real game comes in is with the subscription service for $30 a year which gives you a selection of titles from past games. About 300 songs. Good party game, exercise and just plan dancing fun.
My wife and I were owners of the Wii & Wii U systems and missed having the different Wii Fit games since the Switch doesn't currently offer anything like that. I saw this and though it could be a fun way to get some exercise in while we wait for an official workout game-- we weren't disappointed! We love the game, and we absolutely break a sweat every time we play! The game has hundreds of songs to dance to, and even has a "workout mode" where it shows you roughly how many calories you've burned.Highly recommend this to anyone sitting on the fence!
