JVN Hair Complete Nourishing Shine Drops 50ml

I’m not exactly too sure how I feel about this product. It is light on your hair and doesn’t weight it down. Smells great. I do see that it leaves my hair with some shininess. But it doesn’t help with any frizz and my hair looks kind of dry after use. I have used it along with the blow out styling milk and heat protectant leave in serum, still the same type of results. Also, the dropper top completely broke off within a week of having it and I only used it twice. It’s been about two months now, and I find myself reaching for two of my other oils versus this one..

This product is awesome! At first, I was a bit hesitant because usually hair oils are super greasy, hard to determine how much is the right amount, and end up making you look like you haven’t showered for a few days. For the first time ever, that was not my experience. Take that with a grain of salt, though, because I rarely use hair oils, so my sample size is small, to begin with. However, I think the main player here is the hemisqualane. In general, squalene is a fantastic and great naturally occurring hydrocarbon (oil) that is biologically similar to the oils that humans naturally produce. They took it to the next step, though, and put hemisqualane which is a more stable and fully saturated hydrocarbon which makes it easier to emulsify and makes it act similar to silicone while still being an all-natural ingredient. The shine this product add is the perfect amount; your hair feels hydrated, and the frizz is gone. I use 1-3 drops depending on how much moisture I need, and I'm good to go. I highly recommend this product.

I never would have thought that using an oil on my fine, temperamental hair would make it look fuller and more beautiful but this stuff is a miracle worker! Here’s my process. I use Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel and Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray as styling products. After I put these products in, let them sit while doing my makeup and squeeze the water out of my hair, I put two drops of this miracle oil on my hand and rub it on my palms thoroughly. Then I evenly distribute it from the mid-lengths to the end of my hair as evenly as possible. Et voilá! Ah, this formula is beautiful. Where do I even start?! I feel a little overwhelmed as I didnt expect to love this JVN oil as much as I do (I'm a big fan of Kerastase Original Hair Oil). Beware, this container is made of glass so you wanna keep it somewhere safe (not the edge of your counter). I love that it's glass but also it means I cannot trust my husband with it, so sadly this oil lives a secret life hidden at the back of a drawer. Pipette dispenses as much product as needed, very precise, easy to operate, drip-drip-drip. I had never heard of this brand when I first began part of the campaign but now I literally am obsessed and want the whole line. These shine drops are so awesome! They not only instantly add a gorgeous shine, they reduces frizz, and provide UV protection. How perfect is that?! I was really struggling with frizz and this combats it so nicely! I order 5 sets (3 from Sephora and 2 from the JVN website). I already wrapped the gifts and saved 1 for myself. I was so excited. The packaging is nice, the glass bottle feels sturdy, but the scent is so bad. Many people love the scent (or so they said), but I don’t really know why it gives me such a bad throbbing headache. This never occurred to me with any products. I couldn’t use this as a leave-in or styling product because of the scent and I feel such a waste throwing it out, and it’s too much of a hassle sending them back to sephora. I was able to use to product 4 times before posting this review. So far, I find that this is a great treatment product for my fine, thin, color treated hair. This smelled earthy to me and I knew that I would be washing my hair after the 10-15 minute treatment time but I liked the smell. Before I started using this, my hair color was fading. With use my hair color looks refreshed, cuticles of my hair look smooth with lots of shine. Hoping that with longer use, my hair strands will be stronger and less breakable in new growth and hair already in place. Scalp feels good also and not oily. I would like this in a spray type application as I feel that it would be easier than the oil to reach to entire scalp and strands of hair.

Although I'm not one to avoid silicones in my hair routine, I'm highly impressed than Jonathan has managed to create a lightweight silicone free oil that helps make the hair more glossy and manageable/less prone to tangling. Usually hair oils that lack silicone feel greasy, but as long as you use just a drop or two on your hair depending on hair density, this product is lightweight. I use just a drop on each half of my hair after washing and styling, plus I use a couple of drops on each side of my hair at night to help make my hair more soft and manageable the next day, which always sinks in fully by the time I've woken up.
